We went here for Christmas dinner this year. Been here once before and it was excellent. This time was also excellent. The staff is friendly, and seem to take pride in there work. We will be going back more. The food is always good. No complaints. I’ve had the shrimp, steak, chicken, filet. All good.

The food is delicious. So far, we’ve only done the hibachi. I haven’t had the sushi but I wouldn’t be able to rate it really well anyhow considering I don’t know much about sushi. They have a guy there that makes balloon animals for the kids. I always get the lobster tail which, I think, is the best I’ve ever hence I always get it. «Yum yum» sauce is amazing

Awesome most of the time BUT I came here on a busy Friday and we were rushed. Several mistakes made from no clean glasses to a chunk of butter being served to me with my filet.

We come here all the time and the food is usually fantastic. I wouldn’t eat the fried oysters though. I have tried them and didn’t think they did a good job. The Atmosphere is amazing and it’s got a young vibe. I believe the quality of food is way ahead of Benihana!

This is my favorite place to get sushi. They have a great selection, and everything is fresh and delicious. Often times the sushi chef sneaks in extra sashimi on your order. The environment is classy and welcoming. They have a full bar and great staff! Highly recommended!

We’ve been searching for a new Japanese steakhouse since our past go-to has gone to hell. We’ve been going to the«B» place in Dearborn, but that is a big hike to open our wallets and shake them out for a once-in-a-while treat(you know these places aren’t cheap). We’ve tried several places in metro Detroit and have been anything from underwhelmed to «we’re never going near that place again.» So after getting several coupons in the Pennysaver from Ichiban and having a jones for garlic butter, we decided to try it. We were very happy with that choice. There was only us and another couple at our table, and some other tables(not many) were full, but it was relatively early(5:30), so hopefully they pick up later. We went to the hibachi side, we will probably try the other side, too. They were having a sale on sushi, so we got some to try. It was very good, not overloaded with rice as some places tend to do. Our waitress was very nice, although I think she was covering at least one other table so the service was a little slow after we got started. The soup was fine and the salad was decent(although a bit small) with tasty dressing, although I’m not sure why these places can’t drain the lettuce so you don’t have a bunch of water in the bottom of the bowl. My only real complaint was that my water was empty for a long time, and she brought our bill about 10 minutes after the other couple, I’m not sure why. Since there were only two couples at the table, the chef tailored the show and only did half the«tricks,» which was much appreciated since we had our little one with us. Her eyes got really wide when he did the«the whole grill is on fire» trick, which is a new one for me. I had to check to see if my eyebrows were still there. But he was very good with the show and got everything done quickly — much faster than other places. The food was very tasty, the whole meal took a very reasonable amount of time, and other than the peas in the fried rice(yuck!!) that I had to pick out, we enjoyed everything and will be back as long as there are coupons. We might even try it for lunch next time since those prices are a little bit easier on the wallet. I think we can finally say«sayonara» to that place that starts with«B».

This place is tops in the area for Japanese cuisine. We have been here twice with excellent food, service and atmosphere. Don’t let the strip mall location deter you. Once inside you will see what I mean.

I’ve been here maybe 20 times mostly for sushi and it’s perfect very nice on inside looks extremely high end but the prices are good! Perfect place for a sushi date or even to hang out at the nice bar area! Reason for 4 stars the hibachi wasn’t all that well last time asked for noodles n they where like ramen noodles but everything else was good.

I AMGLADTHATOURHIBACHICHEFWASSTILLABLETOPUTON A GREATSHOWEVENWHENWECAMEIN20MINUTESBEFORELUNCHCLOSED! Man I wish I got the name of our chef because he did an awesome job serving our whole party. Because I know that normally the chef just rushes it and doesn’t put on a show and is just trying to get out of there and take his break before dinner. That wasn’t the case with our chef. He made our meal enjoyable to watch. Our server was kind of slow when my friends and I all waited for our waters to be filled when our glass has been empty for almost 10 minutes. There was about 8 of us and we all got the filet mignon as part of our entrée. We were all satisfied with our filet and scallops/chicken/salmon as our second choice. Fried rice was alright, I like Shogun’s fried rice better. I almost forgot how cheap hibachi is around lunch hours. So I highly recommend coming around lunch hours for those who complain that dinner is too expensive and can only go here once or twice a year. Ambiance and décor was fancy dancy. I like the dim lighting that Ichiban has going on. I like the atmosphere better than Benihana’s. Quality is excellent here and our chef made our lunch delightful.

We have visited many of the sushi restaurants in the area and this is now going to be a favorite of ours. We all ordered different things, from appetizers to sushi and drinks and were very satisfied. The service was very nice and the staff very friendly. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was very clean and relaxing and we will absolutely be going back again soon.

The quality of the food and service is excellent here, but beware that it is quite pricey. Brought my family of five, and with basic California Roll appetizers, fried rice for everyone and green tea along with the fairly typical hibachi meals, was just under $ 150! Again, love the food and ambiance, but at the price I’m only coming once or twice a year, orcas a couple.

This is my faaaaaavorite Japanese restaurant in the 586 territory. You definitely are my «Ichiban» !! My boyfriend is from the Ann Arbor area & he was glad I brought him here. The ambiance & décor are just perfect. The place doesn’t give me that pretentious vibe. I’ve also been here with my family & girlfriends numerous times and all experiences were great! Your Ichiban rolls are fantastic! P. S. Just a small wish that maybe you should reconsider offering the traditional cucumber salad. ;)

First of all the bar and restaurant are spot on with regard to setting, atmosphere and experience. Second, the food is well cooked and fresh. Most hibachi steakhouses are predictable and this one does not disappoint. The chef was dull and mechanical. We took a 5 year old looking for a bit of a show and just got a quick, tasty meal. Spoiled the mood but it is what it is! Good luck to them! It is a great location so they should do well.

The reason I’m giving this place one star is because it was so cold in here that we could see our waiters breath, and our own. It was below zero outside, and probably less than 40 degrees inside. When I asked the manager if anything could be done, he said no. He took me into the bathroom(which was very warm) and said that this was how the temperature should be throughout the restaurant, and that the fans above the grills cooled it down to much. I did not want to eat in the bathroom and could not wait to leave so I could warm up. Save this place till summer

We had dinner with some friends we both had our kids with us, they love the hibachi. The cook was awesome and so was the server. I had seaweed salad and sushi and still cannot believe how fresh and delicious it was. Pricing is what you would expect from a high quality restaurant. Not too high but certainly more than a Coney Island(of course!). I will be back here for sushi and will bring the family back for the hibachi.

Have been here three times, each meal is more delicious than the previous one. This is the perfect Japanese bistro — hibachi, entrees, & sushi! Awesome décor, & they have a full bar. One of my favorite drinks is their Lychee martini — served with two lychees as garnish, If you’re one of those sushi fanatics that needs it all, Ichiban has the love boat for $ 58 — 16 pcs hand rolls, 1 order sushi &1 piece of sashimi… including soup, salad & chef’s choice of side. Every dish is aesthetically pleasing, and their sushi is very fresh & delicious!

I really don’t understand why this place isn’t more packed during the day. Stopped in for lunch with a friend, and it was damned near vacant. — It wasn’t because of the waitstaff, because they were incredibly… nearly over the top… helpful, friendly and knew their stuff. — It wasn’t because of the food, because the rolls were huge, nigiri was proper and of a decent size and taste. — It wasn’t because of the kitchen, because everything came out in a timely manner. — It wasn’t because of the price, because for the amount of food and drinks we had, we were stunned that the price was as low as it was. So…the only reason I can think of is that you people just haven’t found it yet. And so you should probably stay the hell away so that they don’t get too big for their britches and start changing things.
