I was born and raised in Syosset, which is known for quality service at fair prices. If a business consistently provides little value, it is only a matter of time until they are forced to shut down. I can’t understand how this couple has been here for so long.
My wife took two pairs of new leather shoes in to get softened ($ 350 total value) … they told her (in very broken English) that shoe stretching would be $ 50 (insanely expensive for using technology created in the 1940s) and taking literally no worker’s effort.
The couple barely speaks English and has no manners. Made my wife go across the street to get $ 10 cash deposit (she just gave them $ 350 worth of shoes) … spent $ 3 service charge just taking money out… gotta be kidding me.
The place inside is a disaster with no organization … I just don’t see why people would go to them rather than the guy in Plainview (who charges much less). … I made a big mistake.

Franco’s right! I like this father son business in the Syosset Village. They have been here for years. I also like the idea of having my favorite shoes get a second life. Why waste and throw your favs out. The son is very sweet, and works the counter, and the dad seems busy in the back. They seem to have alot of shoes on the racks being brought in. So this «dying art» which it is in most villages… is alive and well in this village! Cheers :)
** Interesting Note: The same 1 star reviewer strangely is from brooklyn as are the two filtered reviews. Why is an angry person from brooklyn in Syosset complaining about a shoe strap price with three different names. Good job Unilocal in filtering out reviewers that try to spike results. Cheers to Unilocal and their good sense.

Purveyors of a fading art.
I have used these guys a few times to resole bar and work shoes and they always do a great job.
The prices are decent especially if you can get a few resoles out of a pair of shoes.
Parking on the street or behind.
