Excellent service, excellent staff! This is the second time I had to take my car to All Transmission & Automotive and not only did they fix my car with no problem, they are also courteous and trustworthy! I am a customer for life!

After I found out from a Jiffy Lube at 13 654 S 1^st Ave in Burien, WA with my white 1996 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4.0L inline 6, 5 spd manual transmission from a person named Shin I believe; that there was coolant mixed with my engine oil and that a blown head gasket was suspected, I went online by instinct right afterwards. I did some quick searching and called this shop at 7:15pm in the evening on Saturday, October 17^th. This is my first time using this shop, and I hadn’t asked anyone about this shop. Bill answered the phone and recommended I have my car towed to his shop immediately so that my vehicle could be on Monday’s workflow. I called a tow company on my own terms since I had Geico’s Emergency Roadside Service. The vendor dispatched Lang Towing out, and Geico paid for the first 5 of the 25 miles that my car had to be towed, so I paid $ 98.64 out of pocket for the tow. Bill called me on the afternoon of Sunday, October 18^th and said he had put my car inside his shop late Saturday night after I dropped it off, this way it hadn’t sat outside overnight. Tom called me the morning of Monday, October 19^th and said that it would cost $ 89.95 for a diagnostic and I verbally agreed to it. Then he told me there was a lot of residue from oil in my overflow tank and I consented to their doing a flush of the system for another $ 100. At the time I picked up my car that same evening and walked in the office, I was a little confused when I saw the invoice stated that both my radiator and my overflow tank were flushed; but then it made sense. Tom filled me in on the situation and let me ask questions at my disposal. He told me his technicians had done a compression test, I forget whether it was electronic or manual (Type in «compression test to check bad head gasket,» on a web search, and click on «trou​bleshoot​myve​hi​cle​.com» search result). Tom verbally stated that my head gasket was not blown from the tests they did, and he said my pressure was at 164 psi. All Transmissions and Automotive replaced my coolant as well, the invoice disclosed it was an extended life formula. One small discrepancy is that they didn’t disclose on my written invoice about the possible blown head gasket (which is the reason I brought my vehicle in). Bill, Tom and I discussed it verbally which is all right. My total repair bill came to $ 322 including taxes by the way. I did drive my car for a few miles without being on the freeway on the way home, and I kept an eye on the thermostat. It got to 210 degrees as usual, 215 only once for a brief time. I think it’s just that my cooling system is adjusting to the new fluids and having them flow through the system as a whole. I will keep an eye on it tomorrow when I drive to work and see what happens. I will keep an eye on the fluid levels as well, and I will call this shop first thing if something comes up. In the meantime, Bill and Tom did go out on a limb for me and they gave me my car back on Monday, October 19^th like I said I needed.

Questionable ‘discount’
I was referred to this shop to have suspension work done due to a clanging noise that occurred when I went over bumps. I was given a referral card that was good for 10% off up to $ 50 dollars. The technician informed me the front struts were going bad and gave me a price for the work. The quote did not break out the parts, labor and discount. When we came to pick up the car, the price was exactly what we were quoted but the bill did not include the $ 50 discount. The manager, Dan, who worked up the quote wasn’t there at the time and I was told we would need to call back later to speak with him. When I called back he told me the discount was worked into the price and explained since he had 15 years of experience he was able to just make the numbers work. I had been told they were using a labor calculator for the cost of the labor and I assume the the cost of the parts are what they are. So unless the numbers were fudged somewhere, we did not receive the discount we were told. To top it off, the bill also made note that it’s important to replace the back struts at the same time of replacing the front as they often wear out at the same rate. This would have been nice to know upfront and not after we had just paid $ 1600 to fix the problem. We will replace the back struts but not with this shop.

As a Tacoma shop owner since 1998, I have seen shops come and go and know we are all in this together. The days of back-​biting and fighting each other for work is past and unnecessary. There is plenty of business to go around by just taking care of customers the way we’d like to be treated.
We specialize in repair and diagnosis of all makes and models. We are not however, a transmission builder, so I call Wake and his crew a few times a year for transmission advice or parts. They are always professional, extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable. I have at no time, every had the impression I was an inconvenience, or not worth their time because I’m not bringing them much business. As far as their work, I’ve had seven transmissions built by them since Wake’s owned it and never had a single problem. Fair price and product as promised. I might ad, they’ve never tried to poach a customer of mine.
I wanted to write this to share some positive praise in an otherwise rough and overtly negative industry. I believe Wake and Cassandra share my personal convictions of integrity and in all things, remaining above reproach.
Yes, it is rare for one shop owner to promote another in the same neighborhood, but praise is due where praise is due and we all take enough negative flak in this industry because of the poor decisions and unethical business practices of shops past.

I have had my vehicle serviced here for years including a transmission and transfer case rebuild. The transfer case didn’t last 14,000 miles. I had it repaired at an out of town GMC dealership as that is where it broke down. When I brought the repair bill in I was told there was only a 1 year warranty and that the leak had to have come from the case being hit. There could be no other reason.
I offered to call the GMC Mechanic so he could explain what the problem was and the case was not damaged. He refused to do this and said he needed to see the transfer case himself. Guess he didn’t want to hear from a professional mechanic what they did wrong. This case leaked from the day they rebuilt it and I doubt they had checked the level even the last time it was serviced by them. If you want it done cheap go here. If you want it done professionally go elsewhere.

I had this business recommended by a friend when the transmission went out in my van. I called around and got three prices. these guys were the cheapest by $ 500 (cost $ 2500). they also gave me a 3 year warranty or 36 000 mils where the other shops were 3 months, 3,000 miles. I figured that would be the end of it but about 2 ½ months later the transmission abruptly failed again. I called them and they promptly towed it in. I waited on pins and needles for them to rip me off in some way but a few days later they called and told me that a solenoid had failed but they had repaired it. not only was the repair at no charge but they didn’t ding me for the tow that I just knew they would charge me for. Net result two great repairs, excellent customer service and no charge for the warranty repair at all. I absolutely will go back to these guys again. They also took my credit card with no problem unlike some of these posts that said they only take cash. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back or to recommend anyone to go here.

Okay, first off I don’t trust repair places, generally speaking. Over the years I have had my fair share of rip offs and full out liars when it came down to auto repairs so when my 2001 Daewoo stopped running on the way to work I was apprehensive about the recommendation to go to All Transmissions when I called Les Schwaab hoping they could fix my fan belt. Well, it wasn’t a fan belt. I had it towed to All Transmissions, oh by the way, they have free towing if you get your car fixed there (something else I didn’t know). It didn’t take them any time at all to diagnose the real problem: blown timing belt-​blown engine. Tommy Crow was so considerate, explaining the why’s and what-​fors and how much. I opted to get another vehicle as my «Woo» had over 184,000 miles on it and he allowed me to store my vehicle there for free, recommending an auction place that would give me a fair enough price, removed my good stereo and plates-​also no charge. I have to say he made an otherwise miserable situation so much easier by being so professional, courteous and, yes, compassionate. I will take future car maintenance/​repairs to All Transmissions and Automotive without hesitation.

My chrysler van lost all forward motion while driving and a friend of mine recommended all transmissions to me cause she had had her transmission rebuilt through them and said they treated her very well. I called and talked to Wake and he was very helpful and even towed my van in at no cost. He called me when my van arrived, which was nice and and called me every step of the way through me vans repairs. once I had a quote from Wake I (like anyone else would do) called around, all transmissions was lower than anyone else I had called. When i went down to the shop it was so clean and well kept, even the techs were clean. I picked up my vehicle up and wake had even had it washed for me! I have and will always recommend all transmissions. I go there for all my vans needs.

This place is a rip off!!!
First they tell me that they need to take my transmission out to look at what the problem is. Then they tell me that it’s going to cost over $ 2500 for the repairs so I opted not to do it. Then they want to charge me $ 1500 for taking my transmission out and to tell me how much it was going to be. Nothing in writing, no transmission returned to me, no parts, NO WAY I WOULD EVER GO THERE AGAIN. To top it off they would not even take my credit card nor a check for payment for the «services» provided and I had to take time off work because only the manager could accept a cash payment. I paid $ 1500 for them to keep my car for over a month and return it with no transmission.
If you want to loose your car, transmission, and mind go to them.
