I go for the steamed dumplings and saigon chow mein fun and have never been disappointed! I even got a few friends to come and it might just become a monthly thing it went so well!

I would not recommend this restaurant to people who travel to Tampa. The price is really high for the amount and quality of their food. The taste of the food is below average. They forced to charge 20% tip for group of 6 and above but they didn’t provide good service.

I like Fushia. They have soup dumplings. There’s plenty of parking. The staff is nice and speaks Mandarin(not that I do, ha ha). The food was okay. I had the soup dumplings, and they were fine(and probably the only ones available in Tampa anyway), but they weren’t like the ones I can get in California. Perhaps it’s not fair to compare, but I can’t help it. I also had the beef noodle soup. It was okay, but I think Mei’s World does better beef noodle soup. If I’m in the area and jonesing for XLB again, I’ll return, but maybe I’ll just force myself to wait until my next trip to San Francisco.

Amazing and very authentic Chinese! I’ve traveled to Asia numerous times and this place is one of the closet you’ll find to the real thing in the states. We had the Soup Dumplings and the Lazy Chicken, everything was great and service was excellent.

The lo mein was very dry and had no taste. Very disappointed in this place considering they had pretty good reviews when I checked. The shrimp wasn’t cooked either and looked weird

Wayyyy to expensive. Average cost for one entrée is $ 20, and its even not authentic at all. We are from China and eat a lot of Sichuan spicy food. And we went to many Chinese restaurant inUS, the price is too expensive. Not worth it.

They do not serve soup dumpling any more. This was my first time here and overall once I got my food I just wanted to leave. Don’t get me wrong, they do have an extensive menu. However, there were multiple items that were either no longer serving for the day or just in general. I read up about them serving soup dumplings and sadly was told they no longer serve it. When my friend ask about the pork buns and custard bun, they said they ran out for the evening. It was 5PM. I order the Lazi chicken with white rice and hot and sour soup. The lazy chicken was overcooked, and the hot and sour soup was whatever. Surprisingly, I received two spring rolls which the server noted was part of the entrée which was not noted in the menu but was nice. My friend just order krab rangoon which was just whatever. The serve was okay. The waiter came about twice. We had to ask another waitress to give us our bill. The front desk lady was nice. I will most likely try this place again to try different items, as I mention they do have an extensive menu but this rating is just reflecting the food we order that night.

Great food and service. Stick to the Chinese menu and the specials, the Chinese-American is okay, but the real stuff is amazingly good.

I found my experience here just to be okay. If anything that I liked the most I think it would have been the won ton soup in chili oil, soup dumplings, and water spinach. I guess I thought the soup dumplings would be oozing of soup from the inside, but it wasnt. It just seemed like regular dumplings to me. The won ton soup was flavorful bc of the chili, and I didn’t think it was too spicy so I was okay. The dry chicken with peppers had a kick to it, but other than the kick, I wasn’t too enthused of the flavor. I liked the water spinach, but probably because I have a taste for chinese veggies right now. Although honestly, I feel like they tasted better somewhere else. The spicy beef soup was okay and I liked the baby bok choy in it, but there was just like one piece. I am open to try new food, but I don’t think the food I tried here was appealing. There are lots of menu items, so that is good for endless options. For this current experience, I will say ehh.

The restaurant, food, and services are great! Very traditional place, I ate wanton soup and special house chow mein very tasty, and the price versus portion food is very good. For me this is one of the best China restaurant in Tampa, FL.

I really had to drop this to one star. I just learned it was shut down on May 12th, due to 17 health code violations. I cannot go back after reading about it.

I really like Chinese food and I have come to this restaurant a lot of times. It is located in a strip mall with Peabody’s and Casa Ramos. The inside is clean and nice. The staff is friendly, but they can be very slow, which is the main issue. I like to get a chicken dish, usually general tso, or sesame chicken. My girlfriend Shannon H. is not a huge fan of Chinese, but liked the beef lo mein.

Good Chinese dishes but terrible attitude of the woman put me off. Very disappointed because this is very authentic food different than Panda Express and such.

We 4 have been there 3 times in three days. The dinner was better than the lunch because the portion is bigger and spicier. More spicy cuisine is better than plain one.

Hmmm, I’m not sure why so many people are falling all over themselves for this food. The food was mediocre to bad at best and it’s just obviously a dirty dirty place(more on that below). For the food: Calamari– the flavor was good but the calamari was SO overcooked and chewy. Worst textured calamari I’ve ever had– like chewing rubber bands. Egg rolls were average, not too greasy. The won tons in chili oil were very good one of the better dishes. Great flavor, just a little spicy for my palette, so my husband ate(and loved) most of that particular dish. I’ve never had a pork bun before, so I don’t know if that’s what they’re supposed to taste like, but my husband and I couldn’t even finish the two we had. Yuck. Just, very yuck. The bun was like eating styrofoam bread, flavored slightly with some chemical tasting artificial marshmallow flavor. Just bad. Bad, bad, bad. Pork filling was overly sweet and unimpressive. Lastly we had the honey BBQ pork, which was essentially plain sliced pork drenched in honey. No Bueno. Finally, we had steamed dumplings, which were really good, my personal favorite dish of the night. Now, beyond the mediocre/bad food, I had one of the most disgusting experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. After we ate most of our food I poured out some soy sauce for the dumplings and there were TINYFLIES in the soy sauce bottle. I KIDYOUNOT. I almost died right then and there. Overall, I give the food two stars– two deserved 3 stars, most deserved 2, calamari deserved 1. There’s was a mix of pretty good and pretty bad, nothing was really great, but there were a few major misses. I will say our server was super, super attentive and nice. However, I absolutely cannot overlook the flies in the ointment… or soy sauce. For that atrocity they get one star. 100% will not be back.

To drive 32 miles for Chinese food is almost impossible for me. Not only I am an inexperienced driver but also as a native Chinese person, I can’t imagine I have any sense of humor drive that far to try an Americanized Chinese restaurants and give a rate over 3 star. But for Fushia Asian Bistro, an exception is made. I arrived without scratch my car and gave her a rate of 3.5. First, the owner kindly accommodated our group request and served ‘Xiao Long Bao’(soup dumpling) using fresh hand made dough. The dough is thin but firm enough to hold flavorful broth. It was the first time for most of our guest to try this traditional Shanghai dish, and they were not disappointed. Second, dishes we ordered covers most of the accustom Sichuan food serves in China, such as ‘1,Spicy Wonton Soup’, ‘2,Sliced Roast Beef and Tendon with Chili Sauce’, ‘3,Fresh Cucumber with Garlic’, ’38, Chongqing Lazi Chicken’, ’54, Sliced Fish in Special Hot Sauce’. Flavor is very good even though they are Americanized. Third, at the entrance, there is special menu that is written in Chinese. I ordered ‘Home smoked pork stir-fry with chili’. It is a very authentic dish just like we have back our home country. I was very happy to find such homey taste and I will again drive 32 mile just to have this dish. Fourth, it is a happy place to eat. The staffs are very friendly. Food served fast and sizzling hot. Portion is good. Hot and sour soup is complimentary. It is a good place for lunch and group gathering. If you are not familiar with authentic Chinese food, Fushia provides you a passage to taste something that is closer to the authenticity. You may choose flavor over everything, but as a Chinese, I am very proud of our food and its culture and history behind each authentic dish. I will not be shy to tell you: It is good. Eat it.’

I’m not so sure that I want to share this latest finding with the public. Maybe I should just keep it a secret between my close friends and I? Well, in an effort to educate Tampa Bay on good food and where to find it— guess I’ll just let this one go… I’m planning a UYE here for February 2013. First off, if you are the type of person that likes to order Chinese food by numbers, then you might want to try another restaurant. The entire menu is given to every customer, nothing is hidden. Information that could possibly be noted as cryptic is the handwritten specials boards in the entrance, only because they are not written in English. Even though I am versed in Chinese food ordering and menu navigation, I asked many questions to find house specialties or translation. This may not be the best Szechuan food I have ever had. However, it is the only Szechuan food in the Tampa Bay area that I have yet to find. Fushia is proud to serve authentic style food, so shouldn’t we be happy to order it? Since they have a passion for Szechuan cuisine, it really shows in the wide array of flavors and styles prepared. It takes guts for me to even try to explain this type of cuisine, so Fushia has even more gumption to give you unique and flavorful food in a «Sweet and Sour» city. Back to the entire menu written in Chinese: The owner told me that there is Cumin Lamb or Beef. And, various preparations of sliced fish, rabbit, and quail. I recommend ordering all of the authentic style appetizers and choosing which ones you like the most. My favorite appetizer at Fushia has to be the Wontons in Chili Oil— the texture of the wonton combined with the punch of garlic and spice from the chili oil are outstanding. This is a dish that I have found in Sichuan, Taiwanese, and Shanghai style restaurants— none of them in Florida until now. The dish that I experienced this the most with at Fushia is the Cold Beef Tripe appetizer; which consists of said spices and cilantro on top of sliced cold beef, tripe, and intestines. They serve Shanghai style Xiao Long Bao, famously known as Soup Dumplings or XLB– for short. They are commonly known to be served at Shanghai/Sichuan restaurants in larger cities. While these XLB taste handmade and not pre-frozen, the skin was still torn on a few and the soup was leaking out. Needless to say, the novelty of even being able to order the elusive treat should cancel out all imperfections. Fushia’s most popular dish is Lazi Chicken, which they also have a few in-house variations of. I often order the Chongking version of this dish, which omits the breading because the breading can sometimes be a bit much and quickly become soggy. That is not the case at Fushia, either dish is delicious. For side dishes, they have an assortment of garlic fried vegetables; like Ong Choi, Bok Choi, or Snow Pea Leaves. Garlic fried vegetable dishes pair perfectly with heavy meat dishes to balance out the meal. They also serve my favorite dish— thin sliced potatoes fried with hot peppers. The only dish that I asked about that they do not serve that I adore is Dan Dan Noodles. The closest place to me now is Atlanta to get my Dan Dan fix. You can say Szechuan or Sichuan, both are legal. Don’t be all Grammar Police on me, cause haters are going to hate regardless… [This review has been truncated to help manage your patience.]
