Marino’s is not closed, and is still jamming! Got an awesome burger here a couple weeks ago. Great people watching. There were some young dudes sitting at the bar, kind of out of place. Then we overheard them telling the locals that they were Dutch, came to the U.S., bought a van, and were touring the southern states. They’d gotten a recommendation to come to Marino’s from someone at Made (a great store downtown Staunton). Marino’s has changed hands and has the same feel but the beer selection is greatly improved with some local beers and good stuff on tap! They still have their super cheap options though. Will come back. Oh and they accept cards now!

Menu is short but sweet food wise. Great selection of beer. Burger was cooked perfectly, juicy and reminded me of cooking on grill at home. Fries like everything is cooked to order and came out hot. Quaint place, worth stopping for. Bluegrass on tues and Fridays. We missed that, maybe next time.

This place is amazing! To note: I read in a previous review that they only accept cash. They accept cards now, too. This place is a great way to meet the local scene. I went on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Everyone is super friendly and up for a good time. They have live local bluegrass every Tuesday night — it’s a very lively place. Their cheeseburgers are fantastic and cheap. GREAT place.

Not really my kind of place to hang out so I called ahead to get it to go. The guy on the phone seemed pretty confused by the whole thing. I guess take out orders isn’t something they do often but they did it for me. It’s pretty basic with iceburg lettuce and american cheese. It was a really good burger… I wanted another one when i was finished. Seems pretty average just by looking at it but they loaded bacon on it and 2 slices of cheese. The patty itself is what made it, what’s their secret i wonder. A man there introduced himself as Gus, he told me i should come in on a Tuesday night and order a gus burger. This is a bacon cheese burger with an egg on it… yum.

MY.FAVORITE.PLACE.IN.THE.WORLD.FOR.BURGERS.AND.BEER.AND.BLUEGRASS
If you are in Virginia, this place is worth a 100 mile detour. You will not forget it, ever. It is the kind of place people write stories about. It is the kind of place that everyone wants to have in common.
They serve up handmade, most delicious burgers in Staunton and will cut up some fries or onion rings for you, too. But that’s not the magic: the magic happens with the cheap beers and the music. Marino’s hosts a bluegrass jam session every Tuesday night, and on any given Tuesday, you’ll find professors, architects, truck drivers, or the newest breed, the «fahn yung thangs» of SVA.
…It’s just as well; it’s why I’m reviewing it. I want to let everyone get a piece of the pie! Everyone should git themselves a little bit of Marino’s magic before you’re too far to catch it. :)
