Yum! This place has really good food! The fried chicken is amazing!!! Pretty much everything we have tried has been really good. The only downfall for me is that some of the stuff I feel is a bit over priced. For example the fresh peanut butter is good but way over priced.

I mean honestly this is the cutest lil farmers market. I just love a good farmers market. They have those delicacies that can only be found at a country farmers market. I really love their prepared foods: pulled pork, bbq ribs, prime rib, meat loaf anddddddddddd CHICKENSALAD. Hands down, their chicken salad is some of the best chicken salad that I have EVER had to touch my lips. And the prime rib is melt in your mouth beefy goodness. If you are in the area, definitely stop in and check it out.

I have enjoyed their large take-out Greek Salad and purchased several for«friend’s lunch.» We had a ball trying to eat the whole thing in one setting. None of us were able to finish the salad in one setting. It is huge and filled with fresh tasty ingredients. The dressing has a little zip to it and compliments the salad perfectly. Amazing and tasty! The cashiers and workers are so friendly and kind to everyone one in the store. Every customer leaves feeling special and appreciated. I recommend the desserts too. They are oversized slices of cake-joy! Fresh and flavorful. Enjoy the full menu. Everything is great. The Market Store is filled with cool stuff, heirloom, natural and organic choices are available. Great old fashioned candy too. You will enjoy the experience.

One of my favorite gems in Suffolk! I have the tendency to gravitate towards local businesses that keep it organic and homemade, so this place fulfills the desire to not only support farmers and the community in general, but to keep consuming delicious goodies made and/or grown with love!

I absolutely love the fried chicken, fried catfish and hush puppies. All of the sides are really good too. Everyone that works there is very friendly. I used to live down the street. I moved 5 years ago, but every time I come back I make sure I hit this spot!

the reason I did not give 5 stars is the not-so-welcoming atmosphere. Although it is a fish market, the smell is unappetizing and the setup is not what you would consider«nice». Everything looks old and worn, which I’m sure it is but it seems that it may be time for a remodel or an interior decorator. The four stars come from the wonderful dressings, jams, and sauces that they sell along with the fresh seafood, smoked meats, and ready-made side dishes which are all GREAT! corn pudding, deviled eggs, fried chicken, and many other southern dishes are always freshly made and delicious, which is perfect when I don’t feel like cooking. Homemade fudge is also great and the cashiers are always so nice.

Love the non gourmet chicken salad, fried fish & cabbage. The pulled pork can be very hot(spicy) but sometimes just right sweet and spicy. Unfortunately, it is like playing Russian roulette so be prepared. The staff is not as friendly as when I started frequenting the store years ago, but sometimes the food is just plain worth the trip. They have dinner specials that are reasonable and taste good.

This is a cute market with a bunch of random things. We’ve gotten like a pound of raw oysters before, which is pretty rare to find. And while I do like supporting the local farmers and merchants, the prices for their produce and meats can be beaten at the local grocery stores, so in this case, it just isn’t cost advantageous to shop here. They’re wine is pretty overpriced too; but I know some people would rather pay more knowing they’re supporting local. To each their own.

Today was my first time at Bennett’s Creek Farm Market in 27 years. My grandmother used to shop here for groceries faithfully. I drive past it once a week but nostalgia got the best of me today. It’s larger than I recall, but I was four years old, so how much of a memory had I developed? The lighting is still kinda low. Everyone is super friendly. They still have ice cream, parlor-style. Classic candies. Slices of homemade layer cake: Red Velvet, Lemon, and Carrot… ridiculously priced at five dollars a slice. And lots of homemade goodness: Fried chicken, crab cakes, a bunch of different fudges, banana pudding, pulled pork, chicken salad, pasta salad… Homemade jars of sauces and preserves. A variety of produce; some that you have to pick to make a bundle or pound, i.e. grapes.(I particularly came for the muscadines, which were $ 5.00 a pound. But that’s about how much they are at Harris Teeter… when you’re lucky enough to stumble upon them.) They also sell homemade jewelry. And wine. Lots of it. I was so overwhelmed. With all the novelty, it’s almost like Taste Unlimited, but without the ostentatiousness.

I love this place. Co workers always rave about the BBQ ribs, but I’m more a fan of the locally grown fruits and veggies. I got strawberries here once and they were literally the best strawberries I have ever tasted. I can’t wait for summer time to roll around again so I can get my hands on some. We did try out the ribs and yes, they were fall of the bone, finger lickin good. We also grabbed some potato salad and a few other kitchen essentials like tortilla chips and pepperoncinis.(Yes, those are essential in my kitchen). I love this place. I need to make it a point to get my produce here.

All the fresh tastes of summer! Corn, tomatoes, snaps, peaches, shelled lima beans, small red potatoes, that was what was in my bag today along with some smoked bacon ends to cook them with! Always fresh. Always tasty! The fresh cut meat is excellent. Hot, to-go food counter, deli, home cooked BBQ(excellent), cooked greens by the quart, soft shell crabs… just about anything your gran’mama put on the table is at Bennett’s Creek Farm Market. It’s a small market that smells like the ones from days gone by with all the old favorites and new things too. Peanuts, brittle, homemade preserves, fudge and hand scooped ice cream. If you live in North Suffolk and haven’t been there it’s a crying shame.

I usually come for their oh-so tasty baby back ribs. they are so yummy! Try the fresh chicken salad and tuna salad, you won’t regret it. They have desserts like chocolate or red velvet cake slices that are usually moist and not stale like some places. They also sell Jimmy crabs if they are in season. Just ask one of the associates for help. So visit this place when you’re around north Suffolk.

Great BBQ sandwich. Just awesome. Check the specials board too. Veggie sandwich was horrible though. Got that once and it was basically a fresh cucumber, chopped up and served on a roll. I usually get BBQ because I don’t get to come here as often since I changed jobs and now when I come, I have to maximize enjoyment. It’s a vinegar, Carolina style flavor pork. Order«Regular» BBQ, say yes to «Slaw?» and say«Mild» or «Hot» when asked if you want sauce on it(The sauce is a small amount of Pittman’s BBQ sauce). This place has lots of other good food. Like home-cookin’ hot food. Cole Slaw is awesome. If you hate cole slaw, try this, you won’t hate it. Hate potato salad like me? This potato salad needs a new name, cause it can’t be the same stuff I’ve had elsewhere. It’s so good. They have a counter to order from, but they also have a fridge section with packaged BBQ, Slaw and Potato salad. Pick up a bag of potato rolls and take it home for the family dinner. They will love you again!

I have been going to Bennett’s Creek Farm Market ever since I was a little kid(it’s the building on 17 with the cow on top). They’ve even named the cow that sits on top on the building, Betsy, read the website for more cool little tidbits about the Market. But seriously, this is a perfect little country grocery store, with fresh produce, some of the best meat in the area, and a great selection of delicious fruit. The staff here are always friendly and will help you out with any selection you may need. I consider this a great gem in the Hampton Roads area that everyone should visit at least once.
