I had my daughters birthday in their banquet room. The owner Maria is so sweet and nice. I highly suggest this place if you want great customer service and wonderful delicious food.

During the 12 years we lived in Stockton this was my favorite Mexican restaurant. Visiting tidy had to get food to take home. Gravy & cheese is delicious.

Good established institution. Excellent service. Food is good. My friend had the Chile reneno and I had the red snapper. The décor is dated but the food is good. Our server was very nice.

This is a hole in the wall kind of place… and we love it. Husband and I and two toddlers eat well and enjoy the food. Picky toddlers but they finish their plates here. Staff is friendly enough and service has always been fairly prompt. Not the cheapest in town but we get great coupons and make a night of it. Not as authentic as other restaurants but not taco bell either lol

Although I have friends that love this place, I have never been a fan myself. Today I decided to give it a chance because we were in Stockton and driving right by. Well, Miguel’s only confirmed what I had already known. The salsa is horrible, always has been. The food is bland and also expensive. $ 29.00 for myself and two kids and all they had was a cheese quesadilla and a cup of rice(I had a chicken taco.) Should’ve headed back to Lodi and went to one of our favorite places, El Maguey– Reasonably priced and much better food! Even the service at Miguel’s is lacking.

We’ve been going to Miguel’s to get their chicana since I was a baby. My husband and I wanted Mexican food at our wedding so of course we went to Miguel’s. Maria is wonderful and so is her staff. After the food was served we invited them to join the party. We ordered chicken, cheese and beef enchiladas, chicken chicana, chile rellenos, rice, beans and salad. It came with tortillas and chips with salsa. Every single person there commented on how delicious it was. My cousin who grew up eating my grand father’s chicana even said Miguel’s chicana was the best he’s ever had. It was absolutely a great experience with Miguel’s from the start to the end.

Nasty! Went to a birthday party and ordered beef quesadillas. The worst I ever had. Whitewashed is the best description. Other guests felt the same about their dish that they ordered.

I ordered food to go at 8:10a.m because the business had opened up at 8am. They told me my chorizo breakfast burrito would be ready in 15 mins. So, I show up at 8:30, and my meal wasn’t even made. I was very frustrated, I continued standing there until 8:51 when I finally received my very small chorizo burrito. I’m disappointed in not offering me a seat, any, or even some chips and salsa! Since when did it take 40+mins to make a burrito that takes 60 seconds? The best part, they weren’t even packed. Maybe 6 — customers. I have enjoyed this place a lot in the past but this was my worst experience.

The place to be on Wednesday where the tacos are two for $ 3.00. I love, love, love the pork tacos. They also have a chicken and beef choice as well. The bartender, who is great, makes great drinks. It is a very nice and inexpensive way to spend a Wednesday evening.

Place is good. Nice environment, feels like home. 4 stars only because I ordered the grande burrito, but it was warm temperature… Felt like it was sitting on the counter for 30 minutes. I would try again.

The food is NOBUENO! First off I ordered the pork quesadilla and it taste as if it was frozen and just warmed up and served on a regular tortilla. The flavor was very bland and sad to say taste like throw up. my daughter ordered the chicken taco and enchilada and that was also very bland and had no flavor it was like they just threw it in a shell with lettuce and tomato, nasty. my wife ordered the beef soup and tasted like shit also, no flavor. its was like they just threw beef in hot water. I was very disappointed and sad that I wasted money on this joint. im a fat fuck and love to eat. but this shit made me lose my appetite

I go here knowing the service is going to suck but the food will make up for it. I can’t say that anymore. Food has no flavor and the salsa was just as bad in flavor as the rest of the food. I’ve noticed the quality of the food has gone downhill the last few times I’ve been here but today was the worse. I will not be back

Thanks for providing what in my opinion is some of the best Mexican Food in Stockton, and providing great service that was definitely over and above our last service experience. Love the Salsa! I usually order the beef taco and cheese enchilada, and as always they were delicious. We will be back

As much as I want to like this place the food has gone downhill, which is maybe why they are constantly on groupon. We have been coming here for years and in the last year or so theres been a change in the quality of food. Service is a hit or miss. If your looking for quality food you might as well go to somewhere else unless you want to be disappointed.

First, the food is excellent, which is why I have continued to put up with… … their horrible service. I’ve been going to Miguel’s for more than a decade, best salsa. Awesome gravy, and they used to have a couple of good(not-related-to-the-owner) servers. Seems like the service began to decline when they added the banquet room. Keeps getting worse. Went in this afternoon with my mom, who had never been there. There was only one server. We stood waiting for several minutes until I indicated we would seat ourselves. AWHILE after that, the waitress(seems new) decided to visit our table. Didn’t seem to think we needed a menu or drinks. My order was wrong(I didn’t say anything because, while mildly annoyed, the food was still good), she forgot our salads, no refills, but… when I got my check, they charged me extra for grilled chicken, which they have never done, and I get it every time. They explained that it costs more. Than«regular» chicken?! Yes, they said, because they have to cook it «right away»(unlike shredded chicken, which they explained is cooked in the morning). So, a restaurant is charging more for having to COOK my food??? They said that the menu stated that grilled costs more & grabbed a menu but couldn’t locate the disclaimer. It ended with 2 waitresses throwing our waitress under the bus for not telling me that it would cost more. It was petty and unprofessional, and as much as I love their food, I also love good service. This petty crap is adding up and La Palma and Casa Flores/Ben Holt might be my go-to places from now on.

I’ve met Maria, one of the owners of the restaurant, at the dog park plenty of times and have gotten to know her on a personal level. After she told me about owning Miguel’s, I was shocked because I ALWAYS pass the restaurant on the way to the mall! I’ve been getting into the habit of not going to food chain restaurants and supporting local businesses. So what the hey! Why not? I’ve only been to Arroyo’s for a Mexican sit down restaurant, and every other time it’s always been fast food for me… Totally unbiased review, this was one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve ever been to. Their salsa is to DIEFOR. It’s like a tomato saucy salsa that just is so friggin unique and amazing! I can’t remember what I got the first time I came because I came after my last final and decided to booze up… I know whatever it was, it was awesome! Hahaha. I only remember eating beans. That was pretty bomb. I guess that me eating beans won’t completely persuade you to come. But they’ve got some great margaritas! HAHA. I’ve come about four or five times since May, and it’s always a packed house. The waitresses are mainly college students, which I always like to include in my reviews because it’s great to support the students. Definitely give this place a try because you’ve got nothing to lose! *other than my memory of what I’ve ate here ;)*

Ok the chips are good which is usually a good sign. The salsa has a good flavor but is not hot unless you request it hot. The lunch burrito is the big one the temp was warm and had good flavor. Kid ate his whole bean burrito and the wife had a taco lunch also good. We would come here again
