My first visit here and Staci was 100% the best! She was kind, not chatty/​gossipy (which IMO is the worst) but did hold great conversation! The ambiance is upscale but the environment is casual, prices are very reasonable —-and my hair looks fantastic! Definitely recommend Staci who even came in on her day off!

Went in for my first Brazilian wax with Kealoha and it was great! I felt so comfortable and will definitely be going back!

I decided to take the plunge and give the salon a try after it being recommended. My appointment was with Stephanie, and she was amazing! She took the time to make sure that she knew exactly what color I was looking for. The color came out better than I could ever imagine! She trimmed and thinned my hair out beautifully, my hair feels so much healthier now. Being fairly new to the area my hair has been out of whack, due to the weather, Stephanie gave me some insight and some solutions to help remedy the problem. Overall my whole experience was great! Fun, chill atmosphere, and decorated very nicely! Definitely found my new hairdresser!

Paid cash for three additional times and was never able to reschedule the rest of the sessions after she was gone for surgery. Never received a refund.

Mediocre cut, bad at appointment scheduling.
For $ 30, you would think you could get a decent hair cut, and a quick answer on an appointment. Well, you would think wrong at Platinum.
Look, when I call and ask for an appointment, the wrong answer is to say you don’t know and you’ll call me back. Really? You don’t have an appointment book like the other bazillion hair stylist shops in town? Knowing your availability is so challenging that you have to work on it and get back to me?
Nope, sorry. I’ve been to your salon twice, and both times my hair came back not nearly as good as it should have been despite me showing you a picture of me with my preferred cut. WTH, guys? Come on.

Very disappointed in Stacey the manicurist who offered an Amazon Local certificate for a manicure and pedicure. I called her numerous times with no response. I visited the salon to request a call back. She finally texts back that she has no availability until the end of January. Please get a refund. So unbelievably rude to a patient and paying customer! Not even an apology for her lack of response.
I have found others at the salon very nice, especially Stephanie and Claudette, however I will never give any business to Stacey!

Went in with a groupon for a full foil and cut with Heather. I came in wanting to go from brown to blonde gradually and she did a fantastic job. The color on my hair was not lifting as well as she wanted so she took her time and made sure that it was done right. I was impressed in how she made sure that everything was perfect from start to finish without getting sloppy and trying to hurry through

I purchased the groupon and Heather was amazing. She was very attentive and listened to what I wanted. She is very easy to talk to and made sure I was comfortable with length, cut, style. I will defiantly be back to get highlights from her.

Sarah has been my stylist for the past couple of years now. I began seeing her as a student. Not only is she extremely talented but she has the eye to know what works best for you and your face. Not everyone does. She is a true artist! My last cut was very extreme for me, my hair was mid back and we cut it to my jaw. I was really nervous even though I wanted this change. She was very comforting and gave me a great cut. I have gotten tons of compliments. If you need a new look, I highly recommend Sarah.

The staff DID finally return my call and we’re very apologetic. I made an appointment and was generally satisfied with the haircut. It might take a time or two to get the feel of the place. I’ll try again.

I was recently referred to Katrina by a friend. First off just let me say that she was very sweet and even came in on her day off to do my hair. I was running late and she was understanding telling me not to rush.
The salon is very cute. And parking in the back that is helpful. But it was a little hard to find and I passed right by it.
Overall she did a fantastic job. I have short fine hair and wanted something different and she totally transformed me. She also gave me styling tips so I could style it at home.
I will definitely be returning!

I’m giving it two stars for the salon itself. It was very clean and beautifully decorated, I love the little pink dryer chair!
Unfortunately, I must be the unluckiest person when it comes to getting a good stylist.
I had an appointment with Katrina at 4. Man, I didn’t get out of there until almost 8. She couldn’t find any of her stuff, kept dropping combs and clips and stuff all over. I could not believe how long it took. I wasn’t even able to pick my dog up from daycare and had to board her overnight because the daycare closes at 6:30. My husband came with me and after a couple hours asked if they had a place where he could take a nap, I don’t blame him.
All I did was get my ends trimmed and asked her to fix my layers because they had gaps in them. I also got one small blonde streak on the underside of my hair. Except that it’s not blonde. It’s a bunch of different brassy shades of yellow with an orange chunk in the middle.
It seriously took her an hour just to brush me hair. I’m not kidding. I have really long hair that gets tangled easily, and she spent the entire hour saying «I should’ve combed it in the sink with conditioner when I was rinsing it out,» yet did not take me back to the sink to do so. Because, ya know, spending an hour brushing hair is more convenient.
Everyone knows the blow out is the best part of getting your hair did! In this case, my hair wasn’t shiny or smooth or even dry all the way through. She left the undersides and roots of my hair very damp. Of course it got poofy and weird and generally looked a hot mess once it air dried throughout. I didn’t even complain because I wanted to get the heck out of there already.
She was very friendly though and at least apologized for how long it took, and told me I could come back in a week and she’d try to fix my blonde streak. Because my experience was so bad I really don’t want her touching my hair again. No way.
This is the 2^nd hair salon in tacoma that I’ve had horrible luck with. I obviously can’t speak for the rest of the stylists here but I couldn’t recommend this salon to anybody based on my own experience.

I was here already twice and Ill definitely come back. I got a haircut and color by Sophia and she did a great job on it. Best color I ever had.

Over shaved/​trimmed my eyebrow this morning and went in on a wim to get it fixed. Love the girl who waxed it. It didn’t get fixed perfectly but that’s my own fault for the trim, not hers, she did a great job with what she could! Plus the wax isn’t super hot, it’s just warm enough that you can ignore it unlike other places where it is scalding. Def will go back for my eyebrows.

I just had my hair cut and colored by Sophia Van Slyke, one of their stylists and I am extremely pleased. She’s creative, easy to talk to, friendly, and knows her stuff as far as hair and makeup goes! I recommend booking with her in advance as her schedule seems pretty busy, which is saying something! The salon is small but has a nice feel to it and in a great location. I highly recommend Sophia at Platinum.

Love this place! Just got my hair cut and styled here yesterday. The service was excellent and I was addressed as soon as I walked in. The décor was cute and very «hipsterish» style about it.
Location: Stadium District
Parking: Free street parking and always pretty easy to find in that area
Costumer Service: Excellent… Ask for Cynthia! She did an amazing job and help me pick out what I wanted without me actually even knowing :)
Prices: Not too shabby ((remember you get what you pay for!!))

I had my lashes done by Jin, and it was Amazing. Honestly, the nicest Esthetician ive been to in a long time. SHe was fast, clean, and made me feel very comfortable. I would reccomend her to anyone in the Tacoma Area.

I would give this salon all five stars, but apparently, if you give this wonderful salon all five stars, Unilocal hides them. The one ugly review is so wrong and mean spirited, it should be deleted. That said, I love this place. If I lived closer, I would be there more often, but as it is, when I am in the area I always stop in for THE BEST hair stylists and they get me in on short notice, too! Thanks, Andrea!
