We are disappointed with this new direction of Salerno Pizza! I loved going to the Pizzeria shopping with Mrs Francesca! Hispanic guys prepared the Pizzas with professionalism. today is over! I will not buy again!

I think if you close at 9:00 your kitchen should close at 9:00NOT8:30, makes no sense. Called at 8:30(when they close at 9:00) and the girl on the phone said«Hello our kitchen is closed»… Must not need anymore business.

For years, my husband has told me that Salerno’s has amazing pizza. A few nights ago, we finally were able to go since we were on vacation in CT. He is right. The pizza was fantastic and perfectly cooked. The restaurant is clean and inviting with the old memorabilia and Italian music softly playing. My twelve year old son had a blast. Thank you, Salerno’s…, we’ll be back!

For the love of pizza, what is going on in this state? I know it’s not Brooklyn but come on. I loved this old place walking in and the smell so good of sauce. Then I saw the mashed potato pizza hand written sign. That should have been a tip off. Is this a new CT thing? Anyway, the pie was pretty huge but it was a huge disappointment. One slice was like death by cheese. I have never seen so much cheese on a pie in my life. We were wondering why the box was so incredibly heavy carrying it to the car. Ate a slice in the car and the crust broke in half and slices all fell apart due to the heaviness of the cheese and oil. The sauce was pretty tasteless. The cheese completely tasteless and much too much oil. The crust also had no flavor and was too hard. I took off most of the cheese from the pie and it was seriously enough mozz. to top a whole other pie. Maybe the high reviews are for the plum pesto pie in the summer. I’ll give it 2 stars since 2 slices were at least edible and have had a lot of even worse pizzas lately.

Another overrated CT Pizza joint. The pizza is average at best, the sauce is not sweet as it should be in my opinion. My wife wanted the Buffalo BBQ Pizza. She said it was good, but, that’s not Pizza. It’s a gimmick, like their Mashed Potatoes Pizza. Uhhh, OK! The calzone is a monster and was prepared well but the sauce provided had a burnt taste. Oh well. Who am I to argue with others childhood memories.

Good pizza. Friendly service. Salad is fresh and a nice compliment to pizza. Tasty bread sticks. Wish they had more italian desserts

Went here as a child with my family and went a few times as an adult. Great pizza. Can’t vouch for anything else because I’m a pizza person but they have great pies. I wouldn’t call this the best eat-in pizza restaurant I’ve ever been to but it is ok

Love love love Salerno’s. Best pizza in CT. Italian favorites are amazing too. Creamiest ricotta you’ve ever tasted. And the bread is amazing! A family favorite for many years. And the staff is super friendly too.

Definitely my new favorite local pizza spot! You get your toppings worth and it was so delicious. I’ll definitely be back again! The garlic bread parmigiana was so flavorful as well.

My husband & I love Salerno’s food. Their pizza is awesome. Can’t wait for their Plum Tomato Pie in August. It is the best. I would recommend Salerno’s to anyone who has never tried their food

I called Salerno’s today to send my sister a special birthday lunch. Since I grew up in Stratford as a child, Salerno’s was our go to pizza place. I now live in Florida but wanted my sister to have incredible tasting apizza. Not only did they go above and beyond with accommodating, they made her an extra special heart shaped pizza stating«to make it even more special for her». Just incredible Salerno’s. Thank you so much!!!

I was a customer when I was younger and my parents would take us there, I remember the pizza being much better. I do realize kids truely love pizza, so I think the food was still very tasty and the service was fine.

This is such a cool and classic place with the tin ceiling and the old school booths. I’ve only had their pizza, and that’s just because it’s so good that it’s all I think about when I come here. Being a Jersey boy from the 6th borough, I’m used to having great pizza at my doorstep; however, I find myself craving Salerno’s often, which encourages me to make the 2 hour trip to get some Apizza. They make their own pasta, which makes me want to give it a try. Saying this, it will be a bit of an inner struggle not ordering the pizza. Wish they had gluten free pasta, because my wife and daughter are GF. Until then, I’ll keep Salerno’s as my guilty pleasure, and I suggest you do the same.

The mashed potato pizza is fantastic! I always get this when it’s available, and this was one of the best I’ve had. The clams casino pizza is also delicious! What a cute and cozy place, with amazing traditional Italian food, and a casual retro vibe. Definitely check it out!

There is actually a countdown to their plum tomato pie, and there is a reason for that. It’s obviously not like your typical cheese pizza so comparisons would be silly. But on it’s own it is a thing of beauty and worth the wait. It even looks like a little work of art with the swirls of delicious pesto atop the layers of summer’s juiciest plum tomatoes. It’s definitely something that should be featured on a food show about amazing local food, if it hasn’t already. I’ve also had really delicious calzone’s here. Lucky to have this place in the hood.

This has been a place that I have been coming to since I was a child and I still love it. When we are not dining in, we will get a pizza to go which are always cooked really well. I would prefer to eat in because their fettucini alfredo is great. I find that it is always well seasoned, and the pasta is cooked correctly. All of their servers are always so friendly and attentive to the table. One of my absolute favorite things is their pasta that you can buy and take home to cook yourself — how can you go wrong with garlic ravioli?

Came here for the fresh tomato pie, as that appears to be a favorite showcase. We found it average, along with the other pizzas we tried. Service was friendly, despite being very busy. The place definitely has some history, but was pretty underwhelming overall. It’s not a bad place to stop in the area and for most will be totally decent pizza, but it comes nowhere near the best pizza in the region.

They have the most awesome pizza! Actually everything they have is terrific. The staff… eh not so much. They’re kind of dry and no nonsense, but the pizza is kind a worth it??? Lol! The plum pizza is to die for!
