Ubertis Fish & Chips

Great fish and chips. The soups are great. They now offer a broiled option. Always a good lunch or dinner stop.

I feel as if I’ve been ripped off. What a waste of money. My friend and I stopped in for a quick bite on our way home. I had the soft shell crab sandwich (9.99) and onion rings (4.25) and she had a scallop sandwich (7.00). We each had a medium soda (1.95).
The batter on our fish was so saturated with grease and tasted awful. Instead of being a nice golden color our food, including the onion rings, was dark brown and tasted like the frier oil hadn’t been changed in months. Her scallop sandwich contained four measly scallops. Bay scallops at that. The tiny ones and appears to be double battered and greasy as all heck. The medium soda we orders and paid 1.95 for would have been a small or even child size anywhere else. In addition they were just about filled to the top with crushed ice. I actually had to go for another soda at 1.95 to help me choke down the meal. We both tried to eat because we were starving but couldn’t continue eating.
I am nit one to complain but actually joined Unilocal to write this review. That’s how disappointed I was. Cost was over $ 27 (Inc tax) as u wrote this review I was nauseous at the thought of the food. The only thing good was the bread and that’s probably because they didn’t make it.

Unfortunately we stopped here and I had the worst lobster roll ever. Lobster meat was so shredded and had so much butter on it that the bottom of the roll fell out when I picked it up. It was not fresh at all. Tasted like it had been sitting in a pot all day with butter in it. Basically wasted $ 12.99. My husband had the fish sandwich and soup. He was not impressed with the RI clam. chowder and said the sandwich was okay.
