It’s just like having Jennifer Lopez from the wedding planner movie! Marissa and her team was Amazing!!! I highly recommend Her!!! The peace of mind of having Marissa’s expertise and assistance to tap into throughout the planning process was clearly worth it to us from the get-​go. Marissa helped us establish planning time tables, offered budget guidance, and had excellent vendor recommendations.
In addition to advising us in our prep for meetings with vendors, Marissa also advocated for us with special requests and helped us attain the best pricing. This was especially crucial when selecting our venue, as we were a smaller wedding for New York City and were getting married during peak wedding season, when venues prefer or require high guest minimums.
When selecting our invitations, Marissa had large sample books from a variety of vendors in every price range. She had an organized system to help us narrow down to our favorites. We got so many compliments about the quality and beauty of our invitations and could not have been happier with how they turned out.
Inevitably, there were some hiccups in our dealings with various vendors, and Marissa was our angel — her expertise saw us successfully through critical discussions and ensured everything got back on track. Marissa’s calm and collected demeanor was our hidden strength overall through this process; she has the patience of a saint and always found time to listen and advise us on every wedding-​related concern.
Marissa Mortimer and the team at Lavish Occasions ensured the whole day came together and went just as planned. We have the fondest memories of our wedding day because we were able to entrust every last logistical detail of the day to them and just focus on being in the moment with each other and our loved ones. Any anticipated or unexpected need that came up day-​of was met and the smiles never left our faces. Marissa and her team was such a joy to work with. I am so glad I chose to hire a day of wedding coordinator, the peace of mind Marissa and her team gave me was priceless. She was always available to answer any of my questions or just calm me down. I met with her many times, texted, e-​mailed, and called her at all hours. She came back early from her vacation to personally conduct my rehearsal dinner and wedding. She did such a wonderful job dealing with my big, crazy, and opinionated family. Everyone loved her. Working in the florist business for a very long time, and dealing with planners that my brides bring in, I have to say, that Marissa is the best I’ve worked with! I would recommend her to ANY of my brides. She is thorough, kind, caring, experienced, and absolutely professional. She has a great team working with her as well. Hiring Marissa and Lavish Occasions was the best decision I made early on in the wedding planning process. Marissa was there from day 1 — joining my husband and me at our appointments with venues and other vendors — all the way through to the end of the night at our after party. Marissa ensured that every possible detail was handled perfectly. She is extremely professional, a pleasure to work with, and truly puts brides at ease. Her experience and knowledge in the wedding planning business are invaluable. She knows all the tips and tricks to making your special day PERFECT and unique. I really do not know what I would have done without her (probably would have gone crazy). She was with us every step of the way and having her and her staff on the day of was literally the icing on the cake. I didn’t have to worry or stress about a single thing because I know she had everything covered. I was actually able to enjoy my wedding day which I know many brides can’t say the same. She recommended the best vendors (in our price range of course) and helped us to make key decisions. Marissa is a wonderful and talented person, who truly becomes a bride’s best friend. I HIGHLY recommend her to any bride who wants to be at ease on the big day. Wish I could do it all over again!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Marissa and her team. I am an incredibly type-​A person, with binders and tabs for everything in my life, so you can imagine how I was with my wedding, and when I was in the market for a day of coordinator I knew I needed someone as detail oriented as I am. Marissa met and exceeded that mark. We hired her on the spot, after she showed us the level of care, planning and precision she puts into each client. And she was so so much more than a day of coordinator for me. Our wedding had an incredible amount of drama, from programs and rehearsal invites being lost and never getting to us, to hotels that gave away my room that was booked a year ahead of time (Andaz Wall Street, btw), and Marissa was there every step of the way. Even the week of when I just needed to call and vent for 30 minutes, she was there (and, mind you, she is the recent mother of twins no less!).
I had an exhaustive list of things I wanted her and her team to make sure was taken care of on the day of, from lining the pathway to the venue with candles, to escorting guests to the venue itself with signs, to making sure the curtains at the venue itself were tied properly. She and her team delivered on all counts. And when I was beyond stressed at some of the antics that occurred on the day, and when my family and the groom’s family decided to come to me at multiple points complaining about one thing or another, she and her team swooped in and isolated me from the crazy as best they could. In addition, Marissa had a team member with my husband the whole time too, making sure he and the guys were doing OK (I am sure the much less stressful group!). Hiring Marissa was absolutely one of the best decisions, maybe the best decision, I made for my wedding. She is on top of her sh*t, insanely responsive, organized, no-​nonsense, and exactly what every bride needs in her life.
I could not recommend her more. She was incredible in all respects.
