I believe this is one of the best salon’s in Georgia. These women take great pride in what they do with and for natural hair. From the time you walk in until the time you leave it is an awesome experience. Lajoyce and her team are seasoned professionals in natural haircare.
They will consult, guide and help you to have the best natural hair styles and healthy hair.

So my appointment was at 8 am. I will admit I was late about 15 minutes because I couldn’t find the establishment. I was calling them and they didn’t answer. But finally they answered and led me right to them. I was a bit perturbed when I got there because someone was already in the chair. Nonetheless, I waited. So my stylist finally got me around 9:15 :-(. So when she got started I was HAPPY. Unfortunately, someone came in and wanted a consultation. My stylist decided to stop and do a consultation for about 20 – 30 minutes. (WTH) where does that happen. So she came back after her consultation. And started again. She finally got me under the dryer with my roller set. It took about 1 or 1 ½ hours to roll my hair. I don’t know if this is the norm but whatever. Well I got dry and she took my rollers out. And asked me if I want her to pull them apart… Well DUH. She started to pull them apart and a phone call came in and she walked off to look in the computer for appointments. At this point and 4 hours later I told her that I had to go and I would pull them myself. I felt like this establishment was NOT professional. It was freezing in there, my stylist was EXTREMELY slow. The other stylists had multiple people come and leave. She continuously stopped to do other things. It was also not the cleanest place. I used the restroom and they had no paper towels to dry my hands, it was early and hair was all over the floor looking like it was from the previous day or longer. I was really disappointed. I won’t be going back. I’m definitely not a fan of sitting anywhere for more than a couple of hours to get my hair done. And I definitely do not think that you should be doing other things when you should be servicing a client.

Worst experience ever! I went for two-​strand twists with extensions and left extremely unsatisfied and disappointed. I brought in a youtube video of the style I wanted and it seemed that Lajoyce completely ignored the hair style that I actually came to the salon for and created something on her own, which was horrible. She twisted very loosely, which caused the twists to unravel. The twists ended up looking like a hot mess! And to make it even worse, my appointment was at 10am and I left around 7:30! Needless to say, I removed the two-​strand twists within the next few days!

I went to The Art of Gem as a first time customer needless to say, I was not impressed and will not go back. Although everyone was friendly from the receptionist to the owner, my first issue was that the stylist arrived 30 mins late for the appointment was set. I was not a walk in client. I gave her a photo of what I would like my hair to look like and I’m not delusional, I didn’t expect it to be an exact replica but definitely close. It was a two strand twist style in a partial up-​do. The size of the twist in the photo I gave her were medium to large, the size of the twist I ended up with were micro. The side of my hair that was twisted flat… the twist did not lay completely flat and there was hair sticking out of the twist before I even got home. For an appointment that was set for 1pm there is no reason I should have been there until 6pm. I believe in supporting small business but I cannot in good conscious recommend this salon to anyone.
