My wife went here after a surgery for physical rehab. The PT people are very good. Little else is. She is on Coumadin. They either did not take the required blood samples to monitor her INR or they changed some records. Her INR on a Friday was already dangerously high(they did take a blood sample that day) but someone decided to continue her Coumadin over the weekend. As a result her incisions began to bleed nearly two weeks after the surgery. Her surgeon was furious, demanded that she be removed from the facility immediately as their level of care was putting her«at risk.» We spent six hours in the emergency room while her INR levels were brought back into a safe range. We brought her home where she finally made decent progress healing.

Staff is friendly and nice. Grandma is spending 3 months here. Her health is improving greatly! When they get busy they will leave her alone for long periods of time. But it’s understandable considering how many patients they have here. Always patient and kind. Can’t wait until she gets to leave. Huge thanks to manor care. Highly recommended.

I read the previous review and I must admit to being surprised and wondering if we went to the same establishment. While it was very clean and no institutional smell which is important, there were a lot of things that I found unsatisfactory. My husband went there after a huge back surgery and needed to be more mobile before he could come home. On the plus side, the therapists were wonderful and ever so helpful. On the bad side, almost everything else. No cook or dietician ever came to visit my husband and while he could select what he wanted for his meals, the selections were not always things that sounded good. When you have little appetite food needs to sound good as well as taste good. He chose to either eat in his room or to go to their alternate room and almost every meal his food was barely warm. Imagine meatloaf and gravy that is cold. One morning he called me and said it sounded like evening staff was having a party in the hall and it went on for hours. I complained to the nurse manager and it got better but it shouldn’t have happened in the first place. He was supposed to get up and walk but could only do so when someone was there with him. I managed two visits per day but sometimes they were doing PT so he needed more walks. The aids were supposed to walk with him but they never had time. On the weekends the staff was so short it was downright scary. If a family member stays there, another member of the family needs to be vigilant and let the staff know you’re around and then the care is ok. I feel sorry for those poor folks who don’t have anyone to advocate for them. This place is probably better than a lot of places but still far too many holes In patient care for more than three stars

My mother spent 3 weeks here recovering from a hip fracture. It was a very good experience. The staff were very friendly and helpful. When we toured the place what really stood out to us was how clean it was and there was no smell. Everyone smiled and made eye contact. Can’t say the same for other places we looked at. Manorcare was further for us to drive but the surgeon had recommended it. We would definitely do the same. The therapists, nurses and attendants all did a wonderful job taking care of Mom during a difficult time. She made a full recovery. The food was excellent there was a menu to choose from and the head cook visited Mom several times to make sure she was happy. Overall a very good experience.
