Warning to vegetarians and people with food allergies — the vegetarian items on the menu are not vegetarian. The Japanese soup base powder they use in their vegetarian dishes(tofu pot and ramen) contains bonito(fish). It did take some going back and forth with the guy there, who was nice, but didn’t really understand what was in the food. After I kept insisting that the soup smelled«off» and like meat, he brought out the soup powder package they use and sure enough, in the ingredients is bonito. I haven’t had meat in so long that I could tell the smell is off, but I wonder how many people have eaten the«vegetarian» dishes without knowing any better.

This place looks neat/trendy but the prices seem to be decent. I actually didn’t eat or drink anything as I was just meeting up with a friend who had just eaten. She likes the place if that’s worth anything. The place seems good for hanging out and reminds me a lot of Teahouse off N. Shepard.

In the beginning, I had a slight disinterest in this place for the main reason of price. However, as I grew older and became more inclined to late night study sessions Tea Bar has become more appealing. With them being one of the only late night tapioca/tea places open in the area it makes a great place to study. The drinks are honestly really good but i’m not sure if it’s worth $ 5+ unless you plan on staying there for more than a few hours. The workers there are a sort of a wild card, some nights you’ll have people who won’t even acknowledge you after you get a drink and other nights the people are nice and attentive. The cons of this location is that there are times where the employees would blast(Korean?) music at such a loud volume it is distracting from my studies. All in all, I don’t mind paying the money for a drink when I know I will be there for 4 – 5 hours.

Despite some low reviews, I still really wanted to try this place. Walked in, and I liked the décor and ambiance, and the staff was friendly, though not that many patrons inside. Some tea pots are the same price as 2 hot drinks, so we got a mixed fruit tea pot. Fruit tea is unusually sweet. When I asked, in actuality«fruit tea» means different concentrated flavors and sweetening syrups with a very small amount of actual tea and fruit. Disappointed because I came here specifically for something more natural than the average tea place, and all I got was a pot full of corn syrup. I’d still give it another try though, because there aren’t many tea places offering organic and it seems like a good study spot. Just make sure that you specify you’re not interested in any flavors or sweetener mixed in your tea.

Let’s just say every single time I’ve ever come here I have left feeling regret. Only come here cause it’s open till 1 am and the other places close much earlier. Service is horrible most of the employees are rude. Drinks are subpar… The fruit teas taste like melted jolly rancher, they never have half their drinks, and their shaved ice drinks are literally 90% Ice 5% syrup 5% jelly. Overall I would recommend anyone to NOT go here. I always walk out telling my friends why do we ever come here??? Never have i walked away satisfied.

The only reason why I come here often is because they serve takoyaki in sugar land, and that they open late at night and have wifi for a good study session. They play music and have a generally quite atmosphere with good lighting, perfect for studying. Their food is meh and their drinks are not my favorite, but I would recommend the hot tea pots even though they are over priced. Their condensed milk waffle or rather condensed donuts are a small portion compared to the priced they’re sold as(and they don’t come with enough condensed milk).

I wanted the High Mountain oogling tea Togo. It taste bitter and was not fresh. If paying by debit or credit card $ 10 min charge. Clean atmosphere and enjoyable music. Guest service not very friendly at this establishment. Recommend going elsewhere if you want great quality tea.

The service here is HORRENDOUS. Not sure who the man was, but in the 3 hours that my cousins and I were here, we heard many swear words and complaints from this man. This included insults to his coworkers and calling our order request stupid. While he completed our order, he proceeded in a loud, rude manner, all while slamming the ice chest and throwing things in the sink. This is very unprofessional. The only reason why we keep returning here is because they’re the only place that stays open late. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

This 5 star is for the nice gentleman that works there that greeted me and my friend and made sure we were taken care of and even came by to check up on us. We only ordered takoyaki and two drinks: the frozen cream green tea. Everything was delicious and the place was nice to hang out(and study it seems like).

Tea bar has a staff that is very knowledgeable about what they offer. Case in point, I needed something passion fruity, decaffeinated, less sweet. The cashier told me that the only they do that will be decaffeinated would be a smoothie. When I expressed some indecision, she thought for a moment and offered, if you want, we can do a jelly ice. I asked her if we can do if half sweet, and she said yes. It looked like everything worked out… Until I got home. The jelly ice was NOT half sweet. It looks like someone forgot to communicate, and things got lost in translation. Another complaint was that they should make this jelly ice more slushy, less icy. The jelly ice should be more integrated. I typically get my favorite royal milk tea, which is really potent and strong as it uses earl grey tea. This has been consistently good. Take advantage of the BOGO from Monday — Thursday, where you can get one large drink free with the purchase of a large drink.

It was my first time here. I order the short ribs with rice. And it took a lot longer then they told me. And my meat was uncooked.

First off, I will say I’ve been coming here for months and this is what I have observed over time. The teas and food are good, but if a particular item is no longer available, it should be crossed out. They already have crossed out items with a marker, but I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to order something and they say, «Sorry, we don’t have that at this location.» So I choose something else and they tell me that they don’t have that item either. On top of that, they have four different cup sizes – two glass ones and two paper ones. The paper ones are for to go orders. Unless you specify you want the glass cups, they’ll give you the paper cups(which hold a lot less than the glass) and you’ll get charged the same amount for less tea. But this isn’t the worst thing about this place. It’s normally quiet throughout the day, but the environment gets progressively worse at night time… and it’s not due to the customers. When one of the male employees comes in(he seems like the owner’s son or something), he just jams the music really loud and brings his whole gang of friends making it feel like a house party. They talk REALLYLOUD and play obnoxious music not fit for studying or a relaxed environment. On top of that, the waiters ignore the customers in order to hang out with their little gang of friends and you have to walk to the register in order for them to pay any attention to you. You can hear them talking through your headphones when they sit inside. They also sit outside and smoke and just chatter along until you stand at the register then they’ll come in assuming you want the check, making you feel like you should leave so they don’t have to service you any longer. This particular situation has happened almost every single time that guy is there when I’m here. I will continue to go here mostly because the teas are good and when the environment is right, I’ll get a lot of work done. I leave the moment that one guy and his gang comes in. With the music he plays and his friends being loud, all they need is a alcohol license and they can turn this place into club for their own personal party spot.

I’ve been visiting this spot since they’ve opened yet I have become dissatisfied for good. They are conveniently located in Sugar Land and most places are not open that late, which is why I’d visit every now and then. Their drinks are really watery and are distasteful as well. They don’t seem to know how to properly brew milk tea’s in specific. The herbal tea’s are fine because they are only steeped in water. Other than that the drinks are lacking consistency. Not to mention the steep prices. I like the Bellaire location better and may frequent that location from now on. Otherwise their are other cafes that make better milk tea’s.

Absolutely disappointed. I ordered a black tea. I ordered it unsweetened, however,…they don’t make their teas unsweet. Even after much discussion my drink still came with sugar. I just don’t understand. How can an establishment that contains the words TEA and ORGANICS… Not offer a plain simple black tea without sweetener! Could it be that the employees and I weren’t in the same page? I don’t know… Could it be that the establishment really doesn’t offer regular black tea? I don’t know… What I do know… and let me tell you this… I didn’t get what I ordered and I am not going back.

Get the«signature» drinK! Every time the boyfriend and/or I stop by this place or the Bellaire store, the«signature» is our no brainer must-get! We love the egg pudding! The salt and pepper fried chicken nuggets is another must-get when wanting something to munch on. I’ve tried the strawberry pancakes and loved it and would love to try the Taro pancakes next time heeeeh :) Service at this Sugar Land store is much much much better than at the Bellaire store most likely because here is less busy.

Tea Bar in Sugarland is on point. I thought the first visit was awesome — but damn, they’re going above & beyond this time! Friendly staff,(Both were male. Sorry fellas, this isn’t twin peaks) GREAT music, and the restrooms are clean! Bonus points — they iced my drink AND gave me extra. You can say this place is tea-rrific!

Location is a bit obscure. It is off Highway 6 but its off to the side of a plaza so may be a bit difficult to spot at first. There is ample amounts of parking outside the store. Parking should never be an issue. The interior has a clean and relax feel. Pretty well lit with music playing in the background. Generally it is possible to find seats in the location. Most of the tables along the walls have plugs so it shouldn’t be an issue to find somewhere with an outlet. Out door seating is available but in the evenings there is always people smoking cigarettes outside. The service is generally pretty good. They have an annoying rule that credit cards can be split only twice per table which can be a hassle when coming with a group of friends. The food is alright. Nothing here is extraordinary or anything like that. The drinks are a bit pricy for the amount that you get and if you get tapioca, they never give quite enough. General verdict on food is subpar and pricey. The one main thing that this place has going for it is that it is open later than the usual establishments around town that doesn’t focus on alcohol. It is a nice place to study, but the general thing going for it is the time frame in which it is open. If there was another place in SL that would be open this late, I would rather go there to be honest. Bonus: If you do end up studying here, be sure to get their stamp card. If you’re gonna be blowing money here, might as well get a free drink at some point. There is also a $ 10 limit for credit cards. Have cash ready if you’re just getting a drink or something.

Like everybody else says: service here is awful. I’d only recommend eating here if you have time to kill. I’ve only been here less than a handful of times and I’ve never had a good experience with their service. The last time I was here, my friend and I sat there waiting for a good 10 minutes before just going up to the counter to order our food. The cashier’s excuse was that it got busy and she forgot. Um… Okay. So I haven’t worked in food service in the past 10 years, but I know well enough that that’s not an acceptable excuse. Anyways, so service aside, I think their drinks are only okay. They’re rather pricey for something that you have no idea if they actually made your order the way you wanted it. Their rose black tea was all right. Also, they have MILK teas, so be aware fellow lactose-intolerant people! I know it’s not a common thing for milk tea places, but more and more boba places have been making the switch over to non-dairy creamers. Or just load up on your lactose enzymes. Drinks and service aside, the food was surprisingly good! I got their salt and pepper fried chicken and vegetarian ramen. The chicken had really good flavor and level of fry-ness. The ramen was pretty delicious too! It wasn’t too salty or under-flavored at all. It was worth the longer wait time for it. The combination of the chicken and the veggie ramen was pretty good. Flavors and creamy made for a good paring. If it weren’t for poor service, this place would easily get 4 stars.

Overpriced and mediocre. I was excited when I saw Tea Bar open so close to home but was fairly disappointed after I got there. The first few months, the place was so packed that it was nearly impossible to get a seat during peak hours. It’s gotten much better now, but I’ll only come here if there’s nothing else open. Don’t even waste your time and money for the food here. The drinks, yes, they’re good. They’re not bad. They’re not amazing. Paying $ 5+ for an okay cup of tea with some boba is not worth it to me. The service here is slow and inconsistent. There are some servers/cashiers who are extremely sweet and accommodating, while the others are just rude and unapproachable. Only a handful are knowledgeable about their menu. I’ve asked several questions that couldn’t be answered, and the manager likes to hide away from the customers. For the first month I was coming here, no one even mentioned a rewards card/program until one guy(I wish I remembered his name) finally told me. What a waste. 2 stars. I added one star because the atmosphere is nice, and they’re open so late. When the place isn’t crowded, there are nice chairs and tables to sit at with multiple outlets to use.

I’ve been recommending this place to everyone since we tried their food and cream tea, such a nice place for a lazy afternoon or a late bite! We’ve been here a few times, tried their tomato noodle soup, pork ramen, several rice plates, and Takoyaki. In my opinion everything is gooooood! We did not have high expectation for the food, since this place looks like a boba bar for drinks and snacks. But food is surprisingly good. For drinks we like their boba cream tea, and my fav is cream green tea with boba. Their cream green tea has the clean fresh taste of green tea and is not overwhelmingly sweet. The portion seems a little bit small, or it’s just me lol. They have a $ 10 minimum for credit card payment, you can always add more sinkers if you’re $ 1 – 2 short…
