Came here for a lunch, I have to say the place is beautiful! When we got there we had to wait a few minutes just for the staff to notice us and have us seated. Service was abit on the slow side. We asked for our food to be mild, it came out really spicy. It’s a nice place looks great the foods great too if you’re into spicy food. I will maybe come back and give this place another try!

After eating here for several years in the past, I can honestly say this place keeps getting worse. The customer service is absolutely terrible everytime I go. I used to go only for the food as it usually taste great. However, my recent experience makes me feel otherwise. I made a very large expensive order for pick up few days ago. As always the guy on the phone was extremely rude and impatient. Ok, I didn’t let that get to me as I just wanted good food for my huge family. I came home and every single person including my self found the food to be disgusting. There was absolutely no salt in anything and no spices either. I was extremely embarrassed. It was nothing but a waste of so much money and food. I gave them more than enough time to make the food as well. I will never return to this filthy rude place ever again.

I’m really upset I have to give this place 3 stars, however I have to say that my rating is solely based on the poor customer service this location has. Food: 5⁄5 The food here is out of this world. Starting from the lollipop chicken, which is my favorite appetizer, to every single item on the menu, nothing will disappoint. The best asian fusion food you will find in NYC. Ambience: 5⁄5 Absolutely beautiful! It is huge and spacious inside and the decorations are outstanding. Customer service: 1⁄5 The waiters are rude and obnoxious. I have a lot to say about their attitude however i will leave with just one complaint, they FORCE you to tip them a huge amount. I dined here for my birthday and our bill came out to 86 and some change. So i left 95 bucks on the table, however they demanded we give them a $ 20 tip. Mind you, they stopped by our table maybe twice to refill our water, what exactly should i tip them for? Nor is this restaurant located in the city. Due to this disappointment I will never step foot in the restaurant ever again.

The food was tasty and well cooked, never a bad experience with my visits here. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes Asian cuisine.

The overall sense of this restaurant is stingy. Our poor waitress was scared of her overbearing manager, who she needed to run everything by. The gratuity is included in the bill. The food was delicious, but the poor service and lack of warmth in their hospitality makes this a 2-star restaurant, unfortunately. It might be best to go with takeout!

Awesome food for a reasonable price. Ambience is so cool. A great place to host parties. we ordered vegetarian items. vegetable manchow soup, vegetable chowmein with tangra masala(what a unique combination of spices) and vegetable kofta with manchurian base in entrees. everyitem was so tasty and fingerlicking. highly recommended if you like chinese and indo– chinese.

The most horrible place to eat. The server got our check wrong and when we addressed it he was very rude about it as in it was our fault. Not only that, we had a party of 10 people they brought us 2 menus for all of us and didn’t get back to us until 40 min later to take our order. The food was horrible there. We order almost 5 – 6 things off the menu and it all didn’t taste good. And it took them almost 2 hours to get the main course ready and the management was horrible to. Horrible place to eat do not recommended it one bit. The Burger King 2 blocks away has better service than this shitty restaurant.

Not that bad for halal Thai. Think ‘Sagar Chinese’ in Jamaica style. Big restaurant with lots of room. Overall food isn’t bad for the price, but service is a on the slower side — only reason I’m going down a star. Recommend the Tangra Masala Fried Rice they offer. Would come again if I’m in the mood and around the area.

I would tread lightly with this place. They have food that is somewhat ok but nothing absolutely amazing and the service they give does not live up to the 18% tip they automatically tack on to your bill. We went for a late lunch and the service was decently fast, though there was only a couple other tables occupied. The ambiance really is the only saving grace of this place it does look very aesthetically pleasing on the inside. We ended up not being able to finish our food as the portions are actually generous. My main issue was when the check came by. We paid by card and when they brought it back for signature the original receipt was not included. We wanted to know how much tip they had already tacked on and would have given a little more if we felt it wasn’t a fair tip to the waiter who was somewhat decent at his job. After hunting down the waiter we eventually did get the original receipt and saw the waiter already had a healthy 18% put on for him. Don’t think I really have to tell you there was no further tip given. Shady business practices and mediocre food is what you will get here. I don’t really recommend it.

I come here all the time because my desi family just can’t get enough of this food. The lollipop chicken sauce is great. The chili beef with gravy is amazing with fried rice or even white rice. The shrimp thai soup or hot and sour soup is a must have :) Sometimes it can be a bit busy though, so don’t try to come on weekend nights.

This place is horrible! Do not come here! The amount of rules here are outrageous! There’s a $ 10 minimum for each person. The wait for the food is even longer. Food: We had Chicken Lollipops for appetizer. Then Chicken Tangra Masala Fried Rice, followed by Chicken Manchurian Noodles and Chicken Corn Soup and Vegetable Corn Soup. We did not like the food at all! If you want some good halal Chinese food, go to SAGARCHINESE on Hillside. Their food is so good, you won’t regret it. The only good thing about this place was the decorations. The setting was the only decent thing here. Service: Was horrible. They take forever to come to your table, refill on water and take your order. They do not exchange your food if you do not like it. They charge 18% gratuity as well. I do not recommend this place at all! I would not come back here again.

Came here first time last night with a friend. We had mango lassi, shrimp chow mein, general tsao chicken, and lollipop chicken. Everything was excellent. Just I expected bigger portion of general tsao chicken for the price. It was packed so we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. Overall good experience.

Came for Sunday dinner 815. There was a crowd waiting by the door, no hostess, no line, no organization. It literally was just whoever could walk up to an employee and demand a table. We got seated in the front where I was facing everyone who was still angrily waiting. Yikes. The restaurants atmosphere/design is super tacky. The service — not so great. Def get the chicken lollipop appetizer(literally every table had an order). They do have a few beers FYI. Also a TV(women’s soccer was playing). We ordered tangra shrimp noodles, beef tangra dry and goat tangra dry. All delish but a little too salty. I like to get my tangra fix maybe twice a year, for Indian Chinese it’s really good but it’s def not good for you and you’re always left with a feeling of what have I done to my insides…

I have been coming here since it first opened and everyone I’ve brought here has loved it. The lollipop chicken, masala fire, pepper chicken, and wontons today are a hit. The servers for the most part are good too. The general Taos and chili chicken are a must. The crispy ginger beef is delicious and fun to eat. And if with. Big crowd, fake a birthday and get the ice cream boat. It is so yummy and the whole birthday song and spinning candle shebang makes the night. The place is nice, the food is good, no complaints here :)

Tangra — a vast menu of Asian-Indian goodness placed on a random stretch of Queens Boulevard. The place is gigantic(good for parties), which makes it awkward when there’s only one other group there on a Saturday afternoon. After a little wait from the server(but why?), shared out the Lollypop Chicken($ 8.50), Fried Chicken Wings($ 5.95) and Mixed Fried Rice($ 9.95). The lollypop chicken was breaded nicely and good with the sauce, but I found their wings to be meatier and less dry as well. For the price, they give a heaping pile of the mixed meat fried rice, which had a generous amount of seafood and chicken(and with a nice kick). I would say the disappointing thing is the service. Considering there is basically no one there, they took their time waiting on us(plenty of servers). Then there is their laundry list of a customer protocol: minimum of $ 20 on the card, no more than 2 cards, everyone seated must spend at least $ 10 of food, extra for added sauce, gratuity added, etc. Really not sure how they stay in business which such a big place, meh service, and okay but cheap food. It works I suppose.

This is a very big restaurant when walking in with plenty of tables. They have a bar which is nice and a TV playing Bollywood videos. The service was pretty good although we had to wait longer than we should have for a waiter to take our order. And we also had to request for water. But the food made up for the«pretty good» service. Absolutely delicious! We ordered a goat dish, a chicken dish and vegetable noodles. And the milkshakes were amazing! Ambience was excellent as well.

You would think restaurants have the decency to exchange/refund an untouched meal for an unsatisfied customer. Tangra masala does not know what decency means, nor does it know how to maintain their customers by doing what makes them happy. Some friends & I went out for dinner last night to celebrate one of my friends birthday. Little did we know we were going to have the worst night of our lives. The service was horrible, the utensils were dirty, food was bland & overly priced. On top of all this, what I ordered was not delivered to my table! I received something totally different. I asked the waiter for an exchange(my meal was untouched.) The waiter told us that the restaurant policy states that no refunds/exchanges allowed on meals already prepared(which I thought was ridiculous. Why wouldn’t a restaurant want to keep their customers happy by replacing a small meal for them?) Anyway, I refused paying gratuity, explaining why. The waiter seemed to understand my frustration & accepted my decision. After paying for our meals(excluding gratuity), we left the restaurant. We were called back inside to be shamed. A female manager on site demanded payment. We demanded an exchange which did not take place. She called the NYPD. We were forced to pay for service we did not like, for food that was not worth it. My advice to Unilocalers would be to spend money on restaurants that respect their customers & make an effort to address their concerns.

I been working in the restaurant industry for 6+ years. One of my friends who live locally recommended me to try this place out: When I walked in, I was not greeted until 10 minutes later when the hostess was on her phone. Very unprofessional and it seemed like she didn’t even want to be there. She didn’t greet me or my other friends. After being seated, I notice their unique interior design(honestly the best thing out of this dining experience). Our waiter took about half an hour just to take our order or even greet us. I ordered their chicken lollipops and vegetable noodles. Chicken was still pink on the inside, it was RAW! Who hired these chefs? Under seasoned with no salt or pepper, I have had better chicken from frozen microwaveable dinners. Their vegetable noodles were a little chilled when it arrived to our table, I much have rather went to my local Chinese food restaurant. Usually it’s steaming and piping hot when it’s off the wok, sadly it was swimming in it’s own bath of grease because this is what happens when the food sits on the window and food runners aren’t on point. My friends thought the food was mediocre, cooked by trainees and amateurs who just started cooking a week ago. We all work in the industry; two of us work as full-time waiters at a fine dining restaurant in Soho and my other friend works as a sous chef in Hell’s Kitchen. Coming from the experts of the business. This is the place you do not want to spend your money at. The manager that we called over didn’t even give us a recommendation to his favorite, now I wonder why. We left our dishes nearly full when we left. TWODUMBSDOWN. I don’t even think they would give great hospitality even if Bobby Flay walked in the door and smacked them in the face.

One of the worst foodie experiences that I’ve ever had. I used to frequent this spot many, many years ago because of the fantastic sauces nd dishes so I couldn’t wait to show it off to my boyfriend(who was sort of new at the time). Finally we went to try it together this past summer Boy, was I embarrassed. First, we walked in a bit earlier for dinner and they couldn’t decide whether or not they were open for business, but when they decided they were we just got a wave of a hand. I guess that meant«sit anywhere». We sat down and waited about ten minutes, then my boyfriend got up to look around for someone to get us a menu… finally he told someone and we waited another ten minutes for a menu… and then about 30 seconds before being asked what we would like. I said first, I’d like a cool drink — water for both of us and my boyfriend ordered a Sprite. While we waited, we were freezing and looking around wondering where the waiters were… yet I kept assuring my boyfriend that the food was worth all of the craziness. Then he got a dirty fork. I found someone and asked for another(yes, that’s 2 times someone had to get up and find the waitstaff). My boyfriend noticed that they were using a kitchen bowl to scoop ice at the bar and he felt it wasn’t clean but I told him once again to stop fussing, the food would be fantastic. Finally, they brought our drinks… and there was a fly crawling around the glass of ice for the Sprite and a BUG of some sort(looked rather roach like) FROZENINTOTHEICE! We told the guy at the bar and then our waiter… all he said was«so do you want to cancel your order?» Needless to say… we had to leave. Nothing could keep us there and we will never be back. Sad to see the decline of this restaurant.
