As a long-time Unilocal reader/recent Unilocal reviewer, I’ve been waiting for an opportunity for some outrage to happen over a business doing something evil. Ding Ding Ding! I have never shopped here and I do not plan to. I have no input on the employees who work at this store and have nothing bad to say about them. However, it is absolutely disgusting what happened to the former girl who worked here and it makes me(and I think a lot of other people) sick. Shame on the CEO of this company for her comments saying her former employee has a «sad body image.» You created the hostile work environment, not the employee you fat-shamed. I do not recommend shopping at establishments like this one as long as they have people in charge like the one who sent the email. I hope we can all use this experience to consider how we view women’s appearances. All women are you beautiful and all women are«model material» — even if the people in charge of businesses like this one do not think so.

Wow. So you only will accept pictures of people who are skinny. No wonder young girls have eating disorders. Shame on you. How shallow you must be! This young girl was beautiful and wore those clothes better than any of your so-called«models». And to think you tried to turn this back on her!!? Good on her for making this story viral. I hope the business suffers because of it. No one should be treated that way.

Jessica Issler seems like a hateful and horrific CEO and I would NEVER contribute to this business.

Will never be supporting a store that shames women. Disgraceful.

«We deleted about 50 pictures, and only two or three of them were of Zarrabi,» Issler said. «I’ve never even met her. She should have just asked the true meaning of the email.» «My No. 1 priority is the safety of my staff, so the evil and lack of positivity is terrifying,» Issler said. «This girl has now created a hostile work environment because she has a sad body image of herself.» «I think the typical standard customer knows what we’re about and knows this topic is irrelevant,» Issler said. «I meant absolutely no hate towards her. «She’s not mentally healthy.» Aaaand the grand finale, «I can definitely see where feelings got hurt and negativity from there festered from something I take full responsibility for,» Issler said in an email to Zarrabi. «I wish you the best of luck and honestly I don’t have any ill or hard feelings toward you and I want to thank you for a very humbling experience.» Jessica Issler took no responsibility for her hateful, archaic comments towards a former employee that had been posting instagram pictures modeling the store’s clothing line. When she says, «…where feelings got hurt and negativity from there festered from SOMETHING i take full responsibility for.» The something that she’s referring to is articulated above. If the general public chooses to support such bigoted, anachronistic behavior, fine. Now you’ll be doing it with intent and awareness of whose pockets your dollars will be padding.

Always like to look at this store when I come to town but I won’t be shopping there anymore after their blatant discrimination. Horrible company and what a stupid name.

I no longer live in Stillwater, but when I did, I thought this store was neat. Never again. Not only do you shame your customers who are not a size«S,» but you contribute to the stigma surrounding mental illness. I am ashamed that I ever set foot in this store.

Well, sad to say I have shopped here before. The customer service was dreadful, but I blamed that on being located in a town not known for great retail service in general. And now I find that they would rather tear women down instead of celebrate the diversity of our gender. Depressing. Also, calling someone mentally unhealthy because they stood up for themselves and deleting all the comments criticizing you does not make a problem go away. You just make yourself and your company look even worse. And you offend a lot of people with real mental health struggles(body confidence and standing up to jerks isn’t actual a mental illness, FYI) in the process. Good job.

If your managers are indicative of how you handle business, then I hope you fail. You’re in the business of empowering women through fashion. Not shaming them. Congratulations on your ignorance. I hope y’all fail miserably!

What a disgrace. I have shopped at this store many times on my visits home, and have always felt uncomfortable shopping here due to the snooty employees(even when spending hundreds of dollars here… clearly a big mistake) but now I can see that its the fault of the owners/upper management. How disgusting. For a woman to put another woman down that way and body shame her… YOU are only fueling the problem, ma’am. People like this are the reason younger women have self-image issues.
