White Barn Estates

DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! It used to be HEW Rentals, it is now Summit Properties. They own White Barne Duplexes, White Barn Estates as well as Well Springs Studio Apartments on Virginia St and several other properties around Stillwater. Janice is the main receptionist, or maybe she’s the office manager. Who knows, the staff changes ALL THE TIME! She is incredibly rude and unprofessional. She told me the owner, Henry, is a «horrible man» with «not one nice bone in his body». She once told me that our neighbors were «minorities taking advantage of the system» because they were on housing. Granted, they were awful neighbors but she broke privacy laws all over the place. I found out from her way more than I needed to know. Their «policies» change without notice. When there was a discrepancy regarding dates, I asked Janice why the dates have changed and she responded with «why does it matter?». Cody USED to be the main guy but I heard he got caught cooking the books and stealing. The new management seems to be worse than the one in charge when we moved in (1.5 years ago) and that’s saying something. There’s always trash everywhere from the recycling plant (i.e., trash dump) next door. My sons bike was stolen out of our garage in the middle of the day. Cars speed through the neighborhood where kids play and they do nothing. They’re never open. Not a good place for a family… or anyone for that matter. Save yourself the distress and look somewhere else.

This place is kind of a hidden gem. They have a really nice mini-​golf course – the only one I know of in Stillwater – as well as bumper boats, inflatables, and more. It’s a bit on the pricy side, but it’s a great place to take the whole family, and really one of a kind in this neck of the woods.
We visited for the first time today and the employees told us that they’ve been under new management since January, and recently had a grand opening, so hopefully the concerns mentioned in the previous review about never being open have been resolved.
The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is that they still seem to be a bit disorganized. When we went today, the place was pretty empty and there really weren’t adequate signs to tell us where to park or to pay to play mini-​golf – we simply had to wander around until we saw an employee. Hopefully they’re in the process of getting their act together. If they do, this will be a really special place for Stillwater to have.

This place is never open. Apart from being there 3 years ago to play miniature golf, every other time we’ve tried to go they have been closed, even if we are there during their posted «operating» hours regardless if the time if year; spring, summer or fall. Afternoon? Nope. Early evening? Zip. Saturday at noon? Nada. Friday at 7:30 pm? Zilch. We keep assuming it is closed down but it is clearly kept up. In spite of the signage we assume that it is only open during special events such as weddings. Good luck to you!
