Great place to get a tattoo. Amazing customer service, they really care about their clients. Amazing artists also. I got my tattoo today and it was my first tattoo. They made great recommendations as well as attention to me today.

I stumbled upon this gem for a reason. Charlie did my tattoo yesterday and he did such an amazing job! All if the staff was very friendly and outgoing. I had went to another shop and was denied the right for freedom of art and went here and he did exactly what I wanted! I will be returning to see Charlie many many times again! Very clean shop, great atmosphere and caring employees what more can you ask for.

Traditions has become my favorite VA tattoo parlor. I have gotten two tattoos here. One November 2013 and one today. First one by Killian and today was by Charlie, the owner. Both are really nice guys and easy to talk to. I would have been here more often but having a baby puts a delay on tattoos for a little while.

I walked in the door of the cozy shop and was greeted by Killian. I felt right at home in moments! We talked over what I wanted done he drew it up and set up to do my tattoo. Every one there chatted and laughed like we were old friends. I had a great time while getting a tattoo that in the two days I’ve had it many many people told me how great it looks. I’m very happy with the shop, the artists and the final product. Killian went into great detail on how to correctly care for my new artwork and I felt good about it when I left the building!
I have found the shop for our family!

I live on the west coast but I have been in search of a place to come to whenever I come back to VA to visit and that search has officially ended.
This place rules!
I had found Tara’s art online through some mutual friends and was blown away. Came in to get something I had already planned and by the time I had left I had already put down a deposit for next time I am in town.
Tara is one hell of an artist and does amazing work. What I loved even more is that she takes pride in all of her work.
Also spent a lot of time talking with Killian who is also killer!
What really ended up being the cherry on top though was a couple came in to try and get a walk in tattoo on their hands and they had no other visible tattoos. The shop refused to tattoo the hands with their lack of tattoos. Anyone who will chose the morally right choice over making a quick buck such as this shop has done is something that is very honorable and I have endless amounts of respect for this whole shop!

I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get a tattoo! I have several tattoos done by Henry aka Hen Roc, he does amazing work. Fresh lines. I wouldnt change him for anything! everyone at Traditions Tattoo Parlor are very nice!

I had a friend get a few tattoos here and her friend brought up the fact of visiting the shop for a future tattoo. We went one afternoon and it was a little hidden for sure. I went inside and was greeted instantly by some dude at the counter. He was the only person on the floor at the moment. I told him I wanted to set up an appointment and my artist HAD to love Pokemon. Instantly, Killian (my artist) comes running out the door the other room and says «I heard Pokemon.» I laughed and shook his hand and said «You’re my artist.» We talked about the design and he sat down with me and made sure I absolutely wanted this tattoo. I appreciated that he double checked to make sure it’s something I really wanted. We made the appointment and I signed a paper and paid my deposit. He told me he’s have it ready in a few days. I came back a few days later and he showed me a kick ass design. There was only one issue I had with something being out of scale but he fixed it right away. The day came, he set up the station and got everything ready. The chair/​bed thing I sat in was a little awkward but not my biggest concern. The tattoo took a few hours and it hit some pretty bad nerves. The overall piece is beautiful in color. The price was a little less than he had original estimated and I am quite glad because I needed the money I could save from that. The atmosphere was really nice. My friend who came said he enjoyed being in the shop and it made him think about getting his tattoo someday. He really liked the vibe of the shop and the awesome personality. The shop music was excellent taste. I could name almost every song that came on. They handed me a very well typed instruction sheet and like few shops, I actually got some tattoo healing stuff. I had previously bought some of the lotions and creams I use for my other tattoos but they had warned me about some of the dangers of those products. Luckily enough I got a tattoo after that one at another shop so I am using the products on booth tattoos and they work amazing. They keep my tattoos very moisturized. Overall really pleased with this shop and coming back for a couple pieces in the future. If you have any Pokemon tattoo requests then ask for Killian or Tara. Their passion in Pokemon will determine a great tattoo.

As soon as my husband and I walked in we felt as if we walked into a friends living room. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. All 3 artists and the owner made us feel like old friends. They all were so helpful. The shop is extremely clean. I was tattooed by Killian and needless to say I will be going to no one else. My husband was tattooed by Corey and is definitely going back for some logo work. The owner Charlie spoke to us in length about about tattoo care and the importance of sterilization. I can not say enough good things about the shop and artists.

Tara was amazing!!! She was so helpful with assisting me with designing my tattoo and picking out the correct colors. I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo! I don’t live here, but when I come back to town I will definitely see Tara for another tattoo. I would recommend her to anyone.

The owner and staff is so friendly and very knowledgeable! I go here to get my work done all the time and result after result, I don’t go anywhere else! I have very sensitive skin (allergic to everything!) and they care for me and my skin more than ANY other shop I have been too and that alone is worth every penny!
Love the Atmosphere in the shop and love the aftercare products (aftercare was major issue with my allergies, not anymore)

I’m 17 and I want a small tattoo on my ankle. Knowing it could be a problem for some shops to tattoo minors, I called ahead. While talking to the man who works at the shop, I asked if it would be ok for me to come in with my mom, my birth certificate and our drivers licenses. He said that it should be fine, that they do tattoo minors, but that it was ultimately up to the owner, Charlie. And then I asked if they were available tonight and he said yes. Assuming that it meant I had more than a 50% chance of getting the tattoo, I got all of my identification and set out on the hour long trip there just for him to tell me that they don’t tattoo minors UNLESS ITS A FRIENDS KID… and then he made up some COMPLETE bull crap about how the laws changed and something about birth certificates not being official and stuff like that. And then he tried to get me to come back and he kept repeating that he was a «clean shop» and that they’ll take «great care of me» and other crap like that. If they had been up front and told me they don’t do minors in the first place, it would have been no problem. At all. But being lied to, and then driving 2 hours and using a ton of gas is just unacceptable. The shop is also in a very sketchy looking complex. I wouldn’t recommend going here, especially if you value honesty in businesses. Hope this helped make your decision NOT to go here.

Where to start??? We found this gem and went in to speak with an artist about the piece each of us wanted to get. We were greeted by Charlie, the owner, as well as the rest of the staff, and felt very welcome, even though we were only there to talk about the pieces. The shop is immaculately clean and comfortable.
We made appointments for our tattoos and arrived, again, to be met by friendly, knowledgeable staff! We were both instructed how to care for our tattoos, how to use the products and what to expect. I felt very comfortable and certain the shop is as clean as they come! Even though my tattoo was small, it was intricate. Charlie made me feel it was just as important as anyone else’s tattoo, and took great lengths to do an incredible job.
I can’t say enough great things about this shop, the staff or the owner! This will be the place I refer anyone to!!!
