I get hungry when I shop, and so it’s cool that Macy’s has a restaurant located here on the 3rd floor… except that the food is usually prepared terribly. Stay away from the appetizer quesadillas. They are so nasty and they goop on some green sauce all over them. Have some wine, soup or salad, and you will probably be better off. Service is usually ok. I’ve NEVER seen a manager walking around checking on anything or anybody. What happened to Macy’s anyways??? Ewwwww.

EXTREMELY slow service. My husband and I dined here for a Saturday lunch. They served us bread rolls which were deliciuos — warm and fluffy, with butter on the side. I ordered the rotisserie chicken caesar salad. The actual caesar salad was good, but the chicken was cold. I was expecting warm, fresh rotisserie chicken. Also the chicken was extremely bland and didn’t taste good. For a Saturday afternoon, my table being one of 7 with customers, the service was extremely slow… we were in the restaurant for about 50 – 55 minutes — complete waste of time. Not to mention when we were finished with our meal waiting for our check, our server took over 10 minutes to deliver our check. When she did, and we paid, she took another 7 – 10 minutes to take our check and get us our change(we paid cash). I will ONLY be back to try the Frango Mint cheesecake… which sounds amazing. But that is all that would entice me to come back. Besides a full dinner of their bread rolls.

Disappointing service, speed, and quality. Our food was plated wrong which ruined the sides. Baked mac and cheese should actually be baked not sprinkled w/barely toasted bread crumbs. We had to fetch our own refills. Wait forever for our check. Haphazard service all around. We love the old reminder of our ‘Hudsons”. I wish the service improved. I’m very sad this was our second disappointing service and inaccurate meal. I’m not sure there will be a third try. This is the closest one but a nearly 3 hour mid afternoon 6 meal lunch on a weekday was too much.

We looked forward to our return visit to this restaurant for their Caramelized Salmon entrée. On the last two previous visits this delicatable dish almost melted in my mouth. The portion was good size for the price and the farro risotto was a tasty accompaniment. Armed with a coupon we ended up sorely disappointed. Our food arrived in a timely manner and the first taste of the salmon left me startled and wondering what happened. There was only a typical salmon taste to the fish with no hints of the caramelized glaze softness and taste. When I asked the waitress about the lack of glaze she responded the fish was definitely carmelized while cooked as the menu described. I politely protested it was not the same tasty salmon I had the past two visits. She was adament the salmon was cooked as described and admitted the cook may not have cooked it right. I took a few more bites to make sure I wasn’t mistaken and sure enough, there was no hint of a caramelized taste and it seemed the fish was merely fried in a pan. I suggested maybe there has been a change in menu since my last visit and the waitress said the menu has remained the same for the last year since she has been there. The rest of her service was good and all other dishes tasty which is why I gave this review two stars instead of one.

My lunch with a friend at Lakeshore Grill was a pleasant experience! For cocktails, we each had a Tom Collins. We love gin, but unfortunately this classic cocktail is poorly made at most places at which I have ordered it. Not here – this was the best Tom Collins we’d ever tasted! The hummus platter appetizer was unique and refreshing. Although there was not much hummus, there was a selection of vegetables, olive, marinated feta, and pita to dip. I also had a cup of tomato soup, but it was just ok. My friend had a salad with goat cheese. It was delicious, but the breaded goat cheese medallions were way too big and there were too many; however, it did not take away from the taste of the salad. I ate the quiche of the day, which had bacon, red peppers, green onions, and I think another ingredient or two. It was fantastic and I recommend it highly! Overall, the food was pretty good and the server was nice, although service was a bit slow. We waited a while to receive our food, and I think we spent a bit too much time there for a meal. I would definitely revisit though, and I’d bring others as well.

Is it weird that my favorite restaurant is the one on the lower level at my local Macy’s? Probably. However, that doesn’t stop me from coming here! This fine gem is hushed away on the lower level and I can guarantee you people don’t even know it really exists, which is quite the shame. Besides the food court Lakeside Mall is really lacking any type of restaurant or good opportunity for food. My Auntie and I have been coming here for years. While the décor is slightly outdated, it still makes me feel at home and cozy. Everyone raves about the Mandarin salad and for good reason — so delicious! My Auntie orders it every time and raves about how good it is. Wontons piled high a large bed of lettuce with oranges and chicken? Don’t mind if I do! Me, on the other hand, always sticks to a soup and sandwich duo. I’m not a soup person, really, but the Canadian Cheese Soup hits the spot every time. Always done to perfection and always filling. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! As for the sandwich, I usually opt for the chicken salad or turkey. The cobblestone turkey sandwich is also a good choice as well. Cannot wait to come back soon! Service is sometimes hit or miss but the food is Scrumptious. Don’t miss out on the rolls either! They also have deals on wine on Wednesdays.

This place is a classic. Stopped in today for something light. Their lettuce wraps were very good, although the portion was small. Service was excellent.

I applaud Macy’s for keeping the Hudson’s alive! Came here not to go shopping, but a little taste of Hudson’s, and I don’t regret it! The décor is a little dark, but nice. The service is very good, our server(forgot her name) was very nice. The almond salad to start was really good, never had it before, but was pleasantly surprised. The Maurice Salad was spot-on, and just plain delicious. Just like Hudson’s!!! The pot pie is fantastic. Not much else to say, but COMEHERE!!!

I forgot about Macy’s Lakeshore Grill until a recent shopping trip to Macy’s department store. I had not been to this department store restaurant in years. In fact, it was so long ago, the store was still Hudson’s. Macy’s was just the New York City department store in Miracle on 34th Street that Santa told people not to shop at because it was too costly. What caught my eye was a sign indicating that wine is ½ off on Wednesday’s and Friday’s. I did not even know this place had wine. It turns out that they have a full, albeit small, bar. A quick glance at the menu revealed that they sell all the foods that my grandma would like: chicken potpie, roasted turkey, etc. However, I spotted what I was looking for… the Maurice salad. A subsequent trip was in order. I went on a Wednesday and took advantage of their ½ price wine special. It is nice that the deal applies to wine by the glass and not just whole bottles. Now, don’t expect to get a bottle of 1787 Château Lafite here. Bottles start around $ 24.00; however, they are wines that you could get for less than $ 10.00 at a supermarket. Fair enough. This trip was not about the wine for me. It was about the Maurice salad. It was definitely worth the trip. The salad tasted just as good as it did two decades ago; it was wonderful. The portion size was ample. I left full and pleasantly pleased. Besides how fantastic my salad was, a couple other thoughts about this place went through my mind while dining. First, I wondered how a small, hidden place like this stays in business. They hardly had any patrons during my visit. Second, I kept thinking that this would be a great place to remember when shopping. It seems like the ideal place to sneak off to for a quick drink when the stress of holiday shopping starts to set in. Keep in mind that the restaurant closes an hour before Macy’s closes, so, plan accordingly.

I didn’t even know this place existed until this week. Tucked between the women’s swimsuits and dresses is an opening for a full service restaurant that serves everything from chicken to dessert. The most comical thing is that the entrance is so unassuming, you think it’s the place that leads off to the bathrooms. The food was great and more upscale that typical mall food. This is a real restaurant(with dinner rolls and a full wine menu). Now that I know it’s there, I think I’ll be back. It’s worth checking out and is a nice retreat from the normal mall meals. I will attempt to revisit around the holiday season since it’s the best kept secret in Macy’s!

I have been coming here since I was a kid and it was called Hudson’s Café! My Grandma would bring us for birthdays and specials occasions. This is a nice change from other places in the mall, and the best part about it, is most people dont even know it is there and walk right past it! They have a great atmosphere, waitstaff is always top notch, cloth napkins and the best iced tea!(Srsly it is the best I have ever had, I dont know what kind it is or if the fresh mint in the glass has something to do with it but I love it!) Oh yeah, I forgot about the food… wonderful! The Maurice Salad is a timeless classic. Most people thought when Hudson’s changed to Marshall Fields and then Macy’s the Maurice Salad was gone forever… it isn’t! It is just as good as it was when I was a kid! It puts any salad at Panera Bread to shame! The chicken pot pie is very yummy! You get a crock of chicken pot pie filling and two puff pastries to go with it, along with a baby spinach salad. They also have almond crusted perch, Canadian cheese soup, salmon, quiche, and a pork tenderloin sammy… it is served on mutil grain toast, with lettuce, tomato and a basil mayo… it is to die for! This place is a hidden gem! It feels like you should be dressed a bit nicer and paying a lot more, but it is a great break from the mall and easy on the wallet… your belly will thank you for it!

Don’t laugh! I know… really??? Am i really reviewing the restaurant at Macy’s? YES! I am! I actually love this restaurant, my food is always so good, service is so friendly and the menu items are at times out of the box, but not tooo far outside of the box. I am a big fan of cocktails while I shop, my bank account isnt… but I am. This place has a full stocked bar and a nice wine list. This is the perfect place to take of the BFs edge from dealing with my shopping or to just relax my feet after a shopping up a storm. Don’t tell anyone. but I come here just for the restaurant at times… I don’t even shop. haha!
