We were hoping this place would be good. We really were. The service was friendly. We don’t care what the place looks like or about the flies in the dining room, we were just looking for really basic burritos. Unfortunately they did not deliver. The food was bad. Low quality asada with no flavor. Beans and rice, no flavor. Green salsa, no flavor. Red salsa, hot but no flavor. Even the pickled carrots had no flavor. The tortillas weren’t even any good.

Okay avg stuff for a taco truck converted to restaurant. Burrito was basic. Enchiladas lacked a lot. Perhaps a one and done spot. Viva la Parvis!

I’ve only had the tacos(chicken and pork) and the chicken asado and both were pretty good! The food is decently priced and the service is fast and friendly. I would recommend this place if you’re in Tacoma and looking for Mexican food.

I tried this place for the first time today, and I was really impressed. I had carnitas tacos, and they were very tasty. The pork is very soft and flavorful, and not fatty at all. The service was friendly, and the food was out pretty quick. My only complaint is their salsa bar has the world’s tiniest to-go cups. It was hard to even fit the salsa in there. They were literally less than an inch high and wide. I ended up making a salsa mess trying to fit the pico in there…

I go here at least once a week. It’s cheap and convenient. The food is generally very good although I’ve been surprised a few times. Pork tacos with avocado, chicken quesadilla, pork burrito. It’s all good.

The food was okay. I had three tacos with rice and beans. He had 4 tacos, all steak. Mine was one steak, one pork, one chicken. The chicken was the best IMO. Followed by the pork then the steak. The beans were good and so was the rice, nice and fluffy. We ordered inside where there were more prices displayed. The indoor seating was okay, no air conditioning and it would have been nicer had there been less flies. The problem and the reason for only one star. She asked if we wanted drinks. Two waters we requested. She asked, is bottled water okay? I asked, is it free? She said, no. So we declined. Well, right next to the salsa bar, which is inside and which was decent, was a soda machine with the little water pushey tab thing that anyone who chooses water knows is there. Also, on the counter where we ordered was a stack of cups for fountain drinks. Now, I know this is a taco truck, but if you offer indoor seating, a restroom, and a soda fountain, you should offer FREEWATER! COMEONNOW! I’m sure they pay 3 – 5 cents a cup for the ones they had on the counter, but at least give me a Dixie cup to get some friggin water. We were thirsty! Total= around $ 10. Debit accepted Would we go back? Maybe, if we had our own drinks. We don’t pay for drinks, it’s a rip.

very nice taco truck. I’m very pleased with this place. it reminds me of home in LA where we would call these trucks roach coaches. the food is extremely quick but this is not fast food. this food is good food done fast. great salsas the green one is spicer then the red sauce. I think it’s a tomateo sauce. I love Mexican food the spicer the better. as being a truck I prefer it be a little greasy because your not expecting 5 star food. just good food fast at a good price. I think that’s why I live food trucks. it may not be the most healthy for you but if its spicy enough you’ll sweat it off anyways. I love food that makes me cry and sweat.

We moved to Tacoma, Washington from California and miss the great taco trucks of Norcal. After reading reviews for Taqueria Las Torres, we decided to try it out. To be honest, the food was not great. The beans were very bland and the rest of our meal was pretty bad as well. Tacos Guaymas is a better choice if you’re in Tacoma and like your food with flavor.

We were excited to try this place after Yoga and the food was ready pretty quickly. But the portions and taco sizes were smaller than what you would expect at a Taco Truck. Im a pescatarian so it would have been great to see more veggies offered(when you ask for a veggie taco, its just the taco but with beans and cheese), or some fresh seafood options as well(too much to ask for taco truck? dont think so). It was alright for the prices. But lets just say we ate seafood on Ruston way right after…

I’m not too sure how to feel about this place. This place was average, good, but not great. The service was nice, but I was not too impressed with the food. PASS on the beans and rice, you can make it at home, nothing special… If you go there, get the Taco’s, and get them to go, you’ll be bugged about 20 times for spare change from bums while you eat if you stay. Oh, and their Taco’s seem to be a lot smaller than other Taco truck style tacos. Honestly, I’d rather go to Antojo’s during their special hours 2 – 5 M-F I think for their .60 Taco’s, same thing only better, and a lot cheaper.

The set up here is kind of strange. It is a taco truck connected to a small building. That was not what led me to the ‘A-OK’ rating though. You can place your order outside on one end of the taco van or go inside the building and place orders there as well. Inside the building has the traditional taqueria setting of several different salsas and other condiments. I got their wet burrito here. Out of all honesty I did not think it had a whole lot of flavor. Not much on spice or anything else. The service was ok and everyone was friendly but I already have other target locations for taquerias but this one just didn’t make the cut I am sorry to say.

Fantastic! The lenguas mulitas are AMAZING! The lenguas is so tender and flavorful, by far the best I’ve had. The Horchata is so very yummy and hands down one of the best in town. You must go and get yourself some! You will not be disappointed!

Bottom Line: A hodge podge of truck/building/shack, this evolving taco stand offers some tasty and extremely cheap favorites. However, like the locale, the quality can be variable and therefore should be approached with an adventurous stomach. Really — a 3.5 — and worth a try if you’re a taco truck fan. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — Is this Taqueria Las Torres, or Sonia’s as the«order here» sign states? Just one of the many questions I’ve had about this place over the years. We came here a few times when this stand first opened and abandoned it when we found the food too salty… I figured it was time to come back and give it another chance. My lenguas mulitas fixation was well served here( ). The lenguas are very flavorful, showing care and skill in the preparation, some of the best I’ve had in the area. The slice of perfectly fresh avocado is an unusual treat on mulitas in Tacoma as well. The tortillas are nicely grilled and, at $ 4 for 2, priced competitively. The horchata($ 3) is easily the best in the area… creamy, well-spiced, and well mixed. The usual condensation one finds at the bottom of horchata(not necessarily a deal breaker) is barely present here. Unfortunately, the carne asada tacos on our most recent visit were very salty and the carne asada burrito was both salty and a bit heavy handed on the beans. But, at less than $ 6 for a burrito and 98c for a taco… I ask myself what are reasonable expectations? I’ll definitely visit again soon, and if some things improve and the lenguas and horchata prove consistent, will bump this up a star.

Once you grow tired of eating half-assed Americanized Mexican food at Masa come to the taco truck! I have eaten here at least 20 times in the last year and now I will finally write about it. The place is rock solid every time, regardless of what I order. The wait is never that long and I can walk there. Besides the food being great on a consistent basis the price is CHEAP! I’m talking about find money on the floor of your car cheap! For the price you would pay at Masa for one entrée you could buy at least 2 – 3 entrees at Taqueria Los Torres. I only wish they were open a little later at night for when I have to soak up the beer woozies. I definitely recommend this place the next time you want something yummy for your tummy.

Love this place. I work pretty much next door and often times swing by, grab a Vegi Burrito or Quesadilla and enjoy one of the best, and simplest meals I can get my hands on. The quality of the food, and ingredients is always very high up the rung, and they gals behind the counter are very sweet and always prompt. I’d recommend it to anyone who is open-minded enough to enjoy the delight of the modern taco-truck. P. S. Get the salsa verde that comes on the side if you can, it is absolutely amazing.

Inexpensive and delicious. 89 cent tacos are a steal, and they are fantastic with the cilantro and a little lime. The burritos are a little smaller than what I’d like for a substantial meal, but they’re $ 2.99 a pop so I’m not complaining. The tostadas are decent as well, but the tacos are by far my favorite.

I gotta give this place some credit as their taco(asado) were ridiculously good. Now, I’ll temper that statement and say that I don’t like traditional tacos and the places I’ve been to, the asado is a bit on the tough side so I typically pick the enchiladas or burritos with carnitas. But you can’t go to a taco truck and not order a taco. I ordered the two tacos plate with beans and rice. I will agree with Jess and Jerritt that the portions are smaller than normal. It’s technically not a huge difference but when you’re already dealing with small tacos as most traditional places are, to make them even smaller is visually noticeable. But when you taste the taco, it’s fantastic. I went this past Friday and I think I’m gonna have to go back on Monday. The prices are really good and the only thing keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is that the rice and beans weren’t that great. They were pretty forgettable. So the next time will be a 4 taco plate and bottle of Coke which is a definite must when enjoying some traditional Mexican fare… unless you can get some beer but alas no beer here.

I’m having a hard time finding carne asada that’s just right. It seems like most of the trucks here strive for the same uniform gray chewy mess. The long-term management of cooked meat in the trucks seems to favor meats tolerant of slow, wet heat. That’s not asada. It’s all tasty, savory, nom-nommy. But I have to admit I’ve been eating more pork lately than I would like in carnitas and al pastor/adobada. Las Torres has an asada that tends to go in the direction I want. I can see there was a substantial marinade: I can see the red patina on the surface and taste hints of carmelization. The problem is that it’s a bit dry. You can sit in their strange little building that used to be some kind of loan place, but they need to generally tend to it better and especially figure out their hot sauce situation for the seated area – seems like customers could be trusted to utilize a mini fridge with a few bottles of sauce. The portions are smaller as Jess H. noted, and the discrepancy is greatest in the burrito form factor. It is really convenient, though, to grab a few asada tacos right off 6th Ave.
