Dr. Eugene Mickey and Associates

My son is 9 and has been going to Dr Mickey since he was 3! We love this office. All the hygienists are professional and great with my son. When he was smaller, he was very afraid to get X-​rays (the little white things they put in to see between your teeth) but they helped him by gently coaxing and letting me go with him. Last but not least, who doesn’t LOVE Dr Mickey? He is so great with the kids and always has great stories. He did such a great job when my son had to have a tooth pulled… It was done before my son realized it! Love, love this office!!!

I have been taking my two sons to Dr. Mickey’s office since 2005, and have had the pleasure of interacting with several different doctors and hygienists. We have had basic cleanings and unfortunately 5 or 6 cavities, most recently just 2 days ago.
I strongly recommend Dr. Mickey’s office based on several factors.
1) WONDERFUL FACILITY: this place is EXACTLY what a kids dentist office should look like… bright colors, fun posters and wall art, and several walls of paper teeth cutouts with kids’ names on them for special recognition to your little patient.
2) AMAZING STAFF: I have never had one issue with the billing office at all, everything has always been handled perfectly. The hygienists and doctors are all wonderful, kind, professional, and really geared toward working with children.
3) DEEP EXPERTISE IN PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY: you will not find a better pediatric dentist office… I’m not just talking about cleanings, I’m talking about a root canal for a 7 year old boy that he described as FUN. Yes. He was so enthralled with the story of the «cavity bugs» that the skillful practitioners were able to insert a needle into his mouth unbeknownst to him, numb the area, and do the work… the kid never cried or even knew that such a dramatic thing was occurring. Honestly, I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see if myself. The year before featured an extraction that also went flawlessly!
So, here’s my highest recommendation for Dr. Mickey and his team… they are the best!

I do wish I’d researched before taking my kids here. Terrible office staff, rude and uncaring. Not responsive or sensitive about billing issues.
WORST of all though, is the Dr perservering on with a procedure while my 3^rd grader was screaming he could still feel it. I kid you not, he kept going, while my boy was sobbing and whimpering.
Never, ever use this office.

After recently moving to the area I sent my children for a dental check up with Dr Mickey. He specializes in child dentistry. Unknown to me my dental insurance did not cover $ 28.00 of the bill which come to find out was covered. Four months later I take my two children to Dr Mickey’s office for a follow up visit and I was told that I had a $ 188 outstanding balance. I was told that $ 28 was not covered by my insurance provider and since I did not pay (I didn’t know anything about it) it office policy is to double the fee. Okay… in my book $ 28×2 = $ 56 so why is the bill $ 188?! Good question… The accounts manager came over and said that this seems to be correct and I would have to pay before the Doctor would see my children. I continued to question the math and the stated policy and I stated the fact that I was sure that my insurance would cover the $ 28.00. They replied that even if my insurance paid the $ 28 I would still have to pay the $ 150 late payment fee which by there own admission should be twice the amount of the past due invoice. With so many options when it comes to selecting a dentist you don’t need to have to deal with this sort of issue especially at this level. GOOD LUCK WITH DR MICKEY!
