Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island

Wonderful stay! I am a germ freak when it comes to hotels and this place was very nice and clean. They had a nice breakfast buffet every morning (until 10am) and kept coffee out 24 hours a day. The gym equipment seems new and they had a nice selection. Staff was very nice and accommodating. I’ll definitely be back!

Clean room, comfortable bed and a hot shower with nice towels. Just what I needed. I can’t give 5 stars because of an issue last night that the staff were less than helpful with. It took three calls to security to have the rap music next door turned off after midnight. The desk would not give me a different room either. Apparently security heard nothing until they came into my room, the walls are paper thin but the hallway is soundproofed. I got attitude from security and the night desk when I called.
I would definitely come back here again as I am certain the noise was more a fluke than the norm.
Breakfast is well done as well, the lobby/​dining area is clean and comfortable with coffee and tea available ²⁴⁄₇ (nice after a busy day).

Our room was quite spacious and relatively new. In fact the whole hotel (especially the lobby area) appeared as if it had been remodeled recently. It definitely looked a lot more high end than I was expecting!
They offer complimentary WiFi as well as free continental breakfast (and THE CUTEST disposable coffee cups ever!!), which is a huge plus — especially since the hotel is pretty much in the middle of nowhere.
We were hoping that we would be able to get a hotel shuttle from the hotel to The Vanderbilt, but apparently the shuttle only runs to the airport and to the Staten Island Ferry, neither of which were very helpful to us. The shuttle is also by reservation only. However, the front desk was able to call us two cabs for our party so that we could get to the venue.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a safe and comfortable stay in Staten Island. It’s probably also a much more economical alternative to staying in Manhattan!

Don’t expect picturesque views at this SI hotel, but you can expect large clean rooms, free breakfast, and friendly staff.
The hotel is situated right next to a Hilton Garden Inn. The Hilton is definitely nicer and provides more amenities than the Hampton Inn, but you will see that reflected in your room rate… and no free breakfast there!
My biggest knock on the hotel is that the lobby and other common areas are very dimly lit, so it always seemed dark there. Other than that, this place certainly serves it’s purpose in my mind.
For ~$ 170 we had a large room with king bed, fridge/​microwave, sitting area w/​sofa & chair, large bathroom, and free wi-​fi. As i mentioned they also offer free daily breakfast which is very convenient especially given the hotel is not located within walking distance to much.
I am not sure what brings a person to SI… guessing visiting family, maybe business or a wedding… but this is a decent, affordable option.

Would recommend with a few caveats. First of all, pool hours are very limited Mon-​Fri being open from 5 p.m. — 10 p.m. only because a life guard has to be on duty. So the hotel doesn’t want to pay for a full time life guard therefore depriving guests of using the pool whenever is convenient to the PAYING GUEST. Next, I like dogs but don’t want to hear their barking in the room next door. The noise interrupts the r&r which is key in my mind to a good vacation from the daily grind. Hotel brochure says only service dogs are allowed, but there were dogs there that were not service dogs, so what is the deal? Third, the carpets in the lobbies, hallways, and guest rooms seem years overdue for removal and reinstallation with fresh new flooring. The lounge chairs in guest rooms also are overdue for replacement. PLUS SIDE — 1. breakfast spread 2. the most comfortable clean beds ever!

It’s all about the staff! I overheard at front desk someone called and needed a toothbrush. Desk attendant gladly called service to bring up toothbrush immediately. Also needed elate checkout, no issues. Rooms see clean, small though. But can only expect so much from metropolitan area.

The staff here was so amazing! I missed breakfast and they went out of their way to try and grab something for me. The beds were so comfortable and the cleaning staff was so sweet. If you’re poor (like me!) and can’t afford a $ 600 a night room in New York this is the place to go!

Attended a birthday party here in their pool. It was a giant pit of chemicals. The kids eyes were burning and stinging. When we moved the party in to the party room, my son was having a lot of eye problems. I gave him my sunglasses while I went to the front desk on hopes of an emergency eye wash kit. No such luck but they did try to sell me a tiny bottle of clear eyes for $ 5. I took the bottle and left. I never gave them their damn $ 5 on principle. My friend is still fighting the this place because of the lack of give a f@ck they showed. They’ve looked at tapes and are saying they saw no children leaving early. We waited for them to sing happy bday do we could say goodbye. What a shame. I couldn’t even breathe in the pool room while standing there.

Food isn’t the best but breakfast is free so that’s definitely a bonus
Out of all the hotels on Staten Island I definitely recommend that you stay here cause it is the best!

The ONLY place I stay when I visit Staten Island. Convenient location, value pricing, clean, comfortable accommodations, and the breakfast is as added bonus! Being a member of the Hilton Honors reward program we’ve stayed at many Hamptons from NY to Florida and this is one of the best. Would and have recommended many times over.

I travel very often for both business and pleasure. Based on value received for price paid, this Hampton beats many four and five star hotels I’ve visited.
The manager has assembled an impressive staff of incredibly service oriented men and women who go out of their way to make guests feel special.
The complimentary breakfast is tasty and quite varied. There are a number of healthy options. The business center and fitness room are just fine. Rooms are spacious, spotless and generally quiet (ask to stay a higher floor, on the non-​highway side.)
EWR is just 15 minutes away; NYC is convenient as well.

Service was excellent! Rooms were nice, clean, and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Free breakfast wasn’t necessarily the best, but hey, it was free, so I’m not complaining.
What really earned the five star review… I left my jacket in the closet. When I called them to claim it, they actually had my jacket and sent it back to me! Never have I known a hotel that would do that.
If you ever need to stay somewhere in Staten Island, these people will take excellent care of you.

I rented a suite here for a small bday gathering which is frowned upon. But we still managed to have fun and we didn’t get kicked out. Security was nice about it, thankfully! I enjoyed my stay here. The continental breakfast was really good and there was a wide array of breakfast foods. The suite was clean and really cute. But a bit pricey. It was $ 250+ when I think it should’ve been atleast $ 175. Overall I had so much fun! It’s a nice, quiet hotel. Staff is very friendly.
