Shari’s

I am sorry, but this Shari’s has the most unprofessional, incompetent bunch of people I’ve ever dealt with in my life! I came with a group about 2 weeks ago around 4am, we already knew what we would be dealing with, maybe 15 mins into our wait. The table across from us had ordered stuffed hash browns, when her order got to her table it was regular hash browns… The lady she was with mentioned to our server that she had ordered stuffed hash browns and she would rather have them the server turned around looked at the tables that were occupied, counted them and told her «I have 5 tables to serve, I can bring her some sour cream and chives!» Did not let the women finish speaking and walked away. When it was time for our group to order a few of us ordered the grilled cheese and she said «I would not recommend our grilled cheese.» So we asked «why?» She explained it wasn’t to her liking and what not! And refused to let us order it. We were rushed throughout our whole order that a few of us didn’t get to place an order. When she finally did come by (because she ignored us walking past maybe 3 – 4 times) she finished the rest of our order. WE WAITED ALMOST TWO HOURS! half of our order was incorrect and the other half never got to us. There was pie crust on pancakes, hamburgers were over cooked, the server had her nerve and poured a second order of chicken wings on to the first order without our consent… We never got refills on any drinks. The second order did not come out with the first order and she mentioned there was 3 orders ahead of ours.. The server did not know how to split a bill and the MANAGER refused to speak to us and show her face. Both servers were talking shit to each other as if we could not hear and they expected us to just take all the bullshit that we were just served. We did not give them an easy time like the rest of the customers did. They were beyond RUDE! If the MANAGER came out of her little office, I’m sure she could have done or said something that could have made the situation less dramatic but she refused. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN!

The food is all so delicious. I would eat everything off the menu. Open ²⁴⁄₇. Great service. How perfect can it get.

I uaually go to sharis with prettly low expectations but I never thought it would get worse than I expected. The server was rude and since we were sat by the service station we had the luxury of hearing how much he hated his job and figuring the mystery of his missing table. We received our food before our shake and salad was told our salad was on its way. Another server who apparently was the mananger dropped off our sauce and i asked about our shake. Our server over heard this and snapped with a «i said it was coming». Feeling rather disciplined at this point we just shut up and enjoyed our chicken strips. Halfway through our platter we received our salad. Once we delved into it we noticed it was rather brown and wilted so bad that our lizards wouldn’t have even touched it. We showed it to yet another server and she said she was aware the salad was bad and was gonna go show her manager who she insinuated was a lady. The guy that made the shake happened to be the manager we found out when he asked us if we needed anything and we mentioned the salad situation. He did comp our salad but when we advised him of the situation with our servers very low level of professionalism he just made excuses. Only thing that is gonna get me back there is the free food that comes with the survey I got.

Terrible experience on account of a bossy and inept hostess, and a rude waitress named «Crystal.» We waited 15 minutes to be seated, and when we noted that they were seating someone ahead of us, the waitress publicly huffed out and retorted «Sorry» in a condescending manner, and then reported «Well I don’t walk on water!» When we reported this to the manager, his only response was «Well that’s her personality.» After receiving no apology from the manager, we promptly left and went down the road to ELMER’S RESTAURANT — where we were greeted immediately, treated courteously and had an entirely different and positive experience. I’ll never patronize a «Shari’s» again — totally not customer-​oriented.

We left without spending a dime. The wait staff was incredibly rude and unhelpful when we arrived. When another group who arrived well after we did was called to be seated before us we pointed that out. The server (Crystal) snidely commented «Well, I don’t walk on water» We decided to leave then and there but asked to speak with the manager. When we explained what happened (being careful to acknowledge that lunch time can be busy) he just said «Oh, that’s just her personality. «No apology. No level of caring. What an embarrassment of staff and management.

I wanted a pot roast sandwich and they do not have it on the menu, but they do have pot roast. So the server Vanessa had made an open face pot roast sandwich for me. Not only did she have the sandwich made she had great customer skills and was very attentive to us even though they were kinda busy. I appreciate this type of service after a long day at work. If you visit here be sure to ask for the server named Vanessa she is great.

I came for the pie. Ended up having eggs Benedict and it wasn’t half bad. I’m a Benedict snob. Service. Can be sketchy depending on the day and time you arrive. The one thing that is always true… dirty bathrooms.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. They just basically asked our party of 14 to leave because apparently they didn’t want our business. Incredibly rude host. We were willing to wait, to split up, to do whatever. We were well behaved. I’m hoping the host (a man) was going through a personal crisis, because that’s the only excuse that seems acceptable. Bad bad bad. Hostile. Incredibly unwelcome.

Service was not good. Waitress was not attentive to our group. After a 20 minute wait and end in sight left and went IHOP.

Food is not too bad. It’s a good place when you’re wanting food in the middle of the night, but don’t want that Denny’s environment. I like their variety of appetizers, but they took out the potstickers, which were my favorite. Service is sometimes good, and sometimes sucks.

My husband ran in to grab a slice of pie which we thought would be pretty simple.
We walk I’m and get the usual «welcome» as someone walks by and then the wait begins.
After 5 minutes a server comes by to grab our order and we stand patiently to pay for the slice of pie as two families also come up to pay for their bill.
Of course since we were up there 1^st it makes sense to go in order. My husband tells the server he just wants to pay for the pie (Women in her 50’s with graying brunette hair) she then barks at him «I can’t help you unless you have a ticket» (wth we didn’t dine in so we don’t have a ticket).
The other server walks up with our pie and tells her «I have their pie right here» and ends up ringing us up on the other side.
I normally would even get annoyed but what happened to customer service? How hard is it to go onto the pie menu and ring up a slice? We’re paying customers just like everyone else and no one deserves to be spoken to like a dirty stray dog.
You guys should retrain your staff on the basics.

We ate breakfast yesterday (Sunday). No wait time, great! Seated promptly, greeted promptly, waitress was great but busy.
Do not order the quiche — their method of heating it up is to put it on the grill on wax paper. As you can imagine, the crust comes out and is just like pie crust is BEFORE you bake the pie! Ick. Waitress had the cook redo it and this time it came out grilled on bottom but the crust was still not as it should be. Husband’s breakfast was fine. Coffee could be brewed stronger.
So, food can be improved but service was great.

Very disappointed in the service at this location. Last week I ordered a meal that comes with a side salad. The waitress asked what type of dressing I wanted but never did bring me the salad. When I reminded her of it today, she referred me to the manager. An apology and the salad would have sufficed. Instead, the manager offered me a slice of pie. Really? Pie in place of salad? I told her I’m avoiding calories and preferred the salad. She tells me a slice of pie is the comparable replacement. I just wanted my side salad. Then when my food was served, I received a visibly dirty soup spoon and requested a new one. The manager, who gave me the dirty spoon, stood there and examined the crude on the spoon and concluded it was «just water spots». I still wanted a clean spoon so she walked away, rubbed it with a towel and brought the same spoon back to me.
I won’t be going back to this location again. The service is bad (not all servers) and the manager lacks customer service skills.

My wife and I love breakfast for dinner or any other meal so we frequent two places. One being this Shari’s and that is because of the staff and service. The evening chef really takes pride in his work and you can tell. We always order the same thing no matter which Shari’s location we patron. The staff is very nice and the chef puts thought into the quality of the meal and the presentation as well. I should of taken pictures of my eggs benedict with fresh fruit, looked and tasted like a master piece.

I am really surprised at the treatment received this evening. My friend and I stopped for a bite to eat after a night out and ordered the same meal we always get. I have the all American and she has the eggs Benedict. For years we get the same meal. My food came out and the server explained that my friends meal was messed up and would be out shortly.
Needless to say the meal that was placed in front of her was not what she ordered. However because it had taken so long she had a few bites to try and make the best of it since she was pretty hungry at this point.
Eventually we asked for the manager and she was asked to remove ½ of the charge since this was not what she ordered but had eaten some of the food. The manager was very argumentative and pretty much flung my friends debit card down on the table rolled her eyes said don’t worry about it and walked away!!!
The kicker is that my friend used to work for this company and knows what to expect. Sure it’s midnight and the place was packed but seriously it wasn’t what she ordered! Loose the tude lady!

We had a server with a inappropriate response to my gender identity correction. It happened tonight at your Tacoma 72^nd St location. You should NEVER question a person (s) gender identity when they correct you. then to follow it with a response of «well you’re a pretty man then» Absolutely NOT OK!!! So I sent a lovely email regarding this problem to Corporate. Your establishments seem to be all over the PNW & I hope and pray that you get Diversity Training for Gender Identity Gender Expression for your Employees to learn and know how to respectfully address any Transgender Gender Fluid customers that patronize your restaurant. It would be a wonderful thing to know that in this great City of Diversity Tacoma WA where it was voted the Gayest city in the America by
January 2013, there is a restaurant named Shari’s who is Trans Friendly.
Now to enjoy my slice of Marionberry pie since it is Free pie night

Horrible.
Went to Sharis with the family around 9p for dinner. Was seated at booth 27 i believe. My kids had chocolate milk but the waitress didnt bother to stir the chocolate syrup which resided at the bottom so i had to stir it in. Also one of the straw was soaking wet when she handed us the straws (not sanitary). Ordered the cod and chips with coleslaw (3 orders) all 3 orders had foggy fries and fish didnt taste right. Also the coleslaw had a hint of a bleach like taste. The tartar sauce looked like it was left outside all day as it had a oxidize color and it tasted that way. My Wife said she had better airplane food than the meal we had that night. Onto the free pie, i had the cheesecake and for some reason it was salty… that was the last draw… i had to pay the bill and leave as i just went to church prior to going to Sharis. Awful food and lazy waitress (wasnt not busy. only 3 other customers besides us). STAY AWAY!!!

I was pleasantly surprised that Shari’s, at lunch was much better than the reviews I have read on Unilocal.I was invited by friends to join them today.
Service was prompt, pleasant, efficient and professional. The food was served in a timely manner and it was hot food. What more can you ask for me Shari’s restaurant.

I don’t know why this place has such bad reviews… Our food was quick and good and our waitress Colonnie was very friendly and attentive. The only complaint I have is that they need to turn the frickin heat up!
Oh, and we came at 6 pm on a Thursday.

A higher class of Denny’s, I suppose.
I’ve been to this location several times down thru the years. I’d say it’s consistently around average. Average food, average service.
I had the French toast this particular visit. It’s was good.
When it was time to pay (you have to go up to register), waitress attending the register just walked off, leaving my father standing there with a $ 50 bill in hand. Thought that was kinda rude… Finally someone decided to take his payment a few minutes later…
