Tropical Smoothie

Never fails. while I’m out my youngest daughter will call me and ask to grab TS. this location seems much slower than others. I think the location is in isolation even though it’s next to the movie theatre.

Fast, inexpensive, efficient, and clean!

I like the food but it was $ 40 for 4 of us. Not a cheap lunch for the family.
This is a small place. Does have some tables, but seems like a lot just get it to go. We came at lunch time and did have to wait in line to order. I think the menu at another location nearby is different than this one. I need to go by and look. No paper menu with more descriptions were available either. Which might explain the line. I had to ask about several things before I could place an order. A paper menu with descriptions of what is on the sandwich would have cut down my own ordering time.
The gal was good about answering my questions. But I did end up just having to order one sandwich b/​c I felt like asking all these questions was holding up the line… now to the door. We waited no more than 10 min for our smoothie/​sandwiches. They put the name from the credit card you use to call out your order. They did put napkins in the bag and a drink holder for the smoothies. I didn’t have to ask for these, nice.
We got 4 combo meals. Sandwich, smoothie and chips. It was over $ 40 for 4 people. I was wanting to grab a quick lunch but didn’t want to pay that much. And honestly, for that price I could have done a sit down cheap place for lunch.
The food was good. The one sandwich I ordered without asking wasn’t as good as the others. Figures since it was for my husband lol. Will I return? Probably, but not often. I can make a good sandwich cheaper at home and make the smoothie I like as well. For cheaper.

Ok so far I have only tried the King Caesar Wrap and muscle builder (which I absolutely looooooved) but my problem came in when I was placing my order over the phone the person that was speaking with was starting to sound very impatient (being that I was asking all types of questions, I guess she got a tad bit aggravated) then after you rush me off the phone… You forget my chips, REALLY!!!

I didn’t even know this location existed!!! But I am glad I found it! I tried the cranberry truffle smoothie… super fantastic to me! The order taker was upbeat and helpful when it came to choosing a new smoothie. Some others walked in (must of been regulars) and were greeted immediately with smiles and jokes. The atmosphere was warm here and I loved it. I had a coupon for a .99 24oz smoothie! I will definitely stop by again and again

Good food. Had a wasabe roast beef sandwich and a health nut smoothie. Oranges or banana came with it.

I enjoy fresh food and good quality service. This specific Tropical Smoothie is poorly managed and enjoys gouging the community. Bananas are purchased from local stores that would normally be discarded due to freshness at a steeply discounted price and passed on to the consumer as fresh. Portions are now being cut and discounts are being eliminated in order to make a buck. The Corporate office has made numerous trips to this Tropical smoothie to talk to management over continued poor service to the community. I will take my business to the Carrollton Tropical Smoothie from now on. It won’t be long before this business in Suffolk is a thing of the past…

The place was clean. A little TOO clean. I went in during peak lunch hours to pick up a phone order I placed for a Paradise Combo (or whatever it’s called), which included a smoothie Bahama Mama, a wrap (Chicken Caesar), and a bag of chips.
I asked if I could replace the typical 24 oz. cup with a smaller one, since 24 ounces of fruity sugaryness would be a little rough on my waistline. I was told that the only size cup they had was the 24 oz, and that, if I wanted, they could split half of a regular smoothie into two 24 oz. cups… which made zero sense to me… In the end, I just took the 24 oz. cup, and only drank ¼ of it.
Also the wrap was extremely underwhelming. It had lettuce, tomato, chicken, and the Caesar dressing, and when I got back to the office to unwrap it, the whole thing was warm. Lettuce included. I thought it was going to be a cold wrap, wasn’t expecting it to be tossed into the microwave. Also, some of the lettuce was brown and wilty.
All of that would have been fine… if the combo plus tax didn’t come to almost TWELVE dollars! It would have been nice if I’d gotten a subtotal of the order before coming in; don’t most places give you a subtotal before you come in and pick up?
I won’t be returning. I can heat up my own Caesar wraps at home for free.

Many moons ago when I was in college I worked at the Harbor View Movie Theater, that’s when I discovered Tropical Smoothie Café, and I’ve been going back ever since. I was just telling my roommate the other day that I can’t tear myself away from the Jetty Punch smoothie (strawberry and banana). I’ve tried a few of their other smoothies, even some of the dessert ones, but I always come back to the Jetty Punch. It’s the perfect treat for a hot summer days. Also they have a bunch of wraps to pick from but the best one by far is the King Caesar wrap, which has huge chunks of chicken and a really good, creamy Caesar dressing sauce. I’ve tried the buffalo chicken wrap as well, but it’s just not as good as the King Caesar. Since I’ve first started going they have greatly expanded their menu to include breakfast, sandwiches, desserts, salads, and soups.
