I love this hidden gem! The 3 of us strolled in at 5:30 on a Wednesday and to our surprise, they had good happy hour drink specials. I think it was $ 4 for a glass of wine. It was really hard saying no! Trying to get rid of this«winter coat» right now. sad face. Anyway my friend has a health condition so he can’t have any sodium. The owner was super nice about it. We asked that he omit all salt wherever possible, and it was a huge plus that this was a family-operated hole in the wall. I doubt a big restaurant chain with mass produced food could accommodate our needs. The owner helped make suggestions and even let my friend taste his homemade tzatziki sauce to see whether he thought it was safe. It was delicious and not salty, so we were sold! We decided on the chicken wrap, falafel wrap, garlic fries, and big appetizer plate with falafels, hummus, baba ganoush, dolmas and salad. The wraps are huge for $ 7 – 8 a pop. And I never had fries with zero salt, let alone delicious fries. They were so nice and crispy, with freshly roasted garlic on top. We didn’t even miss the lack of saltiness. We ate to our heart’s content and still had a full wrap and fries left. So feel free to share your plates! We’ll be back for not only the good food, but the good service and hopefully, those $ 4 glasses of wine.

My friend and I were both stuck in traffic last night in the Santa Clara/Sunnyvale area on different roads and as we were talking on the phone we decided to stop and have dinner. We pulled off and met at Lawrence Expwy and Elko and googled restaurants — we saw were super close to Bella’s — it seemed like it was a mirage in the darkness of Sunnyvale. A 4 – 5 star rated Mediterranean restaurant that was open for dinner?! Yes please! And we had the BEST dining experience ever — the owner, Gigo and his«cousin», Jacob were SO welcoming, friendly, funny and happy. We ordered 2 big bowls of Lentil Soup(comes with thin pita bread) and the falafel and gyro salads and 2 scrumptious pieces of baklava. The soup was delish, the falafel and gyro were the best I ever had(no joke) and the baklava was out of this world. Gigo is the real deal — he is authentic, he cares about his restaurant, his customers, and the food. This is his life — so all these things are so important to him. He told us he can host company and group events, he offers catering for lunch and dinner and he has weekly BBQs outside. This wasn’t just a dinner — this was a lucky, spontaneous evening of fabulous food and new«friends». The place was crowded with regular groups and post shift UPS workers. It was lively, it was fun and the food was SOGOOD! I HIGHLY recommend Bella’s! Go and introduce yourself to Gigo — you will be happy you did! We did talk about the 1 star review he received 2 nights ago from the out of towner — the guy called btwn 9−10pm and Gigo was hoping to go home at 9pm. We saw his closing hour is listed as 10pm on his website and I think Unilocal and we suggested he change that to 8 or 9pm so he can close up at 9pm when he’s able. But there was no way Gigo was rude to that guy — he’s not the type to be rude to anyone. Just wanted to add this in before I wrapped up my review!

I’m in town for the week, traveling on business… Bella’s is the only bar/restaurant within walking distance from my hotel showing the Monday Night Football game and I just want to catch the game with a beer and a nice meal(I love Mediterranean), so I thought I’d give them a try. The game ended up going to OT, so I left my hotel to catch the end of the game at Bella’s. Their location is near impossible to find, so when I called to ask for help the man who answered was rude and said that they were closing soon anyways. I called when I left my hotel at 9pm(5 min walk). Their website advertises they are open til 10pm. When I asked the man on the phone about this he said«Honestly, the game is getting close now so I’m closing.» Yeah, no shit the game is close, that’s why I wanted to watch it. In the time it took for me to hang up, find a local taco truck across the street, order, eat 3 tacos(yummy BTW!) and get back to my hotel in time for the end of the game(about 20 mins) I could’ve been in and out of the restaurant with 40 mins to spare before closing. Advertise till 930 if you want, but don’t be the only restaurant or bar within walking distance of a hotel and close an hour early on football night. I might have gone back for lunch later this week if the food was good, too bad I will never know… you are lucky I was able to find food and catch the end of the game, otherwise I would have said Bella’s ruined my entire night. Horrid customer service. 0 stars.

I’m surprised I haven’t given them a review yet. Shame on me since I have been coming here for at least 4 years, as I work and live in the area. By far my favorite gyro wrap in the bay. They serve it with plenty of savory meat and veggie mix, wrapped in a tomato tortilla. You can get it spicy, which is awesome too, but I usually get their hot sauce on the side. Oh! I always get extra tzatziki sauce. The owner is a very sweet bald man. Always a smile on his face and has a joke to crack. They serve many other items, but I have always ordered the wrap or their kebab plates which are made on special days, they also have beer!!! Their lentil soup is pretty good. My niece once found a hair in hers, but she’s still a fan and frequents this place. I am going there today for lunch… See you soon Bella’s!

There are so many reasons I love Bella’s. The food is flavorful and comes in hearty portions with a straightforward menu and it’s fast, which is great when you’re on a lunch break. But my favorite part hands down is the owner Gigo. He’s so friendly, he knows you after one time of coming in, and he cooks the food himself. Sometimes I just come in when it’s slow and tell him what sounds good and he just whips me up something amazing. It feels like going home and having my parents make my favorite dinner. You could easily drive by and not see Bella’s sitting there by the corner, but you’d be missing out.

2.5 stars. I came here due to great reviews, and I didn’t care for it. Then I came again because it’d be a long time and I forgot I’d already been here! I was not a fan, again… So here is my review to remind myself that I found the place a little dank and«sticky» and some of the dishes were solid, but overall I wouldn’t give it 4+ stars. When there are so many other great options out there, I don’t see a point in returning. As it does have high stars, I must say I found it overrated.

DECENT Falafel wrap — it was all right, I’m not a huge fan of falafels in the first place. Their spicy sauce was amazing though. I would like to come back and try their gyro wrap. BAD Hummus — slightly more sour than I’d like. Didn’t like the pita too much either. Could be softer

When we searched for lunch in this area, there weren’t too many options and Bella’s was the closest so we decided to give it a try. It’s a little tucked away, off the main road. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. We tried a few things but my favorite was the gyro sandwich. A heads up that their spicy sauce has a pretty good kick. And on Fridays they have barbeque specials. I got the barbeque combo and it came with chicken and beef over rice, hummus, and pita, which I really enjoyed!

My friends and I came here to get some work done(yay free Internet!), and we ordered some food too. I got the gyro wrap, but it had waaaay too much whatever the white sauce was! I couldn’t really taste the meat flavor as a result, and my wrap just dripped with sauce. The spicy sauce was delicious though! The food is very fresh; I just don’t like the overload of sauce. It’s a pretty big sandwich, and it was about $ 8 pre-tax. For the amount of food, the price was reasonable, although I think more meat would have been good.

This place deserves five stars. It was pretty empty when my friend and I went on a weekday so I was hesitant eating here. However, when we walked in, the workers immediately greeted us and made small talk asking if we’ve ever been there before(which is always nice). They also answered all our questions politely, not like how other restaurants make you feel dumb for not knowing what certain foods are. I would come back here again. I ordered their chicken sandwich(pretty basic, I know) but there was something in their sauce that made it different than any other chicken sandwiches that I’ve had. Oh and I LOVE their garlic fries. Lots of flavor! You should try it out if you’re going out for lunch from work or if you’re a Mission student because the food won’t make you feel sluggish at all.

Okay I’ve been on a mediterranean/gyro kick lately… I needed something to eat near Mission college, and my handy dandy Unilocal app took me here. It is a non-descript place in a business park… but you go inside and it’s a dimly lit family-run joint. Lots of people here, even though it wasn’t lunch hour. Tons of european, middle eastern and other people were watching soccer on the TV. I went to the counter, and some cranky ass old man took my order. He asked me 3 times something… so cranky i couldn’t understand– but he really wanted to know the answer–«SPICY?» Call this weird, but this cranky chef made my time here all the better. The spicy was definitely spicy. But wow. It was really good. I highly recommend this place! Homey! Tasty! Cranky! Spicy!

I was surprised that I would enjoy a falafel in a wrap. It actually tastes better because I don’t have to eat a lot of dough of a pita from a traditional falafel dish. One of my favorite falafel place is is the falafel stop. This falafel is not as fluffy and soft as the flalafel stop Falafel. However, it still tasty. Bella’s deli offers a unique wrap which has eggplant with the falafel. It’s an interesting twists and I still enjoyed the wrap even though it’s not what I’m used to. The sauce and the flavors and everything in the wrap meshed well together cresting harmony of flavors. The rap is also warm and adds to the extra twist. I also like the surface. The manager was really nice to bring out the Food to the table and checked up on us during the meal. The ordering process is like a fast food joint. But the service and friendliness of the staff gives a warm mom and pop shop restaurant feel. This is the place to go for a quick lunch.

So, thanks Unilocal… I typed in «lunch» within my work zip code area, scrolled a little and found Bella’s. This place is located right off of Lawrence Expressway down by 237… very convenient. There was plenty of parking, and I was able to get a spot right up front. I was greeted right away by the man who turned out to be the owner who was standing right behind the counter. He explained the menu and I went ahead and ordered a falafel wrap and garlic fries. They had complimentary water… so I didn’t order a drink. He said I can have a seat, so I chose a spot outside. 5 minutes later the guy came out with my food. Lots of food. I chatted with him for a bit… turns out the place is named after his daughter Bella. How sweet. So while I ate I overheard him chatting it up with some regulars, who he knew by name. They were asking him about«Sunday». «Sunday» meaning Football Sunday. Since this place is so close to the Levis Stadium, he got some of the football crowd. He seems excited about that, which was great. After my meal, which happened to be delicious… I went inside to pay. I asked him about Sundays and he said that normally he wouldn’t be open, but on Football Sundays he will be. I think being open for the 49er fans before and after a game is a great idea… and you can even party a little in the huge parking lot. Anyway… wonderful, friendly service. This is a business that I would definitely come back too.

Great place for lunch! Kind of hidden in those little industrial buildings. The owner takes your order, get your food, enjoy then pay after! I ordered the lamb gyro… the service size for the wrap is filling. Under 8 bucks a wrap. The spicy sauce is awesome mixed with their yogurt sauce is AMAZING! They serve the rice plates on Fridays when the owner sets up the grill to bbq. I will definitely go back to check this spot out again.
