This used to be my go-​to place for anything that comes from four hooves however, lately the customer service from the butchers has been less than service oriented. My past three interactions (three separate visits) asking for a product to be split and wrapped, slicing something smaller and then today, asking for a certain product, have been met with curtness and today, downright rudeness. It wasn’t even busy; four extremely rotund, slow-​moving butchers standing around…
Three strikes and you’re out!
Unfortunate also, as I always gave Brine’s our catering account. Not any more.

Brines meat and deli are fantastic. You can get recommendations for the grill or your smoker at the meat counter (cuts of meat and cooking or smoking tips).
The deli has great potato salads (Buds bacon) or the broccoli salad yum.
They the chili con queso and guacamole are my families favorites.

We’ve recently moved to the area and Brine’s is one of my favorite places of any kind. We’ve bought stuff from the butcher, deli, salads, produce and bottled goods and have been very happy with them all. Perhaps the best part is the friendly staff, especially the folks behind the counters. In short, this is a great local institution that continues to put out great food with even better service.

We ordered the full Thanksgiving meal from Brines this year and I could not have been more pleased! I was coming into town from Chicago and didn’t have the time to prepare a meal myself, nor did I want my Grandparents to do all the work themselves — this was the perfect option. The meal came with a full turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, rolls & cranberry relish. Everything was fabulous, I’d definitely recommend!

Bacon Wrapped stuffed chicken breast with jalapeños…best find at any store ever!
Great little market with yummy offerings. The salads and sandwich bar rule.
We’ve found great bread there are as well.
This isn’t your average grocery store — it’s a great change of pace that has a ton to offer.

This is a very unique grocery/​deli in Stillwater. Lots of handcrafted meats and unusual grocery items but the center of attention is the fantastic deli. They always have a great daily special, but, the sandwiches is where it is at. The muffalletta is amazing.

A good meat market is priceless! These guys have never led me astray, no matter how many weird recipes I bring in, or weird questions I ask. While they are indeed a Stillwater tradition, they are not nearly as snobby or elitist as other so-​called Stillwater institutions/​traditions and I really appreciate that!
Definitely try their sandwiches, but also the Porchetta: super simple idea for a hearty and fast Minnesotan dinner. Their frozen burger patties are surprisingly good, too.

It is true Brine’s is a Stillwater institution. As a kid going to the Brine’s Meat Market and Restaurant in Downtown Stillwater (that location is now the Brine’s Bar and Restaurant) the building and first floor had a such a distinct smell that would transcend you back in time. The original Brine’s building burned long ago and it was so sad. They also made the best sandwiches and had the BEST buns on the planet.
The newer location is newer, updated and still makes sandwiches. Every-​time I’m in Stillwater visiting friends — Brine’s is one of my first stops! It is a must visit for their sandwiches, deli, and other specialty products.
