I just moved to this area and have eaten at this location twice. I guess I just have lower expectations than the other folks who reviewed this place, but found this place to be ok. First, the service is fine, it is Tubby’s, so I’m not expecting to be treated like royalty. Second, it is hot in there, they need to turn on the AC for sure(one star loss for this)! Third, the food is fine. Got steak and cheese both times and it was a steak and cheese. It is a little dry so I bought dressing in a bottle for this. Problem solved(but I’m taking a star off for this as well).

This is the only Tubby’s in the area and unfortunately all of the reviews are 100 percent accurate! The owner is rude and obnoxious with no clue how to treat her customers with appreciation. There was a friendly, clean location on Mound but they shut down. How this woman is still operating is beyond me, she must have a trust fund from a rich uncle in order to still be in business. I vowed to never again give this woman my business and despite how much I have craved Tubby’s, I have stuck to that promise! Next best location is south of Hall Rd on Van Dyke! Very friendly people :)

I love a sub from Tubbys, but not from this location. I go to this one because it is so close to home. I refuse to come to this one anymore. I can not put myself thru this torture anymore. First off the owner must be really cheap. Every time I come here I see the same lady working by herself. I feel bad for her. She does come off on the little rude side, but I think I would to if I was working my but off in that place. Also they never have the AC on so it’s a bunch of people sweating when they are waiting for there food. Which takes long to get your food cause again only one person working. Even of you call in the order ahead of time. You still wait. Now for the food it is horrible here. It does not even taste like a Tubbys sub. The bread isn’t the same it’s on the smaller side and doesn’t have that great tasting bread that I’m used to getting from other Tubbys. The meat is tuff, dry, and lacks flavor which again I don’t get from other Tubbys. The portions are really small compared to other Tubbys hardly any meat or veggies in the sub. I will not come to this location anymore I will drive further the next time I have a craving for Tubbys. So Tubbys corporate close this place down cause it is making your image look bad.

Not cool… really had the taste for Tubbys, get there about 7:45 and she’s shut down and all cleaned up for the night. Said she’s kind of closed… well your sign said open and until 8pm. If you are going to be a business that’s open until 8 don’t make it to where you can’t serve customers at 7:45…

Food is good but the service is just awful. They are rude and insanely slow. Unfortunately it’s one of the few Tubby’s in the area but it may honestly be faster to make the drive to another one. You’ll get your food faster despite the added drive time… seriously.

It’s so sad because I love tubbys and thought to give this one location another try but man the lady that’s owns this place has a horrible attitude problem… To bad there is no other tubbys around … Listen lady if you don’t like your job or business please quit we are paying customers and deserve to be treated nicely… So no matter how good the sandwich that tubbys makes thanks for ruining it with your HORRIBLEATTITUDE! You will never get my business again even if I starve to death.

Normally I wouldn’t review a Tubby’s, I mean, what is there to say, but if you are looking for a Tubby’s to dine in at, make sure this isn’t the one. I haven’t eaten at many Tubby’s, but this is one of the more dirty places I’ve been to. I was out running errands on a Saturday, wanted something decent and convenient, without breaking the bank and this fit the bill. They always have signs on metro parkway advertising the $ 4.99 foot longs, they pay some old man to hold them up, and I do love their steak subs. The manager was yelling at the old man that day as well. Myself and 3 kids dined in and as I was waiting for the food, as I looked around I was observing just how dirty this place is. I’ve seen gas stations cleaner than this place. Clearly the owners are managers there as well, and they do don’t care what people think, which is why they always have an older poor person out holding a sign to come in. The place is cluttered, they have several potted plants reminiscent of the 1970’s in the front window in plastic pots. It appears that they had this place remodeled within the last 10 years, but they do not keep it up either. Lots of scotch tape stuck on the ceiling, probably from Christmas lights or something. I hope this review makes it way to the owner and they take to the opportunity to clean it up. The manager wasn’t rude, but wasn’t friendly either. Spend the extra dough and go to the new Penn Station across the street, the difference is night and day, or go to another Tubby’s.

Sigh. I see all of the other reviewers have beaten me to the punch. I went there yesterday for the Friday 12 inch steak and cheese special. Like many others I have been a Tubby’s fan since I was a child and I have finally made my last visit. I ordered my sub(after standing like a goof for 5 minutes waiting for the famous cranky lady) and an order of cottage fries. Fries go down right away, 3 minutes later they are banged out into a pan… Then comes the wait. I waited a good 10 more minutes at least to get my sub and cold fries. The kicker this time was the itty bitty amount of comestibles inside the bun. I cannot believe that Tubby’s has not pulled this franchise.

I love tubbys and have been to many locations with a great experience. This is strictly for this location, the owner has a horrible attitude and seriously does not understand customer service. She is rude to her employees and snaps at customers when they ask about policies or their orders. A few weeks ago we had coupons at work and sent a coworker with the orders, coupons and money. The owner was rude to my coworker and would not accept the coupons because they had another promotion going on in the store that had nothing to do with the coupons we brought in. I called corporate who apologized and willingly admitted that they have problems with this owner and that they strongly suggest I visit another location. They sent me some gift cards for my next trip and really couldn’t offer any other advice. I for some reason continue to eat here because they do have gluten free bread most of the time and the subs are decent plus it’s the closest one to my work. But for corporate to urge me to visit another location solely based on the fact they know the owner is a hag is crazy. Someone else needs to take over this location.

First off, I love Tubby’s! I’ve been a fan since I was a child, so this is strictly a review about this particular franchise. With that being said, I have been coming to this location for the past 6 years due to the convenience. I have never once felt completely satisfied with my visit due to lack of customer service, chintzy portions and the disregard for my time. There is always only one woman working, whom I assume is the owner. She has absolutely zero people skills. I’ve always just dealt with it, but today took the cake! And now I’m still irritated… HOURS after my experience… enough to find myself here on Unilocal.I walked in today and had to wait a good 4 or 5 minutes before I was greeted, even though I can hear rattling in the background. .but hey! Whatever is going on in the back, I’m sure is more important than assisting the few customers you have left. When she finally made her way to the front she grumbles a «hi.» I said, «hi, how are you?» And she literally just looked at me and said nothing! Umm… ok…“I’ll have a Tubby’s Famous and the fried mushrooms”… «No you won’t…“she replies. I said, «Excuse me???» And she points behind her to show me there is no fryer. I compassionately asked what happened, assuming it broke or maybe there was a grease fire or something(and maybe she was having a bad day and that’s why she was so unfriendly) but no, she told me she was cleaning it. Seriously??? She had absolutely no sides to offer me aside from a bag of chips. How about you take care of those sorts of things outside your hours of operation?! They’re not even open that late to begin with. There was no apology or anything to suffice the inconvenience. On top of that, I swear they serve half the amount of ingredients that you would find in a normal Tubby’s sub. AND she charges 75 cents I think for a ½ or possibly 1oz side of Tubbys sauce. Also, the cookie I got today was super crispy and a little burnt. I cannot imagine that they were fresh. I really don’t know how they are still in business. Do yourself a favor and drove the extra 3 miles to the 14 mile and Rochester Rd location. They are always super friendly, quick, and they don’t rip you off.

If you like Tubby’s, this is one of a few in the area. I always come here even though I always say it’ll be my last time. It’s just not as friendly as the other Tubby’s locations.

I don’t understand how this place is still in business. Today was probably my 3rd time I’ve ever been here after living in the area for years, but it will definitely be my last. I’m pretty sure the lady who works here is either the owner or manager as she’s always the only one there. She has no people skills whatsoever… I really don’t know why she chose a career dealing with customers. Each time I’ve walked in she never greeted me or smiled, and made me feel as though I had totally ruined her day by walking through the front door. Today I walked in 1 hour before closing and she made an obvious long look at the clock as if to imply I had interrupted her pre-closing ritual or something. I proceed to place my order(tiny cup of ranch is $ 1.20, really??) and after finally settling on the toppings, sides, etc., I hand her my credit card. At which point she points(without a word) to a sign on the counter that her credit card machine is not working. In this day and age when most consumers pay with credit or debit, why not preface the order by informing me of this? She suggested I go to the gas station’s ATM. Sorry lady, but I’m not about to pay $ 5 in ATM fees in order to purchase your sub-par subs with overpriced sides. I politely said thanks but no thanks and ended up going across the street to Subway. I suspect this Tubby’s will be in a world of hurt once Penn Station Subs opens up across the street. I’m truly surprised she hasn’t gone out of business already considering she rarely appears to have any customers and her lack of customer service skills.
