I cannot understate how much of a gem this shop is. Angeline is wonderful and so, so hospitable. We had a great time hanging out with her and shopping around. I got a flannel shirt with pink frills on it that I literally cannot wear in public without people asking to buy it off my back for unspeakable amounts(someone offered to just give me their credit card). I always say no. It is just one of those magical articles of clothing that make people fall over in the street. I don’t know where Angeline gets this stuff(she said this particular shirt was from SF I think), but it is amazing. I also got a fantastic pair of loose pants with a sweet design. We came from Bushwick, which has more vintage stores per sq. ft. than clean air, and So Angeline blew anything I’d seen in Brooklyn out of the water. This place should be a destination for anyone who wants to rule.

I had a few days to prepare for my trip to Paris. I needed the perfect outfit that was fashionable but didn’t appear as if I was trying to hard. While discussing my dilemma at dinner with some girlfriends, a few suggested stopping by a vintage boutique a short bus ride from the SI ferry. I wasn’t sure about the journey but I was told about the eclectic range of style and affordable prices. Two days before my trip, I found myself outside a nondescript location with a simple but elegant sign stating, «So Angeline.» I entered through the doors to find a welcoming hostess with a genuine smile and offered a cup of tea. I looked around to find the walls lined with well kept clothing from over the last 30 years. Where the clothes stopped, creative stoned walls brushed with gold and earth tones started and seated an alcove with a heavy brocade curtain for a small changing room. Then the magic began. Angeline, the proprietress, is also a gifted stylist. Initially, I looked through the array of clothes on my own as she asked me about what I was searching for, what occasion was my outfit was for, what my style was, etc. After I selected a few pieces on the rack, she began to pull out blouses, skirts, and dress from her spring/summer storage. As I tried on my selections, I simply asked for her opinion and that’s when she began to transform each outfit into a new creation. I was amazed at how she understood what worked for my body and what would accentuate my assets. Impressed by her skills, I let her style in a few of outfits and I eventually ended up buying half of them. I left feeling absolutely content with what I had and the extraordinary service I received.

Tiny little thrift store on a side street. Plenty of 80’s inspired jackets and outfits. Nothing for lighter weather but perfect for the colder seasons or a I heart the 80’s marathon. Really nice proprietess(is that how you say it?). Most of the stuff I saw ran from the $ 30 — $ 40 range but I did spot a few dresses that I would either sport or re-purpose. Great spot for those who love 80’s inspired fashion or are looking for some threads to repurpose into something else. BTW: they do except credit cards. Also, there’s another thrift shop on the other side of the street. It doesn’t have a name but it’s across from the Santander bank and they have shirts hanging outside so it’s not hard to miss. Two thrift shops back to back. Not a bad way to spend your day.
