Shawna is so sweet and knowledgeable! She has helped me a number of times with turnouts and horse care when I have been out of town. Her sister who helps is also very kind and helpful. Her students seem super happy and to be having fun-which is the most important part of riding! :)

I just wanted to update my review. I recently bought my first horse(yeah!) and I wanted to say that without Shawna’s help and guidance, I would not have felt comfortable enough to do it on my own. Shawna came with me on a 2-day trip to try the horse out, and gave me her honest opinions about the horse I purchased and other horses I tried. She also advised me during the pre-purchase exam and made recommendations on what I should review before finalizing my purchase. Shawna also came to the barn on her day off to help me take delivery of my horse, which was a great comfort to me. I am looking forward to many happy years with my new mare, and I look forward to training and showing with Shawna in the future!

Don’t think you need lessons, think again. Even the most experienced rider can benefit. Perfect example, yesterday my horse spooked — she bolted and bucked. Six months ago that would have meant me landing in the dirt and possibly being injured. Thanks to the training I received from Shawna, I did not panic and was able to get my horse under control and dismount safely. That IS priceless.

Shana, is a top winning competitor in the show ring and all the ribbons and photos around her tack room demonstrate that but she becomes an understanding and very skilled instructor when teaching. She is able to adjust her style and performance expectations to the level of the rider and help them accomplish THEIR goals to their expectations. She is as skilled fine tuning the skills of current top ribbon winners as she is introducing basic horse knowledge and beginner skills to future champions. It is quite clear that her basic motivation is to help others understand and enjoy the relationship with horses that has been such an important part of her life. Her ego never gets in the way it is all about the horse and student.
