We just almost lost my grandfather because of the horrible care that is provided from this facility. He started getting sicker and sicker and they did not seek to notice, nor did they seem to care or want to do anything when we voiced our concerns. He had not eaten for about 10 days and we asked for fluids they said they needed to tested first. Then 24 hrs later his results came back severely low electrolyte levels. He ended up at the ER and the ICU for 10 days. Luckily he is improving but still was a horrible experience. They lost his clothing and personal items and we have yet to get a single call back from the only RN that seems to work there…

I would recommend Wagner heights to others. The staff amazing. I felt comfortable and at ease when my grandmother was staying there. The nurses took great care of her. The facility was nice and clean and up to date. Stephanie in the admissions departments was very helpful and assured me that my grandmothers stay will be well taken care of.

Cold food 90% served, the cooks are paid minimum wage and can’t perform, therefore the food is extremely poor. Your loved one will lie in their own feces, urine, and vomit for up to an hour before someone comes to clean them up. This is true hell on earth.

My father in law has been struggling with PSP for many years now. Progressive supranuclear palsy, is an uncommon brain disorder that causes serious problems with walking, balance and eye movements. The disorder results from deterioration of cells in areas of your brain that control body movement and thinking. When he had fallen, one too many times, the doctors felt it would be in his best interest if he was placed here. He had fallen again and hit his head again. Upon arrival, he fought them, threw a tantrum, but still the staff here made him as comfortable and welcome without the use of drugs due to his condition. We visited him the first day and we were all pleased with how well maintained the facility is. They placed him in a private room with a sliding glass door that overlooks the serene courtyard. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. My father in law goes from a state of being aware to being in and out of dementia. So for him, he’d like staying there one moment and then sobbing to go home. I hope you don’t have to go through this with your parents’. One part of the facility is more of a nursing home and the area where my father in law is placed is more catered towards rehabilitation. We are in hopes that he will only stay for a few weeks but for now, this is in his best interest. I’m confident the staff here are all English speaking and I didn’t have any difficulties understanding what they were saying. There was a Jamaican lady who was a CNA, she spoke with an accent but I understood what she said. I’m not speaking for every person that works here but the staff we came across were all fluent. For us, Wagner Heights gives us comfort that he is being watched and properly cared for in his condition.

This place is disgusting and I’m highly upset my grandmother had to come to this facility. The last time I came here before now was in 1995 and everything still looks the same. My grandmother is here right now and I hate the care she is receiving from her so called«CNA’s». My grandmother had a wet diaper for two hours no one changed it. They left her in her wheelchair and she asked them to put her into bed and a few hours passed and no one helped her. The workers here don’t care about the patients and majority of the workers talk to them in a condescending tone and I hate it oh so much. You hear patients calling out for CNA’s but none of them help. I hope this place gets the much needed attention from authorities to get this place together, or shut this facility down.

Do not leave your elderly love ones unattended. The staff is at least 90% asian with an asian Director of Nurses. They speak in their language, the continue time after time to administer the wrong medicines. If your loved one is unresponsive or just don’t know they will give them anything. Some have wound up in the hospital due to this negligence. They do not bother to answer the emergency light most of the time leaving the elderly to die. Scary

My learning from the nursing home care that my 91 year old mother received was this: The more that the staff sees you, the better care your parent or relative will receive. They learn that you will be there often, so it makes them do their job better. Also, if you have a parent with Alzheimers, do not allow them to keep any valuables on them or in their room. Those will«be lost». My mother’s wedding rings were taken off her finger and never seen again. They told me my mother«lost» them. Try to build communication with the nursing staff that is responsible for your loved one. Communication is key!
