This Goodwill location is very large and has a great selection of books and vinyl! There is also a ton of clothing racks — for all genders and ages! Lots of shoes, bags, and things for the home. It looks clean and organized and, as usual, prices are fair. They also have laser discs hiding in with the vinyl which brought me back… this place is full of hidden treasures.

Big Bend Goodwill as a whole has really disappointed me the last few years. Prices are needlessly high, especially clothes, which are now sold at different price points based on whether or not they think a particular brand is popular. As to this Goodwill in particular, their clothing selection is pretty good, and all Goodwills in the area normally have a half-off sale on clothes on Monday afternoons. Decent book section and they usually have a couple good pieces of furniture. My particular beef with this Goodwill is that I have experienced very poor customer service. Case in point, last time I was there they had signs posted all over the books section that there was a sale on that day day each week and all books over $ 3.99 would have a dollar taken off. So I get up to the register with about 6 – 7 books, and the cashier tells me, «Oh, no, we aren’t doing that sale today, it’s at the manager’s discretion.» I’m still mad at myself that I went ahead and paid, particularly given that books are so «As Is» no refund. In fact, nothing is eligible for a cash refund but, at most, a store credit. I should have asked to see the manager then, as my years in retail taught me that in most cases, in the name of customer service, if you are advertising something for a given price then you SELL it for that price. While I still«support» Goodwill by making occasional purchases there, my donations now go to the Salvation Army or, even better, a small charity thrift store or mission.

I’ve been bargain hunting the Parkway Goodwill for years. It’s had it’s highs and lows, but I still find fun things. As with all Goodwills in the country, they do tend to price things a bit higher than they should be. My least favorite was seeing a completely fake Louis Vuitton purse for $ 70, when they had an authentic vintage Gucci for $ 12. Who knows what they were thinking! :O They’ve recently reorganized, expanded the purse selection and added fixtures to one of the walls to hang MORE stuff. If you haven’t been in a while, now would be a good time. Every Monday is ½ off clothes day and the have other specials through out the week, just read the marquee.
