Such a hidden gem! The lumpia here is made with love and it really shows. It’s a small place ran by mother and son and they are such amazing people who care about their customers and the quality of the food. Tons of different flavors so you can mix and match, there’s something for everyone there! Do yourself a favor and go eat there!

If you love Filipino lumpia, this is the place to visit in Tacoma. Just a short — less than 5 minutes– drive from the nearest I-5 exit. The lumpia that are made here are just a buck apiece. Most importantly, they are cooked fresh and they taste like the real McCoy. And this is coming from someone who can make great lumpia when she wants — but they are a LOT of work. Northwest Lumpia has both original Filipino and a variety of fusion styles — there are ten different types. We ordered 3 different types –12 lumpia for 10 dollars. They come with a choice of dipping sauces. They were the perfect hand food to eat while driving. The service was fast and friendly.

This place is great!!! Really nice people and very attentive. Lumpia flavors are very good. Definitely stop by if you are in the area between 11am-2pm. Short window to eat at this place. You will not be disappointed.

Tried this place for the first time, my step kids had never tried lumpia before so we took them here. The owner explained how everything worked and what the different flavors were before we ordered. When they came out they were divided into sacks by each flavor. Very convenient. The lumpia was cooked just right, very crisp but not over done. And you could taste the difference in flavors between all the ones we ordered. This place will definitely be on our list of places to go back to!

Are you looking for a place to get your lumpia fix? Look no further my fellow Unilocalers! The lumpia gods have smiled upon us mortals & blessed us with Northwest Lumpia! Thank-you lumpia gods! Or we should just thank the owner, Charles & his wife for opening up Northwest Lumpia? From the traditional Filipino lumpia to a fusion of current taste from around the country & world you’ll find an assortment of various tasting lumpia all wrapped in crispy lumpia wrappers. Nothing but lumpia is sold here! No hamburgers, no hot dogs, no adobo, no vegetables except whatever is inside the lumpia. Just lumpia to wet your lips! The process is very simple. You either select which combo you want or just buy each lumpia roll sold individually by the $ 1. You can mix & match your flavored lumpia. Drinks are sold by the can. My picks are the traditional Filipino lumpia(Angel’s Original) and the Taco Mix. The Taco Mix is basically taco seasoned meat and deep fried. Very similar to a crisp burrito. My brother liked the Mojo Crillo which is a interpretation of the Cuban pulled pork sandwich and the Siopao Mix which is slightly sweet but very similar to eating the Filipino steamed bun. There are 10 flavors to choose from ranging from the Original Ground Beef, Becca’s Favorite, Angel’s Original(the traditional Filipino flavored lumpia), Taco Mix, Chicken Teriyaki flavor, Adobo Mix, Mojo Crillo, Sweet & Sour, Siopao Mix, and Brown Sugared Banana. Also, at NW Lumpia there is a special of the month I believe. Currently it’s a Scampi Flavored lumpia. For those of us who know what it takes and how much time consuming it takes to make lumpia. It’s not hard but extremely time consuming especially when you have to roll the buggers. A lot of them too! I remember a time when I made lumpia for the first time. I had lumpia that were either rolled to skinny or rolled some that no longer looked like lumpia but fat sized burritos. Not that eating a lumpia that was the size of a burrito was a bad thing but it just didn’t look consistent with the other rolls that I had done. So my first time making lumpia had a mixture of lumpia sized lumpia, some were like tequitas(long & skinny) and then you had the fat boy sized burritos. Guess which ones were eaten first? Yeah, no one ever complained about the burrito sized lumpia. Location is on the deep end of Center St. heading down towards down-town Tacoma. It’s a small cute looking green building snuggled in between two businesses. Yeah, I said«cute» because it is! Probably, the only thing I would like to have with my lumpia is rice. No big deal. It just mean’s more room for more lumpia. So go ahead and dip your egg roll into your sweet & sour sauce! You can thank the lumpia gods for bringing this delicious food to the PNW or you can not be weird about it and just thank Charles and his wife for blessing you with Northwest Lumpia!

First time here, it’s a tiny place with 4 tables and a counter but it’s clean and as soon as I walked in the guy behind the counter greeted me with a big smile and explained the menu options. I ordered 4 lumpia and a drink for $ 4.50 plus tax. My choices were 2 adobo, 1 siopao and 1 Becca’s favorite. I liked them all but my favorite was Becca’s, I liked the sweetness of the spices. The sauces that came with the lumpia were good and seems that they make them there but I didn’t care much for the garlic one, too vinegary for me. Overall I liked them and I will continue going there when the lumpia craving strikes.

The service was excellent. The location is a easy to miss little green/yellow house hidden next to a auto part/tool place. I wish I could give this place a 5 star rating because the service provided was amazing. If your a regular, they spend quite a few minutes talking to you and coming back to see how you’re doing. They seem to know the only other customer in the shop pretty well to know what his travel arrangement has been recently. The lumpia was just okay. There was a bitterness to the lumpia, too much soy sauce or salt. It kind of ruin the lumpia. Dip the lumpia in the sauce they provided and it improve the taste of the lumpia. It add a sweetness to the lumpia and mask the bitterness of it pretty well. Just okay overall, I’ll be back to try again just in case the bitterness of the lumpia was just due to then having a off day.

Excellent! I tried the 4 lumpia and drink combo and at the end, I was full, but ordered 2 more just because they are THATGOOD! They are only open 3 hours per day M-F, but you can set up appointment for ‘off hours’. They even have a loyalty program! I’ll definitely be back, especially when I need to feed a crowd for a party !!

After having terrible luck chasing down the lumpia truck, my husband and I were ecstatic to find this hidden gem. It’s just a tiny little building in an industrial area, where you’d probably never expect to find delicious food, but this lumpia is legit. I appreciate the different fusion flavors — I’d much rather have a variety than 10 of the same basic flavor. Always try the daily special; while they can be weird(turkey and stuffing lumpia, anyone?) they almost always work surprisingly well. Their seating is rather limited, but we’ve only ever run into one other person/couple during any of our visits, and most often they are picking up takeout. The décor is exceptionally sparse and the music comes from a small boombox, but I’m willing to forgive that since I’m not coming for the entertainment. I must agree with others, their hours are terrible. I really wish they were at least open on Saturdays. My husband is the bigger lumpia fanatic in the family and he is almost always working during the brief span they’re open for business. If they expanded their hours and their menu just a smidge, I’m certain they’d make a killing. The family that runs the place is really sweet. They’re always super friendly and if they initially mess up your order, they go above and beyond to make it right. This is a spot we always try to take out of town visitors to — definitely try it out!

The only bad thing I have to say about this place is the limited hours. They’re only open like 3 hours a day! How is anyone supposed to make it there with those hours? Also I wish there was more than just lumpia because I really would like a full traditional filipino meal. Guess I’ll have to keep going to Marisol’s for that.

Picked up 5 dozen for appetizer for large group & it was a hit! Adults and kids alike loved them. Great variety. The customer service was excellent while ordering. He answered questions. Also, everything was clearly labeled so people knew which lumpia type they were eating. Look forward to our next gathering or maybe we’ll pick up a dozen for dinner. We highly recommend the place & food.

OK… bought this lumpia for a company potluck, and it’s a HOMERUN!!! SOMUCHSO that everyone asked me to let them know where I got it, so of course, I shared them this link. Northwest Lumpia has SO many choices. My dad was the one who ordered it, and tasted different flavors before settling on I believe four. GREATJOB Charles! Warmest regards to your lovely wife and to your mom(Auntie Luz)!! Pretty soon, all over Tacoma(and hopefully even outside of Tacoma), people will go… «GOTLUMPIA?». ^.^

Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, YUM! I tried Lumpia at a filipino wedding once, and they were so good, that I try to find Lumpia at farmers markets, fairs, vender fairs, ext: Northwest Lumpia is by far the BEST lumpia that I’ve ever had! They had 10 variaties, and a special Lumpia, so many options, and different combinations. The lumpia’s were real food, nothing over processed or fake, they all tasted fresh, and were served hot, cooked perfectly. This is a must try for anyone in the area.

So my 3 star rating is definitely not because of the service is not impeccable because it is nor is it because the food is bad. Now, I may be a little biased because I am a fan of traditional lumpia but the whole fusion lumpia thing just isn’t for me. I tried most of their flavors by purchasing a dozen and found all the rolls to be just okay. One in particular was too salty and others meh… nothing to call home about. They only serve Lumpia and drinks, which is somewhat disappointing. Definitely would be a plus is they added a side to the rolls. This place has very limited hours and is almost invisible unless you look for the tiny green painted building on Center street. There are only 3 tables to sit in and not much to look at. Good place for a quick snack but not a lunch with girlfriends. One thing that does deserve 5 stars though is the service that this little family owned business gives to it’s customers. Absolutely friendly and willing to accommodate.
