ordered the chicken salad and 16″ pizza, OHMY it was so good… the salad was perfectly balanced with ingredients the balsamic wasn’t overpowering and the chicken was perfect no fat on it seasoned awesomely. Now on to the pizza crisp crust dough was great, the only complaint(well I wish for) but not a deal breaker… I asked for extra cheese and there was minimal cheese you could see the dough with splotches of cheese. I’m one of those people if I pay for it I want to see and taste it. overall great place will order from here again.

Out here visiting from Rochester n.h. Was told this was the best pizza in Syracuse. And I can see why. I know where I’ll be going if I’m ever out this way again.

Never ordering from here again. I placed my order at 12:30pm, got my food at 2:15 pm. An hour and 45 minute wait. Multiple calls were placed to the restaurant and they just kept giving me the run around. My food finally came, and the delivery woman pulled up with a car full of friends. She carried on a phone conversation while handing me my food and didn’t say anything to me. Their service SUCKS! As for the food — nothing special.

I’ve been searching for good pizza around Syracuse. Bought a large pepperoni and 6 garlic knots for $ 20…this pizza is the best! Perfect crust, lots of good red sauce and pepperoni, and perfect amount of cheese(not too much). Don’t buy it by the slice here unless its recently out of the oven… it won’t taste that good. The cashier girl was nice. Great experience here.

Good pizza that is close to home. Arrived before they quoted, but they totally skimped on the pineapple when I paid for an additional topping — like one small cube per piece(not an exaggeration). I’ll try it one more time before I decide to make it a staple or not.

1) I have perpetually suffered beyond normal human tolerance while seeking quality NYC style pizza in Syracuse, NY. While I won’t describe the incredible sacrifice and enormous deficit of respect for pizza in this tiny city, I will let you know that Gianni’s turns out incredibly delicious pizza in a non-descript location on Burnet Ave in Syracuse. Want the skinny on the pizza, skip down to paragraph 6. 2) I have been discouraged from stopping in this joint due to its hard to find location and exterior experience. The signage and front of the business does not face the road, instead, the store front is perpendicular to Burnet St. So trust your GPS and turn into the almost unmarked location for fantastic pizza. 3) Today, I finally took that turn into Gianni’s Bronx Style Pizza and I swear, I didn’t want to leave. The neighborhood is a wee bit rough around the edges, however, this should not discourage anyone from visiting for an incomparable pizza experience. The entry requires navigating a few stairs and then one enters a small, cozy, old fashioned pizza place. There’s no trendy non sense here. Enjoy two or three NY Yankee photos, including the Bambino and the mighty #7, Micky Mantle.(It’s very subdued but, if I even see a small picture of NY Yankee heroes, I gloat about them.) Otherwise, the décor is stuck in the 1980’s. There are no fancy menus, slick advertising gimmicks or web site. In fact, the menu is posted on an old Pepsi menu board using plastic numbers and letters. For me, this was a ride down memory lane back home. 4) The owner is from the Bronx as I had an opportunity to talk with him when he had a second short lived pizza place in North Syracuse. He named his business Gianni’s Bronx style pizza since he was from the Bronx. There is not a Bronx style pizza. Trust me…(Confia en mi).it’s simply good old, delicious NYC style pizza. The owner, John, knocks this out of the f***ng park !!! I speculate that because of his constant presence and having his family work at Gianni’s, great care and attention is given to producing a top notch product each and every time. 5) The epitome of the NYC pizza experience is rolling into a pizza joint, asking for one or two slices and a drink, waiting a few minutes and then digging into painfully hot and delicious pizza. In NYC and surrounding areas, one generally doesn’t encounter a pizza place that isn’t busy so, that is exactly what I did today. 6) THEPIZZA— They had a limited selection of pizza available to consume as slices. I didn’t care about the different varieties. I wanted some pure pizza so I asked for some very fresh looking regular cheese pizza and a slice of Grandma pizza. I don’t know Grandma pie to be often offered in NYC so, I felt adventurous(I found this in Upstate NY and Trenton, NJ). My slices were heated to blazing hot. Not all pizza can tolerate this. they often get dry and lose taste… NOT here !! These are legit NYC style pizzas. The regular cheese slice combined an exquisite quality crust with superb sauce and cheese. The garlic Grandma pie was exquisite if not a religious experience. Crust was crisp and chewy while the garlic taste was fresh and delightful. hey, it’s garlic so, it’s going to linger for a while. In fact, I’m still enjoying this incredible treat. 7) Conclusion: I’ve been a fool for not going here previously. It is phenomenal. Get your NYC1970’s pizza vibe on and never hesitate to visit this cheerfully run family pizza joint!!!

This place is wonderful! We moved here from Brooklyn and this pizza is definitely NYC style. The crust is perfectly thin, the sauce clearly homemade, and there is enough cheese without being overwhelming. The staff is also friendly and accommodating. We will be back!

I gave this place three different visits before I wrote this review. My first visit was just for pizza and it was very good. Second and third visit was for pizza, calzones and wings. Inconsistency is a big problem for this pizza shop. The pizza on the last two visits was absolutely disgusting. Biting into the calzone gave me a mouthful of raw dough. The wings are absolutely pathetic. The customer service is uncaring, rude and nasty. I also observed bare hand contact with food, no hair restraints, and no gloves.

I’m giving this place a 3 because of sanitation. They have good pizza for sure. Not amazing like NYC or the Bronx but definitely better than the crap locally. I went there and watched a young teen stand behind the counter(around the food, no gloves, no hair net, no apron). I believed she was an employee! I handed her my money and she replied«oh i don’t work here.» The entire time she was in and out of the kitchen and what really concerned me is that she took off bell peppers from a sandwich the cook was making and he said nothing! I won’t be returning. Too bad because the pizza was decent!

Best pizza in Syracuse. Actually, it’s probably the best pizza I’ve ever had outside of NYC. Convenient location and always a good experience when I order/pick up. Their wing sauce is pretty incredible as well!

I ordered a calzone and breaded mushrooms online and it was mediocre at best. Six dollars for seven breaded mushrooms is an outrageous price. The calzone was completely under cocked and although I ordered extra ricotta, I had a ton of it and barely any mozzarella cheese. This is my first and last order with them.

I was out looking for a quick bite to eat while passing through Syracuse on a business trip and I am very glad I pulled up Unilocal instead of stopping at some random fast food joint. The pizza here was fantastic. Light and crispy crust and a rich and flavorful sauce. Very good. Service was friendly and very quick. The owner even came to the counter to tell me a story while I waited on the pizza. A very charming and cheerful fellow. Definitely worth the detour from the highway.

These guys littered my entire apartment complex with their flyers on peoples’ cars. The legality of this seems to be a grey area, so if they don’t get hit with a fine I hope that the owner sees this and learns that we don’t want your garbage on our cars! I hate constantly being the target of advertising just because I live in an apartment complex. It’s private property and should be treated no different than someone’s house; you are trespassing.

This is about as good of pizza as your gonna get In the area. It’s my go to place for a few quick slices their steak and pepper is pretty good. The staff are always friendly prices are fair. I believe their sauce is made in house. I’ve had their wings a few times and they were good also stayed crispy during the drive home so i can’t complain nothing’s worse than soggy wings They are also opening a new location is cicero

This is the best non-chain pizza place we have found so far in Syracuse that delivers to us. Yes, we get lazy sometimes — especially in the winter! The cheese and sauce on the pizza are good, but I find the bottom of the crust to be a bit tough/chewy. When we first moved to Syracuse, having spent a large part of my childhood on Long Island and frequently visiting NYC, I thought, «NY pizza again, can’t wait!» Sadly for me, their pizza does not match those memories. However, over time I have realized that for Syracuse, it is pretty good. Their meatball parm subs are good too, though not anything special. I’ve found their garlic knots to be flavorful but tough/chewy, though my husband likes them. However, being from the west coast, he hadn’t ever had garlic knots before we moved here.(A tragedy, I know!) The salads I have gotten have been fresh and made well, a big plus. The staff and owner are friendly, especially the owner. The delivery is fairly quick, and we haven’t ever had any problems with our orders that I can recall. Overall, it is an ok place to get pizza, etc. but it isn’t fantastic.

Solid 3-Stars. I ordered a 12-inch pie and some wings for delivery. The pizza was solid and definitely one of the better places in Syracuse. It’s NY style pizza, which is my favorite. The wings were actually really good if not a bit on the pricier side at about a little less than dollar/wing. The delivery did take some time but that’s to be expected given the snow. Don’t have enough experience with pizza in Syracuse but most places that I have been to would have barely made three stars if I’m generous. Papa Johns would have received a 3-Stars for comparison.

I never thought this pizza joint, on the side of a building, almost invisible to the road would end up being the best pizza I’ve had in Syracuse. If you like New York style(thin) pizza, you’ll love this place. Also their Dart wing sauce is great, basically a mix of hot sauce and bbq. I have absolutely no complaints aside from the fact that the wings could have used more of the sauce(order some on the side), great place, a friend of mine even said the same thing, his absolutely favorite in all of Syracuse. I’ve had a lot of pizza around Syracuse, and I have some pretty strong opinions about most places, but this place surprised me and surpassed anything else I’ve tried.
