It’s one thing to go to a salon and expect to receive professional service, but it is another thing entirely to actually get it. I had not gone to Regis in the Tacoma Mall before, so I cannot review the shop as a whole; however, I can review the lack of service that I received from one of the stylists. I had been looking for someone to do a quick cut and color(cut off my long hair, leaving me with a short reverse wedge cut and then color– no bleaching required as I was actually going darker than my natural color) and figured I would call salons in the mall as they should be open a bit later. This particular evening it was about five o’clock and I figured even if I didn’t get in until later, it shouldn’t take more than an hour and a half to two hours to do my hair. Sai answered the phone at Regis and I told him exactly what I wanted and since I needed to have it done that evening I asked him if he would be able to get it done. He said that he could and said that he had someone in the chair, but that he could take me at 6:45 if I could wait for a bit and then come in. I asked more than three times throughout the conversation if he was sure he could get me in and get what I wanted done before they closed– it was extraordinarily important that it be done completely that night. Each time I asked, he assured me that he could get it all done and that it would be no problem. I hung up happily knowing that I finally had my appointment and I was ready to chop off my hair and try something completely new. Imagine my surprise when I received a call from Sai at 6:30 while I was in my car about a mile from the salon. Apparently Sai decided he was going to cancel my appointment and reschedule me for the next day. My husband got to my phone before I did since I was driving and had his phone connected to the Blue Tooth instead of mine. My husband kind of nodded, looked at me, and hung up. He told me that Sai needed to reschedule because all of a sudden he was not feeling well. I asked my husband to call him back and put him on speaker phone. I then proceeded to tell him how unprofessional he was and asked if there was anyone there in the salon that could pick up my now failed appointment. He apparently had not thought of that and quickly put me on hold to ask around but, alas, all of his colleagues were already booked. My husband asked Sai for his manager’s name(Rhonda) and told him that we would like to speak to her, and in a rather smug manner, Sai informed us that Rhonda, of course, was not in at that time but he would most certainly have her call us. Two weeks later and still no return call from Rhonda. This is why I wrote this review: not only did a professional cosmetologist repeatedly promise me that he could do something that in reality he could not get done, but he wasted my time and pushed me so far back into the evening to wait on him, by the time he finally called to cancel, no other salons were open long enough to get done what I needed to. Now, I’m not a total meanie. I have four teenagers and my husband is a disabled vet. I know that things can go sideways in the blink of an eye. I also know, that if you are in the business of providing a service to someone and you make promises that you cannot keep just to ensure they don’t go somewhere else, it’s just not savvy business hygiene. Having a smug attitude only makes it worse. The fact that the salon manager never called means one of two things: either he never told her or the loss of another customer just isn’t that big of a deal. Either way, people should know. On the bright side, their failure in customer service led me to another salon that gave me the cut and color I wanted and I had a blast doing it. So, a thank you to Sai and a nod to Karma, I would have never found my new salon if this had not happened. :) The main points: –This is a review on a STYLIST– not the entire store. –I asked repeatedly to ensure same day service and was told that’s what I would get –Sai scheduled me for an evening appointment and then waited until fifteen minutes before the scheduled appointment to call and cancel –When dealing with him on the phone he was completely unprofessional –For whatever reason, I never received any followup from the salon Manager –Karma is alive and well

Got yet another great cut today. Squeezed in same day and had my hair cut by Jenny. She did exactly what I wanted and it looks great. Can’t wait to see her for highlights soon!

This is my favourite salon. I have been going to this salon for around 5 years ever since I moved from Seattle. My favourite stylists are Rhonda and Amber. Rhonda is the manager with years of experience; thus, achieving any desired styles is easy. They also give special discounts on their products often. Buy 1 get 2 free is my favourite. Make an appointment today.

Huge Shout Out to Lindsey! Black Friday was crazy at Tacoma Mall but luckily for me & my daughter, Lindsey was able to take us as walk-ins! Wash, cut, color & style was FANTASTIC! She by far has the BEST customer service I’ve experienced in along time. She’s super professional and very knowledgeable about hair care & product! Thanks again Lindsey for a FANTASTIC hair job!!!

I’m giving it three stars because one time I went and had one girl who was amazing and did anything extra to help me with prom. I forgot her name but she was young and short and dressed somewhat punk-rock. Anyways what I would give one star to is the receptionist. I called and asked for the price of a service and she said she didn’t know and that I could make an appointment or come in for a consultation to find out. Ridiculous.

Terrible customer service. The girl at the front desk pushed my appointment back an hour after I was already there, didn’t even seem to be apologetic, had no chair for me to sit in, then has the nerve to give me attitude when I tried to make conversation with her. When it finally came down to do my hair I ended up with two different colors. My roots were a completely different shade than the rest of my hair, you could see it from a mile away. Now, I have never gotten my hair dyed at a salon because I do my own hair but I had some extra cash so I figured I’d treat myself to not having to do the workload. But as far as I know, they should not have let me leave with two different colors and should have fixed it. I’m supposed to «go back so she can match up my hair,» but after paying $ 125 to have two different colors I am certainly not giving them any more money to ruin my hair. The color she gave me wasn’t even remotely close to the color I wanted and she kept bleaching when bleach was not even necessary. Sadly, I could’ve done a better job than a «professional» did :/And I did. After letting my hair rest for a few weeks from the frying she did to it with bleach I went to sally’s and bought some dye and peroxide and fixed it to the right color in one try, and NOBLEACH! She was sure she needed bleach to get my hair to lift and until this day, every time I do my roots I use absolutely no bleach and only 30 vol. peroxide to get my roots to lift beautifully. I wouldn’t trust these people to do my hair ever again, they obviously have no idea what they are doing and to let a customer walk out with two different colors in their hair and refusing to cut off the ends you just fried to a crisp with your lack of knowledge because it’s «too close to closing» is just unacceptable. And then offering me to come back and pay more for you to fix your mistake? No thanks, I can do that myself for $ 7.

I went there once and never went back. The haircut was decent enough but the young man cutting my hair told me that because I had«such a fat face»(admittedly — I have a round face — but I wouldn’t call it fat) I should really consider a different hair style. Yes, he was that blunt and when it dawned on him what he said to me he got a fit of giggles that continued through the whole haircut. And when the others in the shop asked him what was so funny he told them what he said — they were shocked. I kept my cool and didn’t say anything. However, I didn’t leave a tip for him and he didn’t seem suprised.
