I went to this doctor 9 years ago and I see, based on recent reviews, I see she has not changed at all. What they say are completely true. I am the type of patient that don’t mind the long wait time or even the rude front desk but when I make an appt with a DOCTOR I expect to be seen by a DOCTOR and not some peon assistant. What they say are all true, she rushed in with her 2 peons and disregarded anything I had to say and rushed back out, seriously it was not even 2 mins so I had to ask the peon assistant all my questions which he just looked dumbfounded. 2 mins is being generous seriously felt like 1 min! You make patients wait forever in the waiting rm but spend only a min with them?! I knew I was NEVER going to come back. I’m just glad there’s Unilocal and reviews so people can be warned, wish I had that 9 years ago! And if I could give her NO stars I would but too bad Unilocal doesn’t have that feature.

The first time I saw her it felt so rushed and she only spoke to me for like 2 minutes and the assistant did all the other work. The pills that she gave me did by do anything and the cream that I was prescribed for my rosacea made it worse and I did go back for my follow up and I told them the issue and they really didn’t have any other alternative. I never went back because it feels uncomfortable that your concerns aren’t even acknowledged.

I had a very much different experience from the reviews I have read… I called the office and got an appointment for the same day… The girls were very nice at the front desk… The PA was very considerate and friendly.Dr. McCormack came into the exam room and she even performed the procedure herself… I found the Dr. and her staff to be very friendly, respectful and helpful… If need be I would not hesitate to make another appointment…

I dont think I will ever go back to this practice — except to have the stitches taken out from a surgery that was performed in Dr McCormacks office. Just like the many other reviews Ive seen here — I specifically made the appointment for the Dr to check on a lump on my scalp — and ended up seeing a PA. In the 18 months Ive been going there — I have seen the Dr once for less than 5 minutes. I was not impressed at all.
Not going back.

I have gone to this dermatologist for a couple of years now. It is convenient being on the same block as my home and the woman named robin who I’ve been going to for over a year for laser treatments is the only thing great about this place. My acne medicines don’t seem to work from them and I’ve also given them a list of my medications that are covered by my insurance but they seem to just prescribe me with medications that are not covered and cost a fortune. Back in March I had received a letter in the mail telling me about my history of melanoma (skin cancer) that I should get regular screenings. I was never diagnosed with melanoma and the letter was sent to me and a bunch of other patients as a mistake. It was confused with a type of skin problem that I have that also begins with an M. Nothing worse than receiving a letter like that and scaring you. Not to mention the nasty staff that did nothing about this issue when I called to figure out what the hell was going on. I only go here now just for my laser treatments from robin. The sweetest lady who tries to accommodate you in every way possible.

I am old lady who, out of stupidity, went to see this doctor for my skin lesion check ups. I point out things to her and she dismisses me and gives me a 2 min check up. Recently, I went there with my daughter and finally she gave me more than a 2 min look. I later found out I have melanoma of the skin and it’s close to being metastatic. She doesn’t even bother to give me a call. Also, the girls in the office are very unhelpful. Sometimes, they would forget about me in the office and I would have to wait almost an hour before I get noticed. This doctor has seen my body so many times and yet failed to see melanoma all this time. I will never forgive her.

I initially went to see Dr. McCormack in Dec 14 to evaluate a bump on my back that did not go away. Like others, I was seen by the PA. She said it was likely a cyst, that she could remove or the Dr. could. I told her that I would prefer Dr. McCormack. I schedule appointment for last Friday, Jan 9. I took day off from work as apt was @ 115. I get there early, wait 15 minutes & then was taken into room. Again like others I was asked why I was there, don’t understand why it was not in my chart or their appointment schedule.
PA comes in, told him that Dr. was to do procedure. McCormack then comes in very nasty & rude, tells me that I’m late for my appointment and that she has no time since she has a dentist appt. When I tell her I am not late, that my appt card said 115, she asks «Well, where is your appt card» — like I would lie to them.
She tells me it does not have to be removed, that she could just inject it with cortisone — I told her to forget about it. I wanted it to be removed as my father had cancer, precautionary for me.
I do not know why she considers herself to be a medical doctor much less a dermatologist as it strongly appears that she is only interested in the money making aspect of cosmetic dermatology. I would never recommend her or her practice to anyone — maybe she was good at one time or was able to be cordial & polite to her patients, but she should retire or just stay on the cosmetic side of things, It is very ironic that all over her office, they are these plaques that say she was named a «Best Doctor», don’t know who she paid off to get those or if they are even real.

When I first called for the appointment the women asked if I wanted to see the PA or there was a longer wait for the doctor. I made it clear that I was in no rush for an appointment and wanted to be seen by the Doctor. After 3 weeks for the appointment I was sitting in the exam room and the PA walks in and announced her name and asked what my issues were. I explained the various issues expecting her to convey them to the doctor when she came in to examine me. The PA left and I was still in the exam room thinking the doctor would be in. The PA came in and said «you are done» what happened to the doctor that I waited 3 weeks to see???
I made another appointment to have cysts removed on my head by the surgeon for the following Monday. After one cyst was removed I noticed there was a very large amount of blood on the back of my shirt and back along with a lot of blood on the exam chair. My head was still bleeding and the aide gave me a gown to wear (since my shirt was soaked with blood) and they attempted to adhere a large bandage to my head while cleaning the blood off my back. While I was driving home I felt wetness running down my neck and back. I stopped the car and felt my neck and it was covered in blood along with the back of the drivers seat. Fortunately, I had a large towel in the car and wrapped it around my neck so the blood would not further damage the cars interior. Around 9:00pm I was about to go to the ER since the bleeding did not stop and the towel was full of blood. I waited another hour and the bleeding was easing. After speaking to a doctor friend he said that the office was unprofessional in the fact that I had an open area still bleeding and they should not have let me leave until the bleeding stopped or the area should have been cortorised or additional stitches applied. The office never followed up with a telephone call to see how I was doing that evening and the fact that I left with my head still bleeding and the surgeon was fully aware of this.
When I went back for the follow up to have the stitches removed they charged me an additional copayment plus an additional office visit. In addition, I did not see the surgeon that I wanted to tell of the bad experience, I saw the PA again. After explaining my saga to her, all she said was «sorry about that»
STAY AWAY from this doctor, their offices in Pt. Pleasant, Linden, NJ, and SI, NY. Please read all of the other negative reviews about this doctor on Unilocal,Healthgrade, doc review, etc.

Only doctors office with an ATM, McCormack is a straight up gangster. She will see u for about 3 minutes then u will be dealing with her physician’s assistant for the remainder of the time you visit her office including all future visits.

Came here the first time, had a biopsy done for our son.
Then had to come back 3 weeks later for follow up.
They ONLY accept copay in a form of cash, normally
in most doctor’s office follow up don’t require copay.
Over all, i am just not feeling this place, from staffs to doctors this will be our last i be taking anyone there never mind refering anyone else. And oh did i mention they even have a ATM in the office just to make sure you get them the cash for the copayment.
Have no idea what kind of establishment is this, it seems like they care less about the patients. I should have done a research before coming here, because we had to return for our son’s biopsy results and didn’t want him to go through doing another one, that’s why we are back for the follow up, other then that, NEVER AGAIN.

I really think she (Dr Patricica McCormack) is not a real doctor, SHE is CLUELESS TO rashes or the skin. The staff is horrible and and the Dr spent 1 minute in my exam room and I still left there clueless as to what kind of rash I have.

She was referred by my Doctor, for a rash on my back. Her office is chaotic, the staff are rude and not friendly at all. I waited about 15 mins, they brought me to an office where i waited another 20 mins. Dr, McCormack walks in like shes in a hurry asks me whats wrong, I tell her and she looks and turns around and writes a prescription and leaves, doesnt even talk to me and find out how many times it occurred… nothing! she is so rude and I hated the visit., but they make sure they collect their money! NEVER AGAIN! went back to my doctor and told him about her, he was upset to hear that because he refers people to her.

This review is actually for Dr. Patricia McCormack. She works out of the Pt. Pleasant, NJ office and I had the unfortunate experience of meeting with her.
I can see by other reviews, people were completely dissatisfied with their office visit and I can completely see why.
First, the front desk was filled with young girls who seem to judge you and act like they do not want to be working there. When I said I do not have insurance and that I would be paying cash for everything, I was given a bunch of dirty looks, as if they pitied me. I have a good job and as long as I am getting my money’s worth, I do not mind spending it. However, I did not get what I paid for.
First visit was $ 150. They did a full body check and diagnosed the specific issue I had. I had a very small cyst that I wanted removed. The first doctor I saw said it would go away if the injected it with a steroid. That would be another visit and $ 75. Fine, as long as it would be gone. But then Patricia McCormack came in and said her assistant was wrong. I would the cyst scraped for it to go away. I felt uncomfortable and started asking questions but she seemed annoyed and walked out. She was in the exam room for a minute and a half total then left.
So, I set up another appointment to get the cyst scraped and removed. That was another $ 75. I was ok with this since I knew it would be removed and it would be worth it. Took all of 5 minutes and then they set me up for a follow up appointment two weeks later.
The office does not call to confirm your appointments so unless you remember to go, you are screwed. I called ahead of time because I had a feeling this follow up wouldn’t be free and I wanted to double check. They told me it was $ 75 for a follow up apt, which means it’s not really a follow up appointment! A follow up is for the doctor to check their own work. It should cost nothing. In this case, the cyst was still there and I would have to go and pay another $ 75 just so she can see that it was still there. Then, they would charge me another fee on top of that to get it removed again.
Complete waste of my time and money. They were so unhelpful and rude. They did not act like they cared and I would never recommend anyone going to the Staten Island office OR the Pt pleasant, NJ one. Fuck her.

I went to this dermatologist office for a good 6 months in 2011. I didn’t say I went to Dr. McCormack because I never saw her, only the PA and then I read she doesn’t usually work at her practice. I had cystic acne and this was my first time seeing a dermatologist. The waiting room was always crowded and the wait was horrendous-​never less than 2 hours. I was able to download a book on my Kindle and get through a good portion of it before being seen. Once you get called they put you in an exam room to wait another half hour. The PA was very nice but she always seemed very run down, I would imagine due to the number of patients she saw daily. She would exam me for literally 5 minutes and sent me on my way with a script. I tried Solodyn which was a topical gel and had a severe allergic reaction to salicylic acid (active ingredient in 99% of acne treatments) so she put me on antibiotics. Once I saw my gyno he told me to get off that immediately because it’s not good to stay on antibiotics. The ONLY thing that helped me after all of the PA’s suggestions was going on birth control (my gyno’s idea) and now my skin is completely healed. I wish I could have been treated thoroughly and diagnosed by the dermatologist instead of going through all of that. I do not recommend this practice at all.

Worst office ever!!! I didn’t say worst doctor. But worst office. Okay first of all let’s start by saying the front desk is all filled with girls who look like they don’t want to be there and get annoyed when you speak with them. Excuse me, this is your job. Put on a smile. Secondly make sure you have NOTHING planned after your scheduled appointment. Had a 5:30 appointment, wasn’t seen until 7:00. This wasn’t the first time that happened either. And they act like your invisible. Recently I relieved a bill and had a question and wanted to verify with the office, the girl laughed in my ear on the phone. Soooo unprofessional it was disgusting.
Recently I had an outbreak on my face and needed meds. I called for an emergency script to be called in, and NOPE they wouldn’t do it for me because I wasn’t seen since March. Um what? Were in October it’s not like I’m asking for serious drugs either. Mind you in March they removed a mole twice and even had to get stitches from it so weren’t you paid enough? They just want the payment from my office visit. It’s disgusting.
On the upside, this office is huge and located in a great place. On the corner of Richmond and Merill. The office inside is beautiful and they have tv (that’s cause your going to wait 3 hours for your appointment). The physicians assistant always sees me and she’s great.
All in all just stay away from this office. Not worth the headache. go see Lederman around the corner. She is much better. And maybe you’ll see Big Ang getting her monthly Botox. Lol!
…Thanks for the comment down below doc but it doesn’t change my mind about your office or the unprofessionalism or that I won’t be back as well as many people on here. the rating says it all !!! By the way it was recent that I was there, and the script was for the same thing that was issued a few months prior. Again it wasn’t a major drug it was for a breakout on my face and came there many months for the same script. They could have did it! But again wanted me to visit for the payment. Anyway, Good luck to you.

I had an appointment with Dr. McCormack in ⁰⁴⁄₁₃ for some mole and red spots on my checks. The first time the doctor did not come to see me and her assistant applied liquid nitrogen. When I asked a receptionist who performed this procedure, the answer was Dr.McCormack. When I had a second appointment the doctor saw me and all my complains that this mole does not look better then before the treatment were disregarded based on a statement that she did not see my mole before the treatment. When I asked about red spots that I had on another check, she gave me some cream samples that were just acne cream and it did not help me at all. When I finally came to another dermatologist, he was very concerned that these red spots can be Basal cell cancernoma. It is not a medical office, it is just a money-​making conveyer, without any attention to patients. I would not recommend anybody to visit this office, does not matter how serious the problem is.

I visited Dr. McCormack on 3÷1÷13 for a rash and itching condition on my arms and legs. I saw both the Doctor and the PA. Neither actually diagnosed the condition or the cause. Instead I was told to use Dove brand soap, shower with cooler water and was given a prescription.
I went to Costco to fill the script and was told that the cream would cost $ 900.00
It is outrageous to be given a prescription for that costly a cream without some sort of indication from the doctor that the cost was so prohibitive. I understand if I have a life threatening illness and this cream is the ointment that will save my very life… but to use in the same sentence, to switch to a different soap and use a $ 900 cream, is scandalous. Utterly outrageous.

I went to see Dr McCormack for some strange rash on my leg. Her staff was really friendly and helpful. She made me feel extremely welcome, and it turned out to be just poison ivy (first time i had it, in my 30’s– who knew). I would definitely recommend Dr. McCormack and her staff. I know she also provides a lot of skin care and cosmetic services and has offices in Linden and Pt.Pleasant.
