Towers Coffee

I want to like this place, I really do. I’ve lived on Hilltop for about 3 years now, and Towers Coffee is the closest walking distance without having to go uphill. So it’s close, and they serve coffee. That’s about the end of the positives for me. Every time I go here, I feel like it’s crowded & unorganized. It’s not simply because it’s a small place that gets a good amount of regular customers. I feel like the problem is they don’t have a dedicated service area, and the baristas don’t really help that at all. Often when I come in, there are people standing around all over and it’s hard to tell where the line is. There’s a lot of awkward standing around, especially when the barista takes your order and then goes and starts making it without a word, leaving you to stand at the register until it’s finished before she takes your payment. And 9 times out of 10, the person serving me is not actually as friendly as others seem to have experienced. They either don’t speak because they are trying to quickly make your drink/​food, or they laugh and joke among each other, which just adds to the awkwardness of standing at the counter waiting to pay. There’s a Goodwill Buzz coffee shop up the hill on MLK, and even though those people are still in training, I find I get a lot better customer service there.

Great coffee, breakfast sandwich, and awesome service by the manager, Deni. Nice and cozy inside.
The other location is not too far from here. Came in on a Friday morning so not too busy during the school hours.
Also since it’s in downtown, there are so many places around.
Will be back!

Very overpriced for a small, microwaved sandwich with bad cheese. The bread was good though. The employees I encountered seemed bored and like they had better things to be doing. $ 9 (including tax) is way too much. Service was pretty fast but I don’t think I’ll be returning.

I work near by and was recommended the tower club by a few co-​workers. Finally I succumbed to peer pressure and stopped in for a bite to eat. It was AMAZING. The club was as big as my head! At first I said there is no way I can eat all this, but about 2 minutes after eating the first half, I found my self fiendish for the second half. I stuffed my self so much I thought I was gonna puke! Plus the two ladies who helped me where SUPER nice. I think I just found a new favorite spot!

I wish they had better tasting coffee, it has a very bitter to bland taste. The wait staff is friendly, and they have a nice selection of grilled sandwiches. They have a 2^nd location down the block by the courthouse, which is a nice place to sit and have breakfast or lunch.

They have consistant great lattes and sandwiches. The staff is friendly and I appreciate how quickly they put together my custom made sandwiches.
I was able to place a large catering order just a few days before an event and they delivered on Saturday, their day off.
