I have been shopping here for at least 10 years. At first the service was friendly and polite. Needless to say as the years have progressed the service and manegement went on a huge decline. Charching more and caring about being respectful, hounest, and good buisness practices less. There have been numerous occasions where the cashier has made mistakes and charged me more. Especially on produce most of the people who work here dont even know the prices or the diffrences of what produce their selling. For example i bought onions(lets say 2 $ a Lb) and was charged for ginger(10 $ a Lb) thats a HUGE diffence. Then i have to drive there AGAIN to fix there mistakes and get my money back. Another time recently i purchased produce. I get home and attempt to eat some of it and every single fruit was spoiled/rotten on the inside. When i tried to return the fruit the Indian man with the mustache(i think he’s the manager) gave me only a percentage of my money back because i threw out a couple of the fruits. Its was only a couple of bucks. No worries but actions speak louder than words. This place nickle and dimes you for everything. When i tried to reason with him he started arguing with me. Uuughhh hello !!! I pay you every week you idiot! I dont haggle or argue prices and if you charge top dollar then you need deliver on the quality of whatever you are selling. Not come up with excuses and B/S. Another time most recently i went to purchase celery and bread. The celery was literally yellow in color and looked to be over a week or 2 old(with no date on the bag). I then went to the register to pay and the cashier saw that the bread had mold on it, so she threw it away and told me to get another. Unfourtunetly it really sucks to have to say(because id rather support the smaller buisness) but your better off going to whole foods or anywhere else in general. At least at Stop&Shop they dont fight over a few bucks when they make mistakes. The Common Bond Market in Shelton might be a little farther but they sell the same things at around the same prices. They also know the diffrences between Bosc and D’anjou pears and everything else thier selling.

Likes: loose tea isle highly intriguing and plenty of options. Frankincense and Myrrh. very clean store. The people who work there were not cocky, in fact, they were very helpful. Dislikes: Dr. Bronner’s not enough in stock of the Rose in large and the pricing may have been a bit high. Did not carry Giovanni leave in conditioner, did not carry the regular Nag Champa

Been shopping here for the past 6 years since my daughter was diagnosed with multiple food allergies. I went there last night with my two girls to get our usual stuff, which included Willow run soy margarine. Have to admit it was very distracting shopping with my two girls. My 7 yr old took out the box of margarine from the fridge and I didn’t pay attention to the expiration date nor to how the box of margarine looks. When I got home I realized it expired a month ago and the packaging iis slightly torn and contorted on the sides. I went back about half an hour later and the older European woman and younger african-American guy who work there basically accused me of making up the story … To what? To get a free $ 4 margarine? Really… I wonder if they get a lot of customers like this so the employees are cautious or this two people that«ganged-up» on me over a $ 4 margarine are sadly just THAT miserable.

nice small business. good selection at relatively high prices. it’s hard for small businesses to compete with trader joes and wholefoods. they have daiya cheese and vegan spicy tofu sandwiches. the employees are friendly and they know their vitamins and supplements well!

If you are looking for health supplements, natural supplements, vegen foods, and unique herbles, you have to go to Nature’s Way. The store is much bigger than I thought, and you can find almost everything over there. People who work there were really friendly, and was knowledgeable enough to answer the questions and give out answers.

First, this is a small grocery not a restaurant. You’re going to have to either spend some time learning about what’s on the shelves or just make your best guess. They don’t make many products themselves(I’m not sure if the sandwiches and salads are made there or made off site and delivered to them for sale). What you’re going to get from Nature’s Way is a very wide selection of healthy food options and highly knowledgeable staff. You can ask about supplements and someone will give you some excellent advice and help you make a good selection. You can ask about food and again you’ll get some of the science boiled down for non-science types and a few recommendations based upon their experiences with the various products. If you’re vegan, they’ll help you identify vegan options. If you’re vegetarian they’ll point you in a similar direction but with even broader choices. If you’re an omnivore they won’t judge you! I gave them 5 stars because they really are the best health food grocery I know of. There are options for every taste. I recommend going and picking out something you’ve never heard of, ask what it’s made from and how to prepare it and try something new. You can always grab a package of bologna and some wonder bread as a backup, but chances are you’re going to find something new that makes you understand why your vegan and vegetarian friends aren’t stick-thin and grumpy.

one of the best locations in CT for gluten free foods. Dave, the grocery mgr. always brings in new stuff, if he doesn’t have it — he will find it. if you need vitamins or cosmetics ask for Mary — she is the best.

Ed’s reviews ALWAYS make me laugh! But for some reason, I think this was his funniest one yet: «You don’t need to be a vegetarian or a health food nut to appreciate this store. There seems to be something for everybody. Me, I smoke, drink, and eat meat — but I still shop here.» I couldn’t stop laughing after I read that! Anyway. He’s right. I’m a vegetarian(though not an angry, militant, health-food nut) and this place offers every type of herb, supplement, or vitamin you could ever want or need. Their staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They also offer a variety of hard-to-find vegetarian groceries and dry goods. Why four stars? I bought a pre-made baked tofu sandwich here once and it tasted like what I imagine a dead dog’s ass to taste like. So as long as you stay away from their prepackaged sandwiches, you’ll be fine.
