Pete is the real world’s most interesting man. Old ward union proud craftsmanship. Best flat top in a town full of supposedly qualified military style barbers.

Love this place, location, and music! A very reasonable hair cut from Pete leaves you walking away with a star quality look. We had to relocate to Idaho for the summer and I almost cried with each hair cut we had to get by someone other than Pete.

Hours not posted. Store closed. Lights on. Anybody home? Not worth the effort to find parking. Not even 1 star

I just moved to the area and was in need of a good haircut. I found Thee Barber Shop online and read some reviews and decided to give it a try. I gave Pete a call and askes him if he had any availability for me that day, he told me he would make some space for me. I showed up a bit early and was greeted by a man in a three piece suit. He took his time cutting my hair and you could tell that he actually cares about his job. Be prepared to hold a conversation! He finished my haircut with a straight razor which was a wonderful touch. After the haircut he took me around to all of the tiny restaurants in the square and introduced me by name to each one and told me what he enjoyed ordering from each one. Pete is a stand up guy and the best barber I’ve had.

Best haircut you can get. I was driving to Seattle for my haircuts until I was referred to Pete 2 years ago and never looked back. Don’t waste your time or money anywhere else.

Went to their new location in Freighthouse Square March 2015. They’re basically next to the food court.
Straight-​razor shave and haircut were reasonable at $ 26 each for the amount of time and service.

I have been going to Pete Lira for five years. He is the best barber, period. I am an attorney and I work in commercial real estate handling large transactions so I have to look sharp. If you want someone to massage your scalp with tea tree oil, you are in the wrong place. Pete uses a straight razor, he is a champion barber, and you walk out of his shop looking and feeling like a Man. I make the trip down to Tacoma from Bellevue every few weeks because he is the last old school barber that I know, which is a shame. I hope he never retires.

I was referred to Pete a few years ago by some colleagues of mine, and after my first visit to Pete, I haven’t gone anywhere else since. I’ve had my hair cut by other barbers all over the Puget Sound region and Pete is the best barber I’ve ever had. I’ve been going to Pete for 8 years now & have had consistently excellent results with each visit. Prior I had gone to salons with cucumber water & fresh tea, framed artwork & high-​end product for sale lining the walls.
After trying out Pete at his downtown location for the first time, I realized a great haircut stands on its own & doesn’t need the environment to enhance it, it’s just a great haircut. A haircut from Pete will look great the day you walk out of his shop & stay that way because of the skill involved.
And don’t be surprised when Pete performs his barbering excellence wearing a 3-​piece suit with no smock, he prefers this classy attire to work in.
As the previous reviewer noted, Pete’s original shop has recently relocated to Freighthouse Square & the older reviews haven’t carried over. I prefer the warmth of his new shop to the downtown location anyway & hope any guy looking for a clean, tight, professional haircut will bypass the chain barbershops & ritzy salons & give his old-​school barbershop a try.

Thee Barber shop is the best. Pete gives a damn good haircut. I have very challenging hair and he knows how to make it look great. They’ve recently moved and the reviews didn’t carry over, but it is the same great shop with the high quality hair cutting talent and old-​school goodness.
Relocated to freight house square. Great to see some active businesses moving in there and good news for commuters like me!
