Choosing your wedding dress is one of the biggest, most exciting, and potentially most stressful decisions of a girl’s life. It was with this notion that I chose to set out with my mom a full 18 months before my wedding date«just to look,» to put my feelers out for what I may like or dislike. We arrived at Tamera’s just as they opened on a rainy, dismall Thursday morning. What seemed a bleak, crawl-back-in-bed-and-hide sort of day soon became one of the most exciting in recent memory. We were greeted by Tamera’s father and soon by Tamera herself. After a short discussion of what I thought I wanted, our wedding details(location, colors, date, etc), and a bit of background on me and my future husband, Tamera led us around the show room, giving extensive information on each dress I touched. We pulled 8 dresses from the extensive designer collection for me to try on, a few in the style I had come in convinced of and several others«for variety’s sake.» With that, the fashion show frenzy began. Tamera was extremely friendly, patient, and helpful throughout the process. I quickly learned that what may look great on a website or mannequin is not necessarily what one is destined to wear on the most meaningful day of her life. Narrowed down to two drastically different styles, Tamera helped to select jewelry, shoes, hair-pieces, and veils to complete each look. Suddenly, I was transformed into the bride I have dreamt of being since I was 4-years-old playing dressup in my mother’s closet. As she placed my Swarovski crystal headband and 8 foot veil on my head, the entire shop new it was the one. Having walked in «just-to-look,» I left with a receipt for my dream dress that is being custom beaded as we speak. A quaint shop where everyone feels like family and excitement cycles through the air conditioning system, a trip to Tamera’s Forever Bridal is a must for any bride with access to the South Florida area. From a wide array of designer dresses(at a wide array of price points) to a bridal consultant that feels more like a bridesmaid than a salesperson, I will cherish my experience at Tamera’s for years to come.
