I guess when you’re told to «go eff yourself and eff you» from the owner /manager of the establishment you should rate it one star. I guess that’s what I’m gonna do then since that is what was just told to me. After waiting 45 minutes for a slice a few slices of pizza(and I called ahead of time because I know this place takes forever anyway) I try to pay with a valid crowdsavings voucher. The guy is like«we don’t take these any more». I say«why not? I have already paid for it… How does that work?» He said«sorry dude they are messed up on their end and we haven’t gotten paid» I said«but I literally used another one last week» he said«tough luck» so I said«this is f**** bull***» and he said«f u, go f yourself»… Wow. I mean wow. Wow. Just wow.

Not bad, but this isn’t a surprise hole-in-the-wall. Seems to be more of a place people end-up when they are drunk. The pizza is better than most and the Philly is very flavorful, but greasy. Overall not a bad place, would eat here again.

I love the service here and I see them a lot because it’s right across the street from sister Bear’s house. There’s only one problem: Even with the Wednesday special, NYPizza down the street seems to outdo them in deliciousness. I have been a long time customer and like the Wed. special, BUT I have been known to prefer NY Pizza instead. I really want this place to reinvent itself in the face of pizza pie competition! Cmon guys! Life is too short for mediocre grub.

It was MEH, same as other reviews. Kind of tasteless? So sad! We did get the garlic cheesy bread, which was notable for a YUM status. Way more flavor there, although you can tell that the garlic bread is a prepared loaf from the fridge. The sauce for that was pretty good. The wait time is horrific. Staff attempts to be nice, but in reality it’s a bunch of adults with adolescent responsibilities with crappy attitudes. Pep Pizza– Meh Garlic bread– Ok That is all.

Yep, I’m with the meh-ers on this one. I frequent the Deck from time to time, as it is the second closest eatery to my apartment, but not by choice. I mean, I don’t plan meals here. But it’s not because it’s bad food, because the few times we did plan a meal here, it was delicious. It was a rainy, overcast Saturday, and we had stayed up late the night before drinking, and wound up sleeping in. We awoke to rain clouds and rumbling tummies, and since Greenwise is blocks past the Deck on our path, we decided, ‘screw the rain, and forget cooking,’ grabbed my oversized umbrella and the dog, and walked down to the Deck for lunch. It took probably 20 – 25 minutes to get our extra large pepperoni pie out to us, because the guys were still opening up and it had started to torrentially rain again as we approached. We were all trying to figure out a way to get our table out of the path of the wind and the rain, and eventually we did. One of the employees chatted with us while the other cooked our pizza, and we sipped our sodas. It was very pleasant. The pie, when it arrived, was fantastic. Call me overly hungry or just craving greasy food, but it was really good, crust and all — and I consider pizza a favorite food, so it’s high praise. We paid for the reasonably priced pizza and went on our way. Another time, we went with friends before going out one night, around 8pm. Pitchers and pizza, and all was good. Problem is going after 10pm, or going at all on $ 1 Wednesday. Trust me — I’ve been there at 2am on a Friday night, and I wouldn’t want to serve my finest work to the SoHo crowd at that time either… the pies are grease catchers, primarily, at this point. You may not see it at night, but if you brought a pizza home with you and try to reheat it the next day, you’ll understand… So go, just go at off-peak hours to get a good slice — or go when you have the beer munchies and expect to be satisfied, just not blown away.

The Deck is awesome! I usually go after bar hopping in Soho, maybe why I think it is so amazing. Great pizza, fast and good service and reasonably priced.

Can’t go wrong with $ 1 pizza and $ 1 beer on Wednesdays” Good pizza. Owner run pizza place with very friendly customer service. Inside seating and outside deck seating. Recently renovated outside area. Serves a good crispy pizza with a nice crust. Good NY style pie. If you live in the area and want pizza this is your place

Great pizza for a good price! Always good after a long night of drinking and partying in SoHo. They always have great attitudes and friendly customer service as well.

When I arrived here I was starving for a good piece of pizza. The deck was fairly empty and I couldn’t wait to eat some savory pizza. The service was so slow. I ordered two slices of pizza and it took over 10 minutes for it to come out. I was tempted to get up and go somewhere else. I heard a lot of great things about their pizza, but it wasn’t anything special. I wouldn’t go back unless I was dragged their drunk!

Unfortunately, there aren’t many pizza places in Tampa that know how to cook a crust. All too often I am left with under-cooked, soggy crust, and/or overly greasy pizza toppings. Luckily I can go to the deck when I am on Howard for a well-done, crispy pizza. The staff is very friendly and there are some kind of specials involving beer every night of the week. Great place to start, or end, the night.

Another establishment that I have mixed feelings on. On the one hand, this place has saved me from dying of starvation on many a drunken Hyde Park evening. On the other hand, I don’t feel like the pizza is anything to write home about. The pizza is well priced and they are quick with the service. I have been to Deck when it was extremely crowded, but they do a good job of managing the crowds. Final answer: Probably not somewhere I would choose to stop in unless I had the beer munchies. After the beer munchies set in, it is ON!

Deck Pizza is a step above your average pizza. It’s a solid, new york style slice that will satisfy the cravings that attack from time to time. So, you say, why 4 stars? That sounds like a place that just doing it’s job. Well, you’re wrong. They’ve got a different, fun ambience and specials that make my eyes go misty for the good olé college days. The deck has an inside but I’ve never seen it. Instead, I enjoy the large Deck(hence the name) with picnic tables and, on the weekends, a dj spinning all the finest tunes. They’ve also got beerpong and, correct me if I’m wrong, cornhole. Another huge benefit is if you go before you hit howard, or after, the people watching is AMAHZING! In short, it’s a great place to enjoy being outside in a college-esque way. Now, the specials. I believe they have specials for both delivery and take out everyday of the week. Don’t quote me on that. Take some initiative and check out the website for yourself! Wednesday are definitely the best day for specials. It’s $ 1 cheese slices, $ 1 bud light drafts, and $ 1 wines. Would I recommend wine at this establishment? Probably not. But this is America, we like choices. Maybe I like this place because it takes me back to college when I knew which bar was serving the cheapest drinks every night, but I say give it a try. I don’t think it’ll disappoint.

I really don’t get the bad reviews for this place. I’ve had pizza here twice and both times it has been great. Was it the best pizza I have ever had? No, but it is better than nearly any other pizza place I have been to in the Tampa Bay area. The pizza is thin so if you are a thicker crust fan you won’t enjoy it so much. The pizza really is no thrills but it is mighty tasty. Their cheesy bread was the best I have ever had. The restaurant itself I would say almost qualifies as a dive. It is a tiny little hole in the wall. I am pretty sure most of their clientele is served on their deck after the inside closes up though. It is in the big bar spot in Tampa. The staff is super friendly. The owners are awesome too. Definitely worth a try.

Nice little pizza spot with average tasting NY-style pies. Plenty of beers to select from, small indoor eating area and large outdoor deck(hence the name). This is usually just a good spot to hit up to throw some carbs into your system before hitting the road after a night on the town, so it shouldn’t be taken as much more than that. Nothing spectacular going on here, but there really ain’t no such thing as bad pizza.

Why 3 stars? Because this is your average pizza experience. — — — This establishment reminds me of its neighbor, Daily Eats, because it’s the quintessential definition of middle-ground. I don’t have any negative things about this ‘za, but I don’t feel like anything about it necessarily stands out. Seems like such a cop-out review, but when you have nothing to add, what’s to say? The people are friendly, I wish them continued success, prosperity, and the ability to love.

Yep, pretty good thin-crust pizza, with good sauce & ample cheese. Happy hour also offers some beer/drink deals and not too busy early. Rough, very casual seating available, but much of the business is take-out. There are better and worse pizza places available, and this is a nice one to get a quick slice.

Deck Pizza serves New York style pizza. This is by no means the best NY Style pizza in Tampa, but this is pretty good pizza. The first time I went they used fresh basil on our pizza… at least that is what I think I remember.(I was a little tipsy on my first visit.) All of the pizzas since my first has contained dried basil instead of fresh… a bit disappointing. The garlic cheesy bread is AWESOME, but it would be even better with fresh basil. The atmosphere is fun and casual at Deck Pizza; making this a great place to go to after a night of drinking for food and people watching.

Just some thoroughly average New York style pizza, which wouldn’t warrant a mention if it was in the Northeast. But with the lack of places serving this style, it’s a welcome respite in Tampa. Their Happy Hour is cheap, and the patio tables let you people watch on Platt, which is one of the better places in the city for such activity. But the inside is very plain and doesn’t have much atmosphere. Not a place you’d want to watch a game even though they have TV’s for such a purpose. Not a place you’d want to drive far to get to, but not bad if you’re already in the area.

One word can best describe the pizza here — Oregano. I’ve never seen pizza made with so much oregano. Instead of being a topping to add yourself, its already an integral ingredient when you are served. Don’t get me wrong, I like a little on my pizza like everyone else, but the amount covering the 2 pies we ordered were just overkill. If you don’t like a sea of green covering your pie, I would suggest asking to nix it upfront when you order. Otherwise you will inhale an overwhelming aroma with every bite. Other than that, the pizza was just OK at best. Would I come here if I had been drinking? Probably. Would I come here sober? Probably not.
