Dr. Tehrany is fantastic. He is everything you want in a surgeon. His skills are impeccable. Just as importantly, he really knows how to communicate with his patients and their families. Dr. Tehrany performed a second procedure on my right shoulder, which two years previously had been repaired by another surgeon. Although the first surgery was successful, I had developed significant arthritis and bursitis that were interfering with my athletic performance and quality of life. My wife was very hesitant for me to go forward with another procedure, because the recuperation from the first operation had been so difficult.
Dr. Tehrany took a lot of time to talk with my wife and explain why he expected a much easier post-​op experience this time around. Needless to say, he did a wonderful job with the operation, and within a few weeks I was back to almost 100% and continue to improve.
Dr. Tehrany has made it clear that I am not «cured,» because arthritis is likely to return at some point. But I know I am in the best hands for dealing with it in the future, because he stays on the cutting edge when it comes to new technologies and treatment modalities. I know that as medical science makes advances, he will be at the forefront.
His P.A. (Stephan) is also terrific, and just as personable. My wife and I also appreciate how efficient and responsive the staff at Manhattan Orthopedic Care can be. We had some confusion with the ice machine after surgery, and they helped straighten things out right away.
Another thing I appreciate about Dr. Tehrany is that he is very open to alternative approaches to treatment and works directly with my chiropractor to design the most effective movement therapies for me.
I really feel very fortunate to have Dr. Tehrany as my orthopedist.

With a history of knee problems, ACL surgery, and a couple of recent injuries (knee and shoulder), I have seen my fair share of orthopedic surgeons over the years. As a health care professional myself, I understand how difficult it can be to find a top-​notch doctors with impressive credentials AND excellent bedside manner. After extensive research, I decided to see Dr. Armin Tehrany for a consultation. He truly embodies every quality that most people look for in a doctor: intelligence, competence, empathy, compassion, patience… and the list could go on. He takes the time to listen and explains things in detail. He does not push invasive treatment, but rather gives you options and explains the risks and benefits of each, which is a step many doctors skip. I really cannot recommend Dr. Tehrany highly enough.

To my fellow baby boomers and weekend warriors, if you need an orthopedic surgeon, I strongly recommend Dr. Armin Tehrany. He has a practice in Manhattan and an office in Staten Island. You can check out his website for his impressive credentials, but here’s what you won’t find: 1) He’s a great guy who listens to his patients’ needs and concern. 2) He does NOT run a practice where it’s patient in, patient out. 3) He treats you, not your MRI, your X-​ray. 4) His incredible staff will treat you like a person, not a number, and help with you with the insurance red tape, your pre-​op, etc. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tehrany.

I am happy to recommend Dr. Armin M Tehrany. After spending a great deal of time interviewing various orthopedic doctors in the New York City area, I selected Dr. Tehrany because he is caring, thorough, informed and understanding. He is a good listener and does not rush through his meetings with his clients, unlike the other doctors I met with. Dr. Tehrany’s staff members are very polite and professional too.

Dr. Tehrany also has an office in Manhattan on Madison Ave, and if you need orthopedic surgery I can’t recommend a better place to go. Dr. Tehrany runs a very professional office with well trained staff able to put you at ease from your first visit.
From questions about the two procedures I would have in 2012, to questions about after care to questions about my insurance, Dr. Tehrany directly was involved and his office staff followed up on all promises.
I’ve recommended Dr. Tehrany to friends already and will continue to do so.
