New Owners!!! Will be changing their name soon. Now the food; awesome. Had the California Burrito and crispy shredded beef tacos. I was dying for authentic Mexican and they did not disappoint. The hot sauce was amazing. The owners and family were very down to earth and friendly. Support your local mom and pop people! Can’t wait to come back!

This place is absolutely amazing ! Anytime me or my husband want authentic Mexican food this is where our stop is. We always have great service. The food is always freshly made and we don’t ever have to wait a long time to get it. You can never go wrong coming to Los ninos!

Service was fantastic! Very friendly, answered all our questions about what things were on the menu without judgement. Great prices for the amount of food they give you. I have a family of 5 so we had a pretty good size order. Service was quick and efficient. Food was freshly prepared as we waited. Restaurant was clean and tidy. When we got home to eat, the food was AMAZING!!! MY only complaint would be the flautas weren’t as crispy as I hoped. But over all the food was AWESOME!!! Even my 3 kids agreed! I highly recommend this place!!! Hidden Gem of Sun City!!!

Many compare this place to Santanas/​Castenedas and i see why. The food was good & tasted home made, but Santanas is better. The portion is smaller here and i noticed the chicken had no flavor by itself… no seasonings! Glad we tried it though. It was cheaper. Im happy paying more so i can split it into 2 meals :) beans were awesome!

After having many horrific experiences with customer service and noise at the nearby Provecho Grill, I decided it was long overdue to find a nearby Mexican restaurant for my elderly mother and I.
Happy to report that vegetarian-​friendly Los Ninos did not disappoint on my first visit yesterday. I had a three-​item combo (8.99) with vegetarian enchilada, tamale and crispy taco; crispy chips and salsa (1.50); guacamole (1.69); small Dr Pepper (1.69).
The red salsa was too spicy for me. I would say it is probably a medium or higher and I need mild. The verde sauce is an excellent substitute as it is not at all spicy and is what they used on my combo plate and is delicious.
They comped me a small pico de gallo to take home because the menu says it comes with the combo, however I was told that it was a «typo» and comes with a «small salad.» The pico de gallo was mild, so I know I can have that at future visits.
The menu is rather extensive for a ma-​and-​pa-​type establishment and they assured me there is no animal fat in the beans and no chicken flavoring in the rice (which is commonplace in Mexican-​style eateries).
I am thrilled to have finally discovered a reasonably priced place that is veggie friendly and has such an extensive menu for everyone, including vegetarians. Just hope my mom likes when I bring her there too.

Had to update because when I finally brought my mother to this place last week, we weren’t thrilled. Same issue with their air conditioning as last visit (which I didn’t mention then cuz I thought it was a fluke). It was hot and uncomfortable and the waitress didn’t turn it on until we told her we weren’t ordering until she did. Last time, the same waitress made some sorry excuse about «forgetting» when it was summertime and the place was miserable.
Also this time, they had SEVERAL servers (compared to the one server on my first visit), yet it took FOREVER for the food to arrive and it was late afternoon with not many customers, so not sure what was up with that.
The food is very good, the prices are good, tons of selection, but the climate control and service issues we experienced mean we will not be returning!

Nice staff, good food! Family owned. Best Mexican place nearby, for sure! Taco Tuesday has tacos for $ 1!

Bomb food and good customer service. Not as good an santanos around the corner but still really good food. Santanos has shitty customer service so I’d rather come here. 4 stars for satisfying my expectations.

Steak Ranchero like grandma Vargas used to make, soooo good!!! You won’t be disappointed.

Great authentic good! The recipes are top notch and the service is amazing as well.
YOU MUST order the Tamales. They are handmade with delicious shredded chicken breast and delicious spices. Mmm Good! You can freeze them too so don’t hesitate to order a dozen to go. Just call ahead to make sure they are available.
Their Carne Asada is also really tender, delicious and not chewy at all. Come here and leave happy and satisfied. The plates are pretty big so be ready for leftovers.
Also, their salas kick major booty! Very good! They have this one called Colorado Sauce which is scrumptious and not too spicy. Really, they make and have it all!
I’d definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants authentic Mexican food without family recipes.
This isn’t some taco chain or Taco Bell so of you don’t like flavor… You probably won’t appreciate this establishment. Maybe all the reviews are less than par because you want go get all the Tamales?! Lol stop being greedy!

When I come to visit my Mother in Sun City we always come here for lunch. This place is hidden in the Stater Bros strip center, next door to Mediacom. I don’t know if he is the manager or the owner but the gentleman that always takes our order and serves us is very sweet and gentle mannered. Perfect for service in a senior community.
I had the chicken tamale lunch which came with beans and rice. The tamale was very good with great ranchero sauce. Mom enjoyed the enchilada lunch and was quite pleased. The best part was to see two lunches, extra tortillas, chips, salsa and two drinks and a tab of just over $ 12.00! And the quiet gentleman refuses to accept a tip. He certainly deserves one!
Glad to give a good review for this restaurant. Hopefully it will entice more people to stop in and enjoy.

Wife told me about em, so we stopped and we got some tacos. I have eaten those folded and fried hard shell ones in Mexico and love those but the ones at Los Ninos were very very good. I have tried the tacos in other eateries surrounding the Menifee area and have found them very dry and tasteless. These tacos were really good and the beans were like mom used to make. Love those beans!!! I am getting some tonight after work! They do have taco tuesday folks!!! Woo hoo! In case you are thinking I am one of those senior citizens that like bland food, think again! I am Mexican, I scuba dive and combat swim almost ever day at the lap pool. I catch my own lobsters in season. So yes, I do know what good food is. My motto? If ya aint sweatin ya aint eatin. By the way, the service was good and the gentleman at the counter was very helpful and nice.

I have been here one time and I will not go back. i was pregnant and I was craving a quesadilla but where I used to live they would fry them so I asked them if they could do that if not it was ok I just really wanted the quesadilla. So the lady taking the order starts making fun of me that I don’t know what Mexican food was and that’s what they only had. If I wanted that fried quesadilla that I should go to a salvadorian restaurant. I told her it was fine I didn’t get that. So I ordered for my little sister in law that was hungry a chicken noddle soup. She asked if I wanted it with the chilli sauce (pico de gallo) I said no its for her it would be too spicy but thank you. And I also ordered two horchatas to go. And two tacos. So we leave and when my little sister in law starts eating the noddle soup it was spicy as heck. And there were hairs on our drink and hair on our tacos too. I noticed because I would like to eat the ice first. And my little sister in law bit the tacos first and a strand of hair is hanging from her mouth. My other sister in law went back and the lady said i had lied that it wasnt true and that i had opened the food and drinks there so it was my hair. Super bad customer service. Do not go !!! Who knows what she puts in your food or drink. Caution !!!

Decent food, good prices. Nice and clean. Soooo quiet!
Decided to stop in and check this place out with my son for lunch. The place is decorated nicely and is one of the cleaner restaurants I’ve been in for quite some time. The place is also about as quiet as a library — no Mexican (or any other) music playing, which I found odd.
I ordered the Los Ninos Nachos (I think that’s what they called them) which came out served in a cool high-​walled bowl. It wasn’t your typical pick-​apart-​with-​your-​fingers type of nachos. Once you ate the chips on top, you had to use a fork for the rest, as they were mostly softened by all the stuff in the bowl. This wasn’t a bad thing, it was just different enough that I felt it should be mentioned. I liked the nachos, but can’t say I was «wowed» by them.
My son ordered a 2-​item combo, choosing a cheese enchilada and a tostada. He said he liked both, but that was about all he could comment on them.
When we first walked in it was pretty warm inside (warmer than outside, even), but I felt the air conditioning kick on as I was looking at the menu. There was practically no noise other than the cook in back and the shuffling about of the man that took our order (you order at a counter before sitting down). The couple at the only other occupied table were quiet, so it just felt a little strange with almost no background noise going on.

But it wasn’t tonight. Rice was under cooked chips cold, asked for Spicy Steak Ranchero’s and it wasn’t.
I’ll just order the tacos next time, they seem to be coincident on them.

Sloooow. More condiments in our burritos than meat. Ton of «NO» signs and credit card fees with a ten dollar purchase. NO salsa bar and authentic Mexican it is NOT! Taste was very bland and the California burrito was awful, with soggy potatoes instead of crispy French fries.
