This place was great. Off the beaten path, huge space and super quiet. The staff was very friendly. Sites and facilities were very clean. Prices reasonable. No cable though. Cell service is spotty at best as well, but hey you are in the mountains, enjoy the silence!

Very nice family camp ground. Next it will have a brand new pool.

Nice, quiet campground. Note, apparently they don’t normally accept bikers(not sure why but possibly the road gets muddy?) but I slipped in somehow. For my sins, that put me at the far end of the campground. I originally thought this area housed bears, which shot the paranoia levels up somewhat, but fortunately for my addled mind, it really was all in my head. WP have all the amenities — the wierdest shower setup ever — pop a quarter in, twist a couple of knobs and then the water shoots forth. Apparently one quarter is good for 3 rounds of the timer, but I could only get it to work once, so make sure you take enough quarters just in case. There is also free wifi in the communal area and shop/café here so you can hunker down to update your fb/yelp/flickr accounts if you are that way inclined. Or charge up a cell/camera/mobile if they are dead. Yup, got me on all of the above. I also managed to sneak in some washing. Fortunately here, you can get change easily for the showers and laundry. WP also has a lovely little store where I went a little crazy shopping for all those important things you need when camping — smores essentials, a telescopic skewer(how cool is that?) plus handy items like bug juice(worked much better than the one I had prior to that), individual Tide sachets etc. Considering location-wise it is a little far from a shop or market, this is a blessing. It’s a relatively friendly place, with bible-meets on a Sunday — optional and not forced upon you, thankfully for heathens like myself — and it’s a combination camp and RV site with that looks like plenty of regular permanent setups based there. It’s close to Rickett’s Glen as well, so if you are in the area to check the waterfalls out, then you would do worse than to stop here for the night.
