I have to start with mentioning that his glasses are crooked! Seriously… they’re very crooked! We have been back to him with our son 3 times now for the same ongoing problems that started after being given a new prescription by him. It is obvious something is going wrong and has been for 4 months now. When we try to explain what is happening, headaches, eyestrain, nausea, blurred vision, he acts as if these are false symptoms and really doesn’t give a rip as to what we have to say. He said that these are multiple different«types» of symptoms that just don’t add up. With every question or concern I raise, he unnecessarily defends himself instead of offering actual answers or assistance in trying to get to the bottom of the problem. He speaks to us like we’re idiots just for being there, his attitude is that are we a pain in the tush now and just wants us gone. As others have mentioned, he is very rude to his staff which creates an even more unsetteling atmosphere on top of HIS uncomfortable approach. He has mentioned the fact that our son likes to read and play video games over and over as if that is the cause. He’s a typical kid for God’s sake… I’ve played video games since we had to carve them out of stone and it’s never caused me issues. I guess to finish this review, I’ll say«never trust an eye doctor wearing crooked glasses.»

I recently had an eye issue and sought an appointment at Cascade Eye & Skin Centers. The staff was so kind and efficient I forgot I was at a doctors office. There attention to my privacy was better than I could have expected, no one yelling names in the reception area. I saw Dr Gildenhar who took the time to first investigate what my problem was and when it started, this all before he even began the exam. I left the office feeling confident that my vision would soon return to normal. Thank you Cascade and Dr Gildenhar for being so efficient.

After changing vision insurances with my new teaching job, I decided to try Cascade Eye Center because I already went to Cascade for skincare needs. I was greeted pleasantly by the receptionist upon checking in, and I really enjoyed my nurse who started my exam, Mo. She was wonderful. It all went downhill when I was seen by Dr. Gildenhar. To say he greeted me rudely is an understatement, he didn’t even greet me at all. I am a new patient, and he didn’t even shake my hand or introduce himself. He abruptly just asked the nurse what my prior eye issues were. He snapped at her a couple different times during the the course of my 5 minute exam, which made the atmospere even more uncomfortable. Mind you, I am Type 1 diabetic and after he was finished with my exam and said«Everything is fine», I was the one who had to ask — «Well is everything ok with my eyes because of my diabetes?» and he said«Well yes nothing is changing». I am so disappointed with his service and demeanor and I feel as though I wasted my yearly exam provided through my insurance. I will not be going back.

Too bad Unilocal doesn’t let you leave less than one star. Was in town and had to see an eye doctor, and this man is just plain MEAN. He did not even introduce himself to me. I don’t understand how people like this can become a «doctor.» I had a problem with my eye and he answered my questions tersely and made me feel like a total idiot. If jerks can be in the«health care» industry than I have completely lost faith in humanity. It was interesting seeing his«bio» on the eye center’s website. He sounds like a normal human being, but in fact he completely lacks bedside manner and does not possess average social skills. You can say«Hello» to your patient. And you don’t have to sneer every time he or she asks a question. Avoid at all costs.
