Menchie’s

A little disappointed with the lack of variety they had. There were about 3 machines down. When I walked in someone poked there head from the back and said hi and didn’t come back. When it was time to pay we waited a few minutes until another person came from the back to ring us up.

Ok we have been recitals here for 4 years James center Menchies I’m guessing they changed owners it was a happy fun place to be now it’s rude service and a poor atmosphere

This Menchie’s is located in a corner unit in the James Center Plaza. The store is a little smaller than some of the other area Menchie’s locations, but it is very bright and inviting. There are 14 flavors of self-​serve yogurt and more than 50 toppings priced at $ 0.51 per ounce. They also have freshly baked waffle bowls and cones if you’re looking for a little something extra for your yogurt treat.
Menchie’s offers a rewards program called «mySmileage» which allows customers to accumulate points for each dollar spent and the points can be redeemed for free yogurt. The program also gives customers a free yogurt on their birthday! There is also a 15% military discount. In addition to self-​serve yogurt, they sell 16 oz and 32 oz pre-​packaged yogurt to go if you’re looking to stock up your freezer.
The store changed ownership at the beginning of 2015, so I’ve noticed a few changes since the store originally opened. I have yet to meet the new owner whereas the former owner was always on hand and often worked at the store. She was very hospitable and customer oriented, so it was always a treat to stop by because you felt like family. Although I haven’t met the new owner, the staff always provides me with great service and makes me feel at home. It’s still a great place to go for a yummy treat!

I always enjoy the Menchies chain, but this particular location is by far the best I’ve visited. It’s always clean, well stocked, well set up, and the workers are pleasant. I compare all other Menchies locations to this one.

This Menchie’s is awesome! I come here often with my girlfriend and this location always has the best flavor and the friendliest employees! I absolutely love the peanut butter sauce especially, but the other sauces are delicious as well! They change their flavored regularly so you’re always in for a pleasant surprise, and their waffle bowls and chips are to die for! They have SO many toppings to choose from as well as many fruit selections. Every time I come in, I’m greeted with very friendly staff that are very attentive and want to make sure you have a great experience.
Definitely will be back; Menchie’s is favorite my go-​to froyo spot to bring the whole family!

I love froyo! I get so excited about that 9 times out of 10, I forget to check in. With the weather getting nicer, you’ll probably catch me in here more often. The fact that it’s yogurt and supposed to be «healthier» is what I’ll go with. Hah.
They have a pretty decent selection of toppings to use. Most times, it’s fresh. Sometimes, you can tell it’s been sitting there all day — tossed and turned, left hanging, whatever. Overall, great. And I never have a problem with the froyo being too wet… if that’s even a way to describe it. The consistency is perfect! There. Lol.

I can’t believe I haven’t been here before. I’ve passed Menchie’s tons of times! I usually go to Yogurtland. I really like the flavor selection. I’m a chocolate fan and there were 3 different chocolate options. There are tons of candy & cookie options as well. If you want fruit, they have fruit. My favorite toppings of all were the chocolate covered strawberries and the Reeses peanut butter sauce. SO good!
If you don’t want your frozen yogurt in a cup then you have the option of using a freshly made waffle cone bowl. They’re made right in front of you. The store smells amazing. :~)

It was in the evening we visited. There was a boy at the register and then a girl came out after. The boy said hello, and asked us if we’ve been here before. The girl came out and started mopping or cleaning the floor in front of the froyo. She didn’t seem friendly and got in our way with the mopping, not saying a word. manners.
Let’s hope our next visit is better.

I visited this Menchie’s today and it was my first Menchie’s experience. I loved it! The one girl who was working was super friendly and the lobby was really clean and well-​kept. What I liked best about this place was how many different flavors and toppings were available. I live in kent, so normally I go to Yogurtland, and Menchie’s has way better toppings. The Reese’s peanut butter sauce is SO good. Overall, it’s an awesome experience and the perfect snack.

Love my frozen yogurt! I always get the cake batter flavor. I’m a creature of habit, but it never disappoints. They have my favorite frozen yogurt in the area!

Awesome frozen yogurt! They had a ton of flavor and topping options! We were walking up to the store and the staff was cleaning, so we almost walked away because we thought they were closing. Fortunately, we still went in to check and they explained they just had a huge party of people leave and they were just cleaning up after them. Impressive. Not many businesses value intermittent cleaning now a days. We loved how clean the place was and how friendly the staff was. We also loved the froyo! We will be back!

Menchies fro-​yo is mostly self-​serve so not much to say but as for my experience, it was pretty friendly. I think the lady at the counter must have been a manager but she was quite the cheery person to be working all alone. with no one else to socialize but her customers.
My friend and I have been to Menchies [not this location] plenty of times and know how to get our bucketful of fro-​yo so we did our thing.
However, they did not have many flavors… nor flavors I was excited for. It was just whatever. I got some of the Original Tart and Dole Pineapple [soft serve] and I think Pomegranate? It was alright nothing special. I sometimes wonder if Menchies is too soft… I don’t like my fro-​yo super soft.
When we waited in line. the people in front of us took forever. and I did not want my already soft fro-​yo to become softer and it isn’t like I could nibble on it while waiting since we do pay by the ounce haha.
Oh wells, overall it was a normal day at Menchies.

Cannot be beat! I love Menchies! Best flavors, texture, and toppings. Great prices. This store is clean and bright as well.

Menchie’s is a nice place to go to for frozen yogurt. The staff if super friendly and walks you through everything when it’s your first time. They have a wide verity of frozen yogurts and endless toppings. You can also choose to have a bowl with or without a waffle cone.
The only down side for me is nothing made Menchie’s original from all the other frozen yogurt shops in Tacoma. Also, the selection of beverages could use some work.
I would go again… But only if I was in the area.

Squeal! A Menchies near me!!! You know, it’s true what they say, «Not all frozen yogurt places are created equal.» Who says that, you may ask? Well… I do…
I’m not one to jump all over «chains,» but Menchies is successful for a reason. Their yogurt is super creamy and flavorful, their toppings are always plentiful, and their prices are lot lower than some other yogurt places I have frequented.
The staff are also friendly, and have no problem with you sampling the yogurt flavors. Man, I love this new frozen yogurt trend. Yum!!!

I love this place. I have twin toddlers, they’re like a little gang and when they want to extort me I usually have to pay them off with frozen yogurt. We’ve actually been to a few other frozen yogurt joints out here in T-​town (one in Tacoma Mall, Gibsons, some random place in UP) and I like this one the best. They offer pretty much the same thing as every other yogurt spot… various flavors (they did have a pink lemonade recently which was divine) various toppings (including my all time favorite — mochi), a rewards program, etc… but the thing that sets them apart for me is, they go the extra mile to be über kid friendly. They also offer waffle bowls which I’ve never noticed at the other yogurt places, but I digress. Friendly staff, even if they are mostly teenagers. I’ve never gotten a snotty/​bored teenager cashier. They engage my kids, offer them choice in color of spoons, stickers and tattoos. Very accommodating. There was even a time when they were out of fresh strawberries and the (I believe) owner just finished cutting up some more and gave me a small bowl on the house because it wasn’t ready when I was putting my toppings on. They are patient and take their time explaining everything they have to offer. Not to mention the place is cute, bright, inviting and always clean. This is officially our go to spot for yogurt.

The place is great — I love how its set up so you pay by weight, which makes it’s very easy to sample several flavors, of which they have many and constantly mixing new ones! A great reason to keep coming back! I had a salt caramel/​chocolate mixture that was even better than I expected.
Very clean and friendly atmosphere — a great combination! One of my pet peeves is having to hunt for parking — not the case here, lots of easy parking, great location.
Hey Menchies, you got everything right so far… maybe you might consider making pizza in the future?
