Genevieve Burch

Genevieve has been my stylist for over a decade (color, highlights, low lights, and cuts). I trust her completely! She is extremely detailed, takes her time, and takes a lot of pride in her work. I look forward to every visit because I get so many compliments on my hair every time. I just sit in the chair, relax and enjoy the great conversation. She’s such a sweet and caring person, and then when she’s done I get to leave feeling like a new person.
For two years, when I was living in Washington, DC for work, I would fly back to get my hair done because I didn’t trust anyone else as much. She’s awesome!!!

Genevieve is my favorite hair stylist in LA! I’ve lived in different areas of LA for most of my life, and I’ve tried out many salons. I moved to Sherman Oaks 2 years ago, and by luck, I found Genevieve at Onyx Salon. I am floored by her talent! She is not only a genuinely warm and fun person to chat with, but she never disappoints me in her hair expertise and technique. Genevieve is one of the best kept secrets in LA. Both as a color artist and stylist she is very talented. I have never had so many compliments on my hair. I highly recommend her!

Genevieve did the Keratin treatment on my hair over the weekend, and I LOVE it!!! It cuts my time getting ready in the morning literally in half. I’m so thankful she talked me into it. Until I had the great fortune of finding Genevieve Burch, I used to go to high-​end salons in Beverly Hill where I had to see one person for great color, another for a good cut, and yet another for the Brazilian Blowout. And NONE of them did great blowouts. Then I saw the terrific results coming out of Genevieve’s chair at a local Studio City salon where I get my facial services done. Now, I not only save money, but I have a mutli-​talented stylist who does it all… and does it all extremely well! Color correction (I was sorely missing lowlights), great cuts, great Brazilians, and fabulous blowouts! I cannot say enough on her behalf. She makes a chore into a pleasure, knows you are there to relax (and not be her therapist!!) and is just all-​around delightful. In short: she rocks and can do it all!

I happened upon Genevieve quite accidentally this afternoon while in search of a cut and color. It had been far too long for either and I was in extreme need (seriously, small children were crossing the street in fear) to keep the grey at bay and put the the ponytail holder dowwwnnnn.
Once we had a convo about what I wanted to look like versus what I looked like (she was gentle and kind — was she blind?), she set about making a fairytale princess out of an old sea hag. Beautiful, rich, deep color — check. Exectly what I asked for in a chic, but easy-​to-​style cut — check. Referred her to my friends and even my own mother– check.
When, if ever, has a random walk-​in yielded results like this outside of a chick flick? Genevieve is darling and, get this, actually hears what you want, then gives it to you. The salon, incidentally next-​door to the raucous Floyd’s (duuuuude) is the complete antithesis. Relaxing, charming and pampering. Prices won’t make even the most miserly of husbands (mine — check) flip his lid.
What could be better? Have I died and gone to hair styling heaven? Genevieve is a talanted angel with scissors and a genuine smile.

Genevieve is terrific and is DEVA curl certified. DEVA certified is a technique for cutting curly hair.
I needed a DEVA cut and called Alonsay. I saw the sign in the window saying DEVA CERTIFIED and that was it. She saw me that Saturday and did a wonderful job. The salon is clean and fresh and centrally located in Studio City. Street parking is best.
The rates are very reasonable and the vibe is professional yet hip and relaxed.

Outstanding stylist! Perfect color and cut! My hair is very difficult to color. I have spent years looking for color experts to fix all the times my hair has come out too ash, too red, too messed up. Genevieve not only did beautiful, DNA quality color, but cut my thin hair so it looked full and healthy. I have been to top salons in LA and SF over many years and Genevieve is absolutely tops! I guarantee you’ll be thrilled with her work and will be writing raves too!

Genevieve is a flat-​out hair genius. I can’t recommend her highly enough.

Genevieve has been my stylist for 19 years. She has always been so good to me. I’ve been through every style and cut throughout the 19 years-​from a short bob, a layered look and even a perm! Genevieve is awesome! Ive had the same hairdresser for 10 years and the one before that, 5 years. So, needless to say, im not a risk taker. I called her from the ad on Unilocal,and she returned my call in no time. Shes friendly, easy to talk to and super fun! Besides all that, I told her what I wanted, color and cut, and BAM, there it was. Im gonna be her regular now… cant say enough. Loved her!

I have been a longtime client of Alonsay Salon. When Genevieve started there I decided to see what she could do with my hair. I left it in her hands. The result, I love it and everyone tells me I look 10 years younger.

Genevieve has been my cousin’s stylist forever. I came to her a few years ago for cut and color, and she never disappoints. I bought a Groupon to another salon recently, and it was the worst money I’ve ever spent. I went back to Genevieve yesterday to have her give me a REAL haircut and I’m so pleased with the result.
Lesson learned: I will never cheat on my stylist again. Gen is the best!
