Well the bartenders use their hands to scoop ice, so glad the glass he also used hasn’t broken in the ice bin. The drinks are strong but the people asking for tips because they are taking the ridiculous cover for a DJ and don’t know how to count back change also added to my low score. This place cannot control their clientele but the service was fast due to the time we arrived.

I just moved here a week ago and I’ve been here twice already! Great atmosphere! Great service. Good company.

I spent an hour there, was told playing pool was free that night, got harrased repeatedly by a 30 year old, and ordered only two appetizers to have a $ 25 tab at the end of the night.

Stupid, stupid, stupid little girl deliberately charged me for someone else’s higher tab. It was probably a friend of her’s and wanted to make me pay the higher tab and letting her friend pay my lower tab. That’s okay. My credit card company reversed the charge. Your little scam didn’t work, toots. My advice to you, don’t go here. If you do go here, leave an expired card with the ho up front. They don’t run it ahead of time, so they’ll never know. Then just pay cash when you leave, AFTER you review your tab CLOSELY.

Double charged my card and had me escorted out when I dared to question it. Bartenders are arrogant inattentive and act like they are doing you a favor by serving you.

We came on a Saturday and it is 10/hr for pool. When you come ask for table 9 best spot in the house. We ate Buffalo chicken sandwich and philly cheese steak. It was good get the fries not the chips. There is no free refills and ask for no ice and you should be fine. Paperview matches are $ 7 at the door per person CASHONLY! Great service had a blast!

Be sure to have cash. They charge a cover just to get through the door.(First I’ve seen at any pool hall) If you don’t smoke and can’t handle the smell, stay away. The food, service and pool tables aren’t too bad if you can get past the the cover charge and smoke.

Food was cold. Electricity went out during our visit and they told us we had to either stay until it came back on or leave our credit card. Uh, duh. Hell, no. We are just passing through, thank you. The manager wasn’t smart enough to calculate our bill without the aid of his POS system. Wow. What a way to treat travelers. After an uncomfortably long time, they figured out where to find their prices(the menu) and how to calculate the 7.5% sales tax. We paid cash and got the hell out of there. Avoid.

I was thinking about this crappy place this morning and just want to remind readers of my previous review and the fact that Pockets did everything they could to prevent bringing to justice the thug who hit my son with a baseball bat on New Year’s Eve. Who does this type of thing? Pockets apparently condones this type of behavior from their employees and their customers. Stay away.

I liked it. Down home, full of locals, people trying to have a good time. Attentive and attractive waitresses, decent beer and overall very comfortable.

You really can have a fun time at Pockets. It definitely can get old if you are not a pool guy though. Why on earth do they charge cover after a certain time to hear some terrible racket of a cover band. Once the band starts playing, talking becomes impossible, even at tables towards the back. A definite downside, though pretty normal for a lot of these joints, so no change in the 3 stars.

Summary– I really, REALLY, wanted to give this bar 4 stars, but the smoke is unbearable for non-smokers. Pros– It’s like Disney Land for alchoholics! Frozen beer mugs, good cocktails, good beer, awesome pool, great darts, a mini-bowling alley, live music, dance floor, big bar, friendly staff. Cons– SMOKE! It is crazy… this would literally be one of my favorite places in tally if there was no smoking.

If I could rate 0 I would. Our server has come by our table once in the past hour. I had to wait 20 minutes for a beer and then never saw her again. As my friends tell me, this is actually one of the better experiences they have had here. I’ve seen our server juggling bean bags and volley ping pong balls with the staff to pass time while ignoring her tables. As I speak that’s what’s currently happening. Needless to say we’re leaving, going to a competitor, and won’t be returning soon

If you’re a college student looking to get intoxicated and meet some people, this might be a pretty good place. However… if you’re a pool player looking for a great pool hall, you’re much better off going to Zingale’s. The pool tables at Pockets are mistreated on a daily basis by the college students that go there, so they tend to stay pretty dirty. It’s also hard to play a serious game of pool here on busy nights because they have chairs set up next to the pool tables that people sit at, so people are constantly having to move when you try to shoot a game. In addition, the service here is pretty horrid. Almost every time I’ve been here, we don’t even know who our waitress is because they never stop by. On many occasions when we finally found a waitress, it took forever to get the drinks we ordered. Also, on weekend nights, you’re going to have to pay a cover charge just to get in the door. even if you’re there just for pool and not for the band or karaōke. To sum it up– decent place to go as a college student looking to socialize… bad place to go for a serious pool game.

When reading the following sentences, follow up with«for a pool hall». Pockets is fairly nice… They have a pretty good beer selection… The crowd is… alright… It’s still smoky as all get-out, even… When reading the following sentences, follow up with«for ANY bar». The bathrooms are surprisingly clean… There are a decent number of TVs… Service is attentive… I was a little miffed that we were charged a $ 5 cover for the live band, considering we only stayed for an hour and the band hadn’t even started playing yet(not that we were interested anyway… only came for a beer and to catch the end of a game). I would come back if I lived here and was either single or really wanted to play pool, so I guess that counts for something.

The beers are huge(18oz) and they have a large selection of ‘em. The pool tables are a-plenty. They have a midnight mini-bowling alley and an arcade, which is fun if you like games but aren’t good at pool. Generally a chill place when I went(a Monday night). They allow smoking inside, which is a huge turnoff for me, but luckily the place is huge so I didn’t feel too stinky when I left.

Good old Pocket’s. Huge place with plenty of pool tables, dart boards, friendly and usually quite attractive waitresses. You can get the $ 2.25 extra tall beers, the shots are failry cheap also. And most things I have tried on the menu were pretty pretty good. All in all, you can’t really go wrong. Smoking inside is allowed but its not very overpowering at all. Be careful though, if you are not a karaōke fan, I believe thursday nights is karaōke night.

I agree w/other Unilocalers, large place, decent service, good atmosphere, passable menu, good local atmosphere. I DO like that it is a cigar friendly venue. All in all, not bad, just not great either.

Monday’s in Tallahassee usually mean you’re stuck at home. Thank God for Pockets! Great location, huge clean facility, nice waitresses, good bartenders, and not expensive! Like most of Tallahassee the crowd will be locals and college students. And somehow not as smoky as most bars.

A nice pool hall? It must be true, especially if it can occupy space right next to Chuck E. Cheese without causing alarm. But seriously this place is pretty big and because of that, there a few ways to entertain yourself here. There pool of course, but there’s also a huge full bar, mini bowling and arcade games in the back. Also this is a good place to spark up a good cigar(that you can buy from Jerry’s around the corner) and enjoy while catching a game. When I’m in town I normally spend at least one night here relaxing. The crowds are a mix of young and old and the vibe is nonthreatening, check it out.
