I’ve been to other golden krust locations and this was by far the worst! I ordered oxtails and they were extremely small and not tender at all. I tried biting into all 5 tiny oxtails and it was like chewing on gristle from chicken.
The place looks like it could use a cleaning. I was sort of hesitant about eating there. But I was craving Caribbean food and didn’t know of anywhere else on Staten Island.
They did give a lot of rice and a lot of gravy on the side which I love a lot of gravy. The gentleman that checked me out was decent although his manager seemed like he was just waiting to leave. Those are the reasons I gave 2 stars.

Staff is cool not to friendly not to rude. The food is good I happen to be a fan of the sweeter tasting oxtails really a fan of the jerk chicken patties. Prices have gone up recently but that’s to be expected.

The macaroni and cheese was wonderful. The place dirty, staff lackluster. But I got turned away for trying to use my VISA card on an $ 8 order. Dude said it was against policy and didnt remember taking my money the exact same way previously. God, I want a good restaurant on this block.

Chicken patties are good with coco bread, tried a spoon of baked mac an cheese an I personally didn’t like it not cheesey an very dry. Cashier always has a attitude face all the time. Good patties though.

Grabbed a chicken pattie to go while waiting for the bus. The place looked clean, the staff member was very nice, and the price was $ 2. The pattie was great with a nice mild spicy flavor. Next time I will try the beef and jerk chicken patties, and curry goat.

Nasty. Vegetables taste like fish, this place is horrible the curry is watery. the workers are nasty and inattentive. the floor is dirty. the only thing worth eating is the paties which are warmed up there and not MADE there. save your money and don’t go there.

Definitely a welcome addition to the isolated food scene on SI. I’ve had better mac n cheese, jerk chicken w pigeon peas and rice, plaintains. etc. but they’ll do. The patties are always spot on, and I like the variety ex. jerk chicken, shrimp, spinach, soya. Golden Krust is known for their beef patties and coco bread so they’re a must. They have healthier options now too, steamed veggies, salads. Traditional Jamaican breakfast items too on the menu. So when I get that craving for Caribbean fare, nice to know I don’t have to cross the water.

I LOVE the patties!!! I was thrilled when I saw this place. I love it, used to go to one in the city. The veggie patties are the BEST! The chicken is a bit spicy but good! They have red velvet cake too! and carrot cake! And its very inexpsensive! One pattie is only $ 1.80 and two are plenty for me, although I love them so much I can eat way more! :)

was here past 12noon while i was waiting for my bus (as they’re in front of the bus stop), and thought I’d try something from them. well, i was not disappointed – i ordered for ice coffee w/​whipped cream – just what i needed during that time after seeing the small poster on the wall showing a pic of a nice, cool coffee drink. & yes, service was quick & friendly. i’ll be back soon. people were lining up that time, & i made it out soon just in time for my bus.
