I miss this place so much! Food reminded me of home. Wished they never closed. I do wonder why.

Very delicious Cambodian food! Love it here. I recommend the papaya salad, chicken on a stick, and beef stew noodle soup. Full of flavor

Delicious, fresh tasting spring rolls, but kinda skimpy on the shrimp-ies. Every picture on the wall & menu advertises each roll with at least 3 shrimp per roll and every roll I’ve ever gotten only has 1. The beef sticks are good– sweet, tangy, reddish/orange & come out fast when ordered either to go or to stay. If you like Phở, you will love their soups. Broth is super flavorful with just enough spice to give you dragons breath for the next hour. Meat/seafood is well cooked, not over done. Massive quantities for a good price(I think it’s 6 $ regular &7 $ large, don’t quote me on that though) be prepared for leftovers! My husband always gets the sandwiches and hasn’t been disappointed yet. «Good slaw to meat ratio, not too spicy, bread is squishy with nice crunchy outsides. Fatman happy.» End quote. Good service & people are overall friendly. Although it seems like sometimes takeout can take longer than it does to eat in. B to B+

If you want authentic park food, this is the place to go. I love their spicy papaya. My favorite is with 10 peppers but people aren’t really on that level. So a good 5 peppers will do the trick. Also. The sausage and sticky rice combo is a must.

The people are always friendly here! The inside is nice and clean. Prices are great too :) I’d say it’s the one of the best Cambodian restaurants in Stockton!(Although the new Cambodian Restaurant on March lane has now beaten them as my new fave Cam place) I love their papaya salad with noodles here :) I just wish they had more variety.

They advertise themselves as the best papaya salad in town. Really? Sorry — inedible. Tasted seriously fishy… and not in the good nuoc mam/fish sauce way. It just tastes kind of rancid. We tasted it and kinda gagged and left it alone. Server didn’t care that it wasn’t touched and didn’t ask how our food was the entire time. We also ordered the beef stick appetizer — tasted like mystery meat and that fake red bbq flavor and fat. And lukewarm. Yuck. The two entrees we ordered: chicken stir fry(chau lol luk?) and beef garlic watercress we’re not good, per se, but at least not off putting/rancid tasting like the papaya salad and the beef stick. But they were boring and forgettable and lacked any interesting flavor. The one good thing — hence the 1 star — was the DELICIOUS sausage. It was stuffed with everything, potatoes, herbs, meat, etc… and super flavorful and very very interesting. Still kinda lukewarm but we devoured anyway since the rest of the meal was laughably bad. Another good thing? The place was clean, which we appreciate. But a good sausage and clean bathrooms won’t bring us back. There’s a reason this place was(and will likely continue to be) empty.

I love their papaya salad… It has that balance of sweet, sour, lemony and saltiness combo. Ugh OMG simply the best.

My friends and I had dinner here on a weekday night. They’ve been here previously and have had the skewers and Pad Thai which they recommend so I thought I would try it out. When we came in, the place was empty, but the waitress was nice and had a smile on her face. We sat ourselves and we our menus were brought to us. Service was great, water was constantly being refilled and we were always checked up upon. We ordered 5 sausages, 5 chicken skewers, and 5 beef skewers. My friends enjoyed the skewers, but I wasn’t exactly used to the taste. They had this red paste that it was grilled with that is similar to Char Siu pork. I wasn’t able to judge the skewers because I don’t exactly like the flavor of the paste. The sausages were ok, but the lemongrass inside the sausages were cut into pretty big pieces and it was very off putting. We also had the porridge and the Pork and Egg Stew. The porridge was decent, but the meat had a funky smell like it wasn’t cleaned properly. Same went for the Pork in the stew. My friends were also disappointed because they had recommended this place and it turned out to not be as great as thy had initially thought. All in all, food was pretty off putting and its been a while since I’ve been to an eating establishment and have had food that I have not been able to eat. I won’t be coming back.

Amazing place! We have been eating the owners food since they were serving in the park. We are fiercely loyal to the quality of the food and awesome service. The Papaya salad is the best in region. I like to pair it with some sticky rice and sweet and spicy sausages.

This was the most disgusting meal I have ever eaten. I ordered a chicken stick, beef stick, and sweet/spicy sausage with sticky rice. I had one bite of the beef stick and almost gagged, it consisted of 90% fat. The chicken stick was fatty, dry, and old tasting. .too. The sausage was cold. I mentioned it to the waiter, handed him my uneaten meal… he didn’t apologize or offer anything else in its place. First clue should have been the empty restaurant when we walked in. Won’t be BACK!!! Wish I had the option to leave no stars or ½ star!!!

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but it was not good. I ordered chow mein and broccoli beef. The chow mein was OK, but greasy. The broccoli beef was tough and cold. I was so looking forward to this place opening as I work right around the corner but I was disappointed.

Ordered the sticky rice and sausage… so disappointed. The sausage was obviously old, it was cold and tasted dry and old. Besides the worker guy being nice, I would’ve given this place one star. Food quality is below the quality found at angel Cruz park

Lucky Star Grill on E Hammer Ln in Stockton, California. Unilocal challenge 23⁄100 Note: Takes ATM/Credit Tip: Has restrooms Pro Tip: Has some cool Khmer music playing in the back ground. NFL tip; They have food specials on Thursday & Friday. New location Tip. On the West side of I-5 and Hammer Ln, right behind the Jack N da Box. So there is a lot of parking. Inflation tip: prices did go up a little, but nothing major. Lucky Star Grill moved to a bigger and better location in my hometown. Inside it’s all new and very spacy. The customer service has always been on point here and at the other location on N El Dorado. The guy working the front counter is very nice, I do like that a lot. What I did love that he remembered me and my little girl. A+ for that one Loco Bottom line my kids love meat on a stick and sticky rice. Like I said in my previous review. it’s the closet we can get to park food. If you’re from Stockton then you should know about Angel Cruz park and Oak Park. If you didn’t now you know. So far we came twice to new location, my youngest daughter and get the stuff we like. sticky rice, meat on stick, banh mi and she tried out the combo plates that they sell here. I took pictures of the combo plates and they are pretty chunky chunks. In my opinion the food is really good here, The sweet sausages are on hit. I like tearing them into chunks and eating them with my sticky rice. The meat on the stick are hella cool, just the right amount of meat on them. But the price went up on them. From two for a buck to a buck for one. The Banh Mi sandwiches are very good, my new favorite here is the sausage sandwich, straight legit. My daughter enjoyed her orange chicken and chow mien combo she had twice. I had some of hers both times and it tasted yummy. I have not tried the Ka Tieu * Cambodian soup* or the BorBor * rice porridge yet. it’s on my next future visits. Oh and I want to try their papaya salad. So I’ll add more to this review instead of doing an update review. So Lucky Star Grill hit the homerun at the old spot and the new spot. All I got to do now is round up my other two kids and bring them here. Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola aka Vincent Vega Always, Enjoying the simple things in life.

Same great food! Better Location! There are price changes but it’s worth it. The new location is off of Hammer and Mariners drive opposite Taco Bell. The staff even seem happier.
