Absolutely great atmosphere and down home food to go with the country feeling.

The very best breakfasts ever, cooked to perfection. My Texas husband says the best chicken fried steak this side of Texas and the gravy so good he could drink a tall glass of it! Lunch is great too and they are open a few nights for dinner, we haven’t been for dinner but I can hardly wait and I’m still full from breakfast! Warm and friendly down home service too! Def our favorite

As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted with a welcoming environment. And a huge display of art, pictures and comedic signs on the walls. Our waitress Mel! She is just amazing, friendly and kind. Recommended really delicious choices on the menu! Best country fried steak I have had in a long time. Their gravy is just so chunky and oh so delicious. The french toast and chorizo My gosh just absolutely delicious! We will most def be making this our regular place! Never a dull moment so much stuff to look at! Thank you so much Mel you are just great!

Following other reviewers’ suggestions, I got chicken fried steak & eggs with coffee. I would post negative comments on food, coffee, or service if I had any, but food, coffee, and service were perfect. I guess I didn’t like the pop CW songs they were playing, so there you have a negative comment.

LOVE this place! The BEST chicken fried steak you will ever eat! I do not live in the area anymore so I can not go as often, but worth the hours drive I have to get there now.

Wonderful food and a very family run vibe comes through. Had the patty melt and zucchini sticks and co worker had french dip and zucchini sticks. GREAT food. Big glasses of great iced tea. I liked the vibe and the wall if photos and autographs. Fascinating!

I love it here. Been here several times — i love the old-fashioned, country, cowboy ambience, their friendly staff, fast service, good-portioned size servings. The only downside is that it’s cash only.

Food was just ok. Definitely could’ve made it myself. I didn’t get full from my breakfast and they gave me a dirty cup.

Well Burrous bites was wrong about this one. This place is average at best. The service is slow and depressing and the food is low quality. I’ll give it a 2 but it could be a 1. Won’t be going back

I have been coming here since high school. Great owners & really great food. It’s cash only but if you forget, conveniently there’s a cash machine in the back, so that’s good. I love the turkey dinner — I’m a sucker for comfort food. My mom & niece order the same thing every time: open faced roast beef sandwich. The gravy’s are homemade & it always feels like you just sat down at mom’s dining room table. It’s that kind of home cooked meals that keeps you coming back to great places like this.

Service seemed slow. Not much alertness shown by the staff, however, the ones that I interacted with were very nice. Seemed a bit pricey to pay $ 11 for eggs bacon and potatoes and also didn’t see how making this meal takes over 20 minutes. The atmosphere was pleasant but again the attitude of the staff was a bit dull. Probably won’t be going back for breakfast but I may give it another chance for lunch or dinner. But I encourage you to go and see for yourself. Nothing wrong with trying a new place to get some grub

I visited this restaurant for the first time to have breakfast and I’m glad I did. The food is amazing and the employees are really friendly. The interior of the restaurant is really old school and had old photos and furniture that make the place look awesome!!!

The food was mediocre. It took a long time to come out from the kitchen. The coffee was good and the staff was friendly. I had corned beef hash and eggs and Mike had the machaca. The refried beans that came with his breakfast looked dry and unappealing. Portions were a bit on the small side especially for the prices they charge. It is cash only.

Knickknacks, brick-a-brack, chachkis. On a quest for new breakfast venues, my forays are taking me further and further from home. This time I ventured out to Sunland and stumbled across this wonderful no –frills diner. The waitstaff are super friendly and the food is warm and filling. It was a nice scenic drive out here too! This is Shadow Hills, nobody knows where this is but it’s the trip worth it if you like country living breakfast, the interior itself wants you to come back let alone the delicious breakfast, very affordable and very friendly owners and staff

Fast, friendly service is what we received when I came in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It has a very warm, country charm and I was amused by all the fun signage, quotes and chachkies throughout the restaurant. Their popularity was evident from the regulars that came in as they were greeted with that kind of cheerful, sweet, southern hospitality you would see at a small quaint, bed and breakfast inn. From the time we were seated to leaving the restaurant, my coffee cup was kept filled(or at least frequently offered to be filled) and not just by our server, but a couple of the other servers walking around with a pot of coffee. I had the chicken fried steak and it was cooked just right. I usually ask for the gravy on the side because most times the gravy can be too runny, too goopey or overpowering and I like to control how much my steak is drowned in gravy. Their gravy was thick and creamy and just the right consistency that I probably could have had them top my steak off with it and been just fine. The hash browns were a tad bit on the dry side(maybe over cooked) but I was glad they were not greasy and mushy. The two pancakes that accompanied it were fluffy and buttery. Just how I like them. The coffee was perfect! Not too weak and not too strong and it even had a nice after taste I could not figure out and forgot to ask. Simple food, great service and reasonably priced– makes this girl one happy camper! PARKING: Has a small private lot it shares with two other retailers.
